Speculations

Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

    1. In the laboratory on Earth, the 2 m long cylinder was filled with air at 20 atmospheres pressure. After opening the small measuring valve, the pressure in the cylinder drops to 10 atmospheres after 200 seconds. Questions: 1. What pressure will be present in this cylinder placed, along the direction of travel, in a spacecraft flying at 260,000 km /s? According to relativity theory at 260,000 km/s, the cylinder length will be contracted to 1 meter. 2. After what time, according to the light clock on the ship, the pressure in the cylinder will drop to half the value after opening the measuring valve? 3. What will be the above valu…

How can a electron, being a single point in space, have mass? If it has an infinitely small volume while having a certain mass then wouldn't that mean that it would have infinite density? I don't know I am probably wrong, maybe missing something.

As required by the Modulator I have started a new thread for you in Speculations. This is blatantly untrue as I specifically requested this one hour previously. Which is why I am asking you to explain and define the three terms, I have underlined below, you have introduced that I (and probably many others here) are not familiar with. In particular the re-propulsion idea. Are you, for instance, proposing that the same photon is emitted or what after a photo-atomic and photo-electron event ? I think Marcus is referring to change …

Perhaps time is subject to wave particle duality. Time dilation (especially gravitational time dilation) might point to particle behavior of time. Light interacts with a gravitational field just like time. ..and light is made of photons(particles). Time dilation is in a sense related to the dopplereffect....they are both about the effect of relative velocity between two observers(this is very simplified of course). And according to Wave–particle duality ..particles or quantum entities can be(partly) described as waves. So when you find time particles, then time is subject to wave particle duality I found this video about it:

has any thought been given to dark "matter" being not made of some alternative type matter, but is a collection of "squeezed space" itself, mimicking the presence of an invisible material ? If space is thought to be expanding, why can't it shrink at some points within that general expansion? if the early universe had some regions of space that were slightly denser, in a random placement among "normal" space, these slightly altered space components could seek each other out, thus clumping, and so be incorporated within galaxy formations, thus speeding up the stellar rotation rates.

If time is a wave many mysteries of quantum mechanics are solved instantly We notice many strange unexplained mysteries in quantum mechanics such as : Electron jumps as if it didn’t cross the distance ,disappear and appear . Pair entanglement mystery Matter and anti matter measurement mystery 2 split experiment Photon as a wave or a quanta Electron spin right or left We tend to think about time as if it flows in straight line from past to future smoothly What if time is actually a wave that moves in frequency (i suggest to test the frequency as Plank constant)time ticks and flow as a wave.during this ticks it flows faster …

The rate at which any process can unfold is limited by the rate at which time passes. This is why the speed of light has a maximum value.

OK, so this is the stuff of sci-fi. But I would like to know whether it would theoretically be possible, however unlikely or experimental, for water to be transported from the oceans and away from the Earth via a wormhole and into (for instance) the orbit space? If there is some sort of theoretical model to allow this, would it be possible with a large quantity of water? And what exactly would be the scientific model behind this? For instance, I have read about a wormhole being used to transport a magnetic field, could the same thing be done with water? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/scientists-in-spain-create-first-ever-magnetic-wormhole-in-l…

  11. It's difficult for me to get my head around this. What force moves the galaxies along with space time? One would think that space time would just flow around the galaxies. Are galaxies moving with space time because of dark energy?

is extraterrestrial, it(s origin) does NOT come from this world (earth). Or does it? I suspect nickel is a fusion product from the intense heat of (some) material entering the earth's atmosphere. Keyword: atmosphere. Asteroids are smaller objects without a significant atmosphere. The moon's atmosphere is also (probably) insignificant, as seen from fotos (dark background, no blue sky, nor clouds). But dust (from impacts), & impacts into sand can also get hot, as something (=material, other than air) to rub against (for the friction(al heat production))). Cosmic rays have been r…

There can be up to 3 people given a Nobel for the same work, the languages that exist are much to arbitrary and I need assistance with proofs and formulas that will backup the things in this post which it and my other work are the most important work being done in any field if you could see how far-reaching and applicable these things are going to be. The membranes that are the fields of force that are what make up the dementions of space dont allow for the exsistance of any cardinal angles, there are no Cardinal angles that exist in all of existence there are only Cardinal curves, if you had sufficient magnification that was precise and accurate enough and inspected the…

A Logical Perspective on the Origins of Homo sapiens sapiens A genetically created, biological procreating, environmentally nurtured humanoid The Origins of Homo sapiens sapiens, otherwise known as humanoids or humans, has been a controversial subject for eons and eons. Or to be more exact, ever since any particular isolated group of humans became sufficiently nurtured by their environment to begin questioning their own origins or existence. There are three (3) schools of thought concerning the origins of humans. The 1st one is based in/on Religious beliefs that the heavens, the earth and everything upon the earth is the …

This is not a question, whereas it is an exercise. I would like to create a new language, one that is very simple and entirely based upon solely the English language. It has to be very simple and very efficient in informing another individual about what they are saying. It can use certain symbols but it must be able to be traced back to English words and terms. I do not have a name for it, just want to create it with people I have never met who are interested in the sciences and brain stuff.

  18. Hi, I have a new idea about how to mix them, but i'm not a physicist and definitely not able to put math on it.. What if, instead of "curving space", density of matter would define the dimension (the Hamel dimension, not only integer) of space. Instead of having a "curved space", it would be a space "of varying local dimension", and of course, in first approximation at our scale, it would fit to the description of a curved space. (but it could also go higher than 4)... (I can picture this kind of space by viewing as a infinite graph with more or less links between nodes..) So now at quantum scale, it would allow to have a higher dimensional space where particles …

  22. I suggest a simple way to understand the "problem of the cosmological constant" or "the vacuum catastrophe" .Yours opinions are welcome. first, the volumetric density of energy of the quantum vacuum equals for example: [latex]\frac{E_p}{l_p^3}=\frac{\hbar /t_p}{l_p^3}=4,6*10^{113}Joules/m^3[/latex] [latex]t_p=c/l_p[/latex] [latex]\Large{\frac{\hbar*(c/l_p)}{l_p^3}=\frac{\frac{\hbar^2*(c^2/l_p^2)}{l_p^{3*2}}}{\frac{\hbar*(c/l_p)}{l_p^3}}}=4.6*10^{113}Joules/m^3[/latex] (1) [latex]\Lambda=1.11*10^{-52}m^{-2}[/latex] [latex]\text{Planck force} = F_p= c^4/G=1.2*10^{44}Newtons[/latex] the volumetric density of energy of the dark…

A rupti stunt Stella gravitas. Or burst of stars with gravity. This discovery I made while testing out some galaxy ideas. This “hole” is a mixture of a black hole and a theorized white hole. As it bursts stellar objects such as stars, planets or other cosmic objects but while doing that it still holds a stellar body such as a galaxy together with its gravity of a black hole. It’s completely theoretical but it is possible. Let me know -Keaton Anderson
