Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Theory of the propagation of a light Beam and it's Impact: Roger Dynamic Motion replied to Motion's topic in Speculations in the Science Forum : First; I have to point out: ''THE BEAN OF LIGHT'' has two functions , the light and the shock Wave . To the best of my understanding, the shock wave from the beam arise from the expansion of the source'' the tungsten'' ,compressing space, creating its own gravitational field, to impact on matter, the same way the presence of the Earth has created it own gravitational field witch is inversely proportional to its sises and composit…

I am a mere student in mathematics and physics and by no mean a specialist, however I am fascinated by the quantum gravity problem, so I've read a lot of documentation about it. I have learned the basic concepts of general relativity and quantum field theory and spent a lot of time trying to understand the intricate relationship between energy, mass, gravity and spacetime. Recently I have come up with a very simple idea that could explain what is the true nature of gravity and spacetime. What led me to this idea is one of the characteristics of the higgs field, its homogeneity. However, being a humble newbie, I realize my idea is almost certainly wrong. On …

In the field of elementary particle physics, the particle model seems to have been widely accepted, in which it is assumed that there exist extremely small elementary particles (regardless of whether point-like or string) in reality, and that the wave function is to give the existence probability of a particle. By double slit experiments, however, it is indicated that a single quantum can interfere with itself. With the particle model, it seems unreasonable to consider it explicable that interference fringes are to be formed in double slit experiments with flux of quanta that is so sparse that only a single quantum can be present at a time. [See, for example, …

A relative of mine has sent me their website asking for my opinion. After I've stopped laughing, I've decided that the only thing I can do is to ignore this request. If you have a better suggestion, please let me know. Here it is: CLO Life. Note to admins: I am not promoting this in any way. This is just for fun.

Negative mass/energy solutions are part of the virtual disconnect Feynman diagrams involving one particle "bubbles" in the vacuum. It were exactly these solutions that created the negative curvature of the 4-dimensional substrate on which two 3-dimensional universes banged into existence. The two massless basic quantum fields of nature and the seven gauge fields mediating between them, accelerated away from each other on both sides of the 4-dimensional Planck-sized "throat", or wormhole, connecting two infinite regions of 4-dimensional space. The negative energy of the virtual particle states caused the negative curvature of the initial singularity. Like the curvature on …

When I read these posts regarding mutations I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks that mutations are the mechanism by which DNA coding for new anatomical structures is created. it goes against all coding principles, garbage in, garbage out.

As this topic was aimed at believers in creation, I would like to respond. Observations like the ones you cite are secondary observations built on the assumption of naturalism. I use that word because my disbelief of evolution extends further than the accepted limited definition of the term evolution. I have never read anything that accepts that it is all built on assumptions and attempts to address those assumptions without citing gaps in knowledge. Evolution requires the proactive engineering of new body parts including self replicating DNA instruction code containing new and novel information sequences. Where is the evidence for that? virus immunity is not c…

In a previous thread an idea appeared that it might be helpful to quantify how similar/different are languages in their ways of grouping or referencing something. Here is a suggestion for such a metric. It could be formalized, but it is not a point now. The point is, to see if this metric represents a 'distance' between languages in this respect. The metric starts on a case-by-case basis. Take two languages, R and T, and two objects, x and y. If x and y are called the same in R then R(xy)=0. If they are called differently, then R(xy)=1. The same for T: T(xy)=0 or T(xy)=1. Now we take RT(xy)=|R(xy)-T(xy)| being a distance between R and T on x and y. If it is 0, they a…

I assume that words in a language represent concepts in the brain. The concepts seem to be discrete categories made up by the brain from a continuous experience, more or less arbitrarily. Here are some examples: the English concepts 'shade' and 'shadow' correspond to one concept in Russian, represented by the word 'tien' the English concepts 'table' and 'desk' correspond to one concept in Russian, 'stol' the English basic color 'blue' doesn't have a corresponding concept in Russian, but is rather covered by two distinct basic color concepts, 'sinij' and 'goluboj' I hypothesize that other animals perceive and process outside world as a continuous …

it is said that when a mass of matter is completely converted into energy it is as follows: E=mc^2 c = 299,792,458 m/s ~ 300,000 km/s m is mass (kg) E energy (Joule) ==> 1kg ~ 9 x 10^16 Joules But to completely convert matter into energy, nothing is as easy as exploiting the nuclear fuel Uranium 235 and some similar elements... Actually, from my understanding, all matter can react chemically to change the substance. Simply, the electrochemical reaction in a battery of just a few grams can produce millions of kWh, Uranium is just because the reaction density is so low that they produce a lot of energy. This is just a way of understanding the …

