Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Hello forum, I am having a slow day at work today and as I was reading the below article, my mind began to wonder. It would really help the conversation if you could go through the short paper copied below but also linked just under. I didn't want to add just a few quotes as it would be confusing. I was trying to find a ridiculous way to measure if lets say indeed c would change it's value. Let's wander a bit and take the assumption that starting tomorrow c will immediately change it's value. I mean what confuses me is that I could think of many barbaric ways to prove to you that c indeed changed or not given the above assumption. An example is given in th…

So the radiation is high enough. I have a tip for the reactor. Take balls that are soft enough with a core that are strong enough that the balls go down. Test it with a bucket. Nobody must use it and i have no problems. I have lost all. An important thing is that you know about the holes and you need much water that the balls go in the holes. And then smaller and smaller balls. The humans do much bad things with me. First of all its bad enough for all people on the world. New game, new cards.

  5. When you have two black holes where is the gravity exactly so strong as the other black hole. And then comes a photon that goes exactly to the zero point of gravity between the black holes. The photon is exactly in the middle of the two gravitys of the black holes, then it can go only to the zero point where the gravity abolishes between it. What happens with the photon? Does it stop?

In the model with the ball and the net, is the function correct, but the universe isnt a net and not two dimensional. And under the net must be gravity and the physicians want to explain the gravity with a net and a ball. Should be under the net another net? And under the net from the net still another net too? Then i can told the world is a disk and stands on infinetly turtles. The only posibility is that the gravity is three dimensional like a magnetic field, nothing other. Or should the room see like calabi yau? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calabi–Yau_manifold That is wrong too.

So, there's a lot of people saying that biological aging is actually a disease and that we may be able to cure it in the near future. My question is, which drug is most effective to take to reverse biological aging based on the information we have today? Metformin or NMN? Which anti-aging drugs/supplements do YOU take and why?

  8. Good news! Monopole magnets have been invented! Yes, this is true! The monopole magnet was invented by a physicist named Rick Smith. Here is his paper. https://zenodo.org/record/2203822#.XA-2E8B1Opo https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.7447604 The rocket is the main vehicles for human space flight at present. However, it has many disadvantages such as large size, high cost, great danger and limited speed. These shortcomings will be overcome, if monopole magnets applied to propulsion systems and deceleration systems of spacecrafts. The speed of this new type of spacecraft may reach one-tenth of the speed of light or higher. If monopole magnets applied to propuls…

    I bring to the forum the query made by a student at the school. - Newtonian gravitation. - Simple case of two equal spheres that gravitate to each other (equal masses). Let's write the Newtonian equation of gravitational force. [math]F = G \ \dfrac{m \ m}{r^2}[/math] Both masses are the same. Then there is the following. [math]F = G \ \dfrac{m^2}{r^2} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (1)[/math] We clear the mass in the equation of Newton's second law. [math]m = \dfrac{F}{a}[/math] We raise both members to the square. [math]m^2 = \dfrac{F^2}{a^2} \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ (2)[/math] In (1) we replace [math]m^2[/math] as indicated by (2). [math]F = G \ \dfrac{\d…

Digital Science is based on the concept that reality is virtual. Made by a computer. DS does not attempt to explain what kind of computer it is, who built it, or where it's located, it simply states that reality is virtual. Nobody in their right mind would accept that, without some kind of proof. The closest we can get to that is circumstantial evidence. And there's plenty of that. If you look. To me personally, quantum mechanics is a look behind the curtain. But there is much much more. Let's discuss it! I'll start. Don't you find it peculiar that we live in a quantum fluctuated universe of pure energy, where only the Higgs Boson makes things solid? I…

Hello All, I'm going to open a can of worms here with what the science suggests about the dreaming brain and how it might relate to near-death (NDE) and out-of-body (OBE) experiences. If I recall correctly, it was Michel Jouvet's decerebration experiments in the late 1960s that suggested no activity occurs cortically without a subcortical neural connection. Although the goal of his experiments were to determine the neurophysiological mechanisms of dreaming, the lack of spontaneous neural activity in the cortex without a subcortical neural link was significant in that it suggests all brain activity is a result of subcortical stimuli, which appears to confirm and co…

Case A: Ring with charge -2q turns and produces a magnetic field. Case B: A ring with charge -q rotates in the same direction as the ring in the previous case. A parallel ring with charge + q rotates in the opposite direction. Let's suppose that the rings are very thin and are very close together. Ideally we would say extremely thin and extremely close together. The angular velocity has the same modulus in all the rings. If I assume that the axes of rotation are all at rest relative to the observer and that Ampere's law is valid in both cases, then the magnetic field observed in case A and the magnetic field observed in case B are the same. Am I doing well here…

This is speculation on my part, though i believe this because this is where the hormones are triggered in the body. This is where emotions come to rest. They rest in the head, so they can be analyzed. They may be created throughout the entire body, but I feel that they come to the head to rest so that the thoughts can define why you feel this way, to absorb the status or the structure of the body and because the emotions come here and the thoughts are generated here and our belief systems lie here and our hormones are directed from here and, because we don’t fully understand how the brain functions, we’re not capable of rewiring it for optimum health. Would anyone ca…

  18. so, I hooked up a tiny LED to a 2 pieces D sized battery in series, they are almost dead by now as they've been stocked for more or less a year. At first I was reading 7.50 milliamps, then after more than 8 hours of the LED hooked up to the battery, I read the milliamps again and it reached 39.44 milliamps. Is this supposed to happen, does this happen normally? Don't ask me why I hooked up an LED to a battery for more than 8 hours, youll probably just laugh at me or not believe me or think im stupid.

What would happen if the Earth suddenly started spinning at the speed of light? Since its mass would go to infinity in infinitely small period of time, would it immediately turn into a black hole with infinite mass exerting such a gravitational force to start pulling the entire universe towards itself at lightspeed?

But because there has been little progress in figuring out exactly what dark energy is, the idea has since become more of a problem…

Nucleus of atoms expanding and recycling expanding pushing force which have a nature of expanding light. Expanding light moving faster and faster same way what matter and light expanding. Expanding space is naked empire. Eternal recycling working all a time "in" infinity 3 Dimension space which IS nothing. For recycling you need only pushing force. You can squeeze the pushing force denser. It succeeds with pushing force. With external pressure. The system decomposes / expands with less dense pushing force. By means of internal pressure. It is all what you need. You dont need bonding forces. No pulling force. No curving space. …

First of all, I want to know how the scientist distinguish whether a virus have injected the enzyme of their target into a cell. For instance Crispr, you only need one virus to deliver the package into the cell, not two, and definitely not more than that. So how does the scientists control such a mechanism in which the virus only deliver their cargo into the cell once? Apart from this question I want to open more opportunities as to how nanomachines could act like cargo trucks for delivery within our body.

What do you think would happen when consciousness swaps between two people? Do you think you still have the original memory in another person's brain or do you now have a new set of memories and personalities? Philosophically, if we cannot prove this then, our consciousness could be constantly swapping among each other, we just don't realize it because we take the personality and memory of the other person. But since this doesn't seems like the case, I'll need some explanation
