  1. Hello, This is just an open discussion, I have some money (5K$) aside (I know it's not much but I'm 27 so it's a miracle that I even saved that) and I am curious what would you guys invest in or do to maybe increase it. I am not a fan of stock exchange so maybe nothing in that direction. (e-currency is also in that category) I want to do something productive but I have 0 inspiration. Feel free to share ideas on this topic even if they don't apply to me.

What is the basis or guidelines for whoever designs or prepares an I.Q. test ? Who typically designs or prepares such, from what profession or expertise ? Philosophists or other ? Is it designed different if aimed to an age group, social class, gender, instruction level, other ? Is someone with a lower IQ score capable of designing a meaningful test ? Do scores change by studying something or is it some mysterious digging into a testee's common sense or some other obscure skills ? I have taken only one test in my life, at school about age 15. -Please move this subject to a proper place if deserved-

Greetings all: Before anything, when I say "humans are hopeless idiots" I do not point at any individual. My thoughts are about the general population of Earth, and their idiocies. When I think of humans, before anything, the picture of a locust pops up, where the locust symbolizes the "perfect parasite". Indeed, if we take the definition of parasite, and we see this from an unbiased, objective point of view, this very definition applies to us. In my own words, the definition of a parasite is: The parasite invades a host: (Well, this does not apply to us in the "invasion" type of way, we evolved here from an ape type, still...). The parasite robs th…

  9. Is a man with a gun or weapons considered the most powerful/strongest predator on earth. I mean with a weapons man seems to be unstoppable against any other animal in the wild? All it comes down to is skill of weaponry so also add SKILLFUL for one of the tools of the human predator as well the weaponry. Man can also go toe to toe with diseases and micro organisms via medicine slowly destroying it over time if a human was to be infected with it somehow. Man can also skillfully crush small bugs with bare hand and also catch snakes and bag them bitches. That's all I can think of for now with human abilities. What else do you think we can do? And restating my q…

  11. Time is just a concept made by man, so would it be possible to travel in back in time? The answer is no. But there are rifts, these rifts being... Black and White holes. Though traveling back in time is considered impossible, Traveling forward might just be possible. Black holes are singularities with gravity that can pull things in the hole at extreme speeds. White holes are considered the exit point of a black hole. If humans were to find a way to construct a ship strong enough to withstand the gravitational force and the debris of space, it could work. This is what I think. Please give me your opinions on both time travel and my theory. P.S. Please don't shut me down t…

  13. So I was having a discussion with one of my teachers and they mentioned along the way in my PhD, I would learn how to formulate and/or understand where a question is coming from, be able to solve it and know exactly when I arrive at a satisfactory conclusion. This would be quite a handy skill to develop from the get go itself, if I did not misconstrue the meaning. Any/all here know what I am speaking of and how I would inculcate such an ability?

Hello guys. I'm considering dropping out of high school. It's not because I don't like high school(I thoroughly enjoy it), or because I don't want to do the work, or anything like that. Particularly, I'm not progressing at an acceptable pace in my opinion. It's essentially a social gathering at this point. So recently I've been pondering dropping out of high school in January(The beginning of the 2nd semester), and then taking the test for my GED. Pennsylvania has a requirement that if you want to take the GED test and you're under 18, you can't be enrolled in any high school, and you have to have a letter of request from your current employer. My employer…

Baking powder + baking soda + lemon juice (acid) +... ?? Would you do the trial-and-error or there is some guessy science to it ?

  16. Just too tickle afew neurons here, went to a uni event on theories on the creation of the universe, I'm not going to lie, im a electronics engineer. Heard a lot of interesting things but it didn't really sit right with me, so this is most probably wrong, but here's a engineers guide on building a universe. a little story. A scientist is trapped in a warehouse filled full off cages, he sits in one of the cages , in the dark, wondering where he is. he shouts out for help and hears other people in the cages next to him, the scientist then reaches out one side of the cage, he feels someone, he shouts whats your name, the first person replied ying, then he reach…

The bible Book of Revelation contains prophecies of great destruction on the Earth and its population, those prophecies coming true in our day, this day, and the days to come. Scientific observations and predictions prove the accuracy of those prophecies. Destruction of the rivers, lakes, oceans through pollution, death of many people through Global Warming, a cataclysmic world war. What is your opinion? What should our reaction be? Is there hope for nations or individuals? ◄ Revelation 16 ► King James Bible Par ▾ …

  19. Hi. I am new, here. I am posting this, because I just wanted to get this off my chest. I am not looking to convince anybody, and, in fact, I won't even describe my idea, here. I just want to lament. Nonetheless, I have an idea, and personally, I find it fascinating enough to investigate. The problem is that I feel increasingly overwhelmed by the amount of work required to fully investigate it. Simply put, two years ago, I discovered an identity in classical field theory (not necessarily novel), which, to me, indicates a way to construct a certain physical theory. My ideas on this matter have matured enough so that I have actually written a crude simulation…

I am trying to find due South by the Sun ,but realize that it is not as simple as waiting for twelve o'clock and taking that as a reference. Even within the same time the sun will rise ,set and be due South at different times . How can I work this out just by using the lat/long measurements anywhere in the world?

Mods .. if you think this topic fits better someplace else feel free to move it. "If a star's negative gravitational energy balances its positive rest mass energy" the star has arisen from nothing, that forumula stopping Einstein dead in his tracks as he crossed a street at Princeton, vehicle having to stop to avoid hitting him. I believe it was Born who related the fomula to Einstein as they crossed the street. So yes, here we are talking about Jordan, despite an initial reception in the forum when I first presented his stars-from-nothing formula that said something like he should not be taken seriously because he thought the world was expanding; but someone …

Here, assuming you have a time machine. You bring a person age 30 back 30 years ago when he was born, knocked out his other consciousness in that world and have him born from age 0 with no memory, you've now completed a loop. The guy will forever grow to become age 30 and get transferred back to his birth with his memory erased, by you, and get re-borned. Over and over again. Stuck in the time loop