If the space in our solar system is curved by the sun's mass, and planets orbit on said curvature of space-time, then how is it possible that the planets orbit in the same plane ? Which is flat. If Einsteins theory is correct, then no such flat plane should exist in our solar system. And the planets orbits should be on a curved space instead of a flat space, with their orbits stacked one on top the other as they fall deeper and deeper in the 'curvature of space-time'. Like in the illustration below where I added two more orbits to see how they stack up (the original only had one, and I cannot for the life of me find an illustration of GR with more than one plan…

Light is an electro-magnetic wave and has Energy (E=h*f) Like any wave, the light wave looses some of this energy as it passes vast distances of space (due to interactions with free electrons, plasma, gas clouds, and so on). As it looses energy, its frequency automatically decreases- because E=h*f, where h= constant (of Planck) As its frequency decreases, light is shifted to red- because red light has the lowest frequency of the visible light spectrum. Therefore, Hubble's interpretation of galactic redshift as a Doppler effect/recessional velocity is wrong. The universe is NOT expanding and modern cosmology is in an universal error of intergalactic pro…

So I had an idea, let’s say Voyager’s warp core could run at 96% efficiency like in TNG, we could convert then that 4000 teradynes -> 40 giganewtons -> 38.4 gigawatts. Which would then power the ship’s systems and, if it works how I think it does, make a warp field. While also shooting warp plasma through the warp coils that make a warp bubble? I just thought that it was an interesting idea.

So with the advent of coronavirus comes new insights into existing conditions which to date have yet to be fully explained. Indeed, some conditions like chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia are often met with ridicule by GPs the country over, with friends and associates left wondering if there is really anything wrong with suffers of these conditions at all. What is lesser known, however, is that scientific tests have shown that people suffering from these conditions have very real and physical differences in their bodies compared to that of a healthy individual. Briefly, these changes include mitochondrial damage, small fiber neuropathy, and elevated homocysteine levels.…

Warp drive is possible by folding space all around the ship using extremely strong magnetic fields. It requires a ship larger than a city. Warp drive is basic folding, however if you tesselate the warp field, and then cone out and spin the tessellation you can go from one end of the universe to the other instantly. When travelling through warp you cannot smack into anything (it protects the speed of light because the smack would be faster than that). If you hit the edge of the universe you just bounce off. The ships have to be a critical size (very massive bigger than a city) in order to establish a proper warp bubble with their drives. check out my …

Before the Big Bang, there is what can be described mathematically as a single point of infinite energy. To reach this "point" would require a journey back through infinite space and time. No relativistic observer could ever make this journey. No matter how far you travel, you will remain infinitely far away, encountering higher and higher energy physics as you go. This "point" of infinite energy (+∞) is the source of all things. At the opposite end of the spectrum, is an infinite expanse void of energy (the vacuum). To reach this place, would require a journey forward through infinite space and time. No relativistic observer could ever make this journey. No matter how fa…

A meter, a kilogram, or a second are all units made up by our ancestors that from my perspective we now take for granted. Each can be further subdivided (centimeters (1/100), millimeters (1/1000), nanometers (1/ 1 billion) ... 1/∞; gram (1/1) , milligram (1/1000), nanogram (1/1 billion)... 1/∞ or accumulated (meter (1*1), kilometer (1*1000)... 1*∞). No matter what unit you come up with, you can describe anything relevant to the type of unit (space, time, or both) but never accurately. The Singularity is at the heart of every unit. In order to describe the Singularity (fundamental reality) you need infinite precision. So the nature of language and mathematics points to an …

The progress towards a unified and invariant theory of physics has stagnated due to inadequate logic gaining consensus. This essay points out some of the fallacies that are established to various degrees in contemporary quantum mechanics, and suggests a direction moving forward to correct for these errors.
