Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

My hyphotesis is: our world is made of infinite universes, our universe is only one of the infinite. Big bangs are happening all the time, of course huge distances away from eachother. In the so called cold death of our universe the supermassive black holes (from the local galaxy clusters) continue to travel with huge speeds outwards from the centre of our big bang. In the far future some of them will slowly evaporate, but some of them will inevatibly "collide" and merge with other supermassive black holes from other universes. These merging black holes will grow bigger and bigger until they reach a critical mass which results in a new big bang. And this goes on forever i…

The doppler effect only deals with 'observable' wave behavior. The Austrian physicist Christian Doppler described this phenomenon in 1842. Redshift is often 'defined' as doppler redshift. Cosmological redshift is for example also defined as being due to the doppler effect. In the doppler effect, sound waves are treated the same way as electromagnetic radiation...very odd. There is this 'theory' you can call "Compton redshift" which states that Compton(inelastic) scattering causes Cosmological redshift.

Here is the Video of the Experiment... Here the parts for the reactor and the finished reactor. The cathode after the test, it is from steel. When you want Details for the Experiment you can look here: http://jlnlabs.free.fr/cfr/diycfr/index.htm End at the end, i messeaurd 133 Wh of Output energy and the Input Energy is 141 Wh. So i dont have more Energy, as i put in it.

Hello Everyone! I'm new to the forum and I'd like to pose my first question. Something I have not yet found a good answer to. I'm hoping for some input from geology/chemistry or any other members with relevant knowledge. OK here goes: How long, at least in theory, would it take for the planet to be completely "scrubbed" of all traces of human civilization/activity. In other words, is it possible through the elapse of specific timespan, to never be able to tell that human beings once had a civilization here on earth? Thanks in advance!

Imagine floating on the surface of a very, seemingly infinitly, deep and wide ocean. There are currents in this ocean, but the surface of the water seems to be completely still. The sky is always blue with no clouds, yet you never see the sun. You never feel a breeze nor gust, even when you are propelling yourself forward. Every now and then you see boats and other objects leisurely, drifting past, but nothing seems to leave a wake. Would you know you are moving? Now what if the surface wasn't the ocean but time, and your movement is your movement through time? What if you had a way to anchor? This hypothesis is based on a few ideas: 1) Einstein's Theory of Sp…

Hi, I know people are trying to perfect human cloning, but I had an idea of how we might and was wondering if I could get someone to tell me if I'm right or wrong without getting my work stolen(assuming it is accurate).

Thousands of molecules are in the chemical trash after they have passed the screen of experimentation, losing the category of useful molecules. When we come to biochemistry we find hundreds of favorable molecules whose knowledge has allowed us to solve many personal problems. I feel this concept of favorable molecules as a challenge, something like judo when facing adversity. Could molecules constructed with piracetam, magnesium and fluorine or lorazepam, magnesium and fluoride be biologically useful, for example, in the treatment of cancer? I have no responsibilities in basic research, I just have the duty to know the state of the art in my profession. It's the shar…

Studiot. I am curious to know your answer: where are gone two electric charge of "electron" and "positron" when they are annihilated. Are they really annihilated? And by the way ---- even their mass.

I plan on getting some engineering degrees, so I can become an inventor and invent things to change the world for the better as well as sell products and offer free products on the open marketplace and to non-profits so that the world can be better off than I found it. I have long dreamed of doing this and hope to accomplish this as it is a dream I hold close to my heart. Anyway I will be attempting through science and technology to create tech that improves the lives of everyone rich or poor regardless of status or monetary allotment. I will also find ways to work on provisional patents for upgrades and updates to and add-ons to many of the current patents are …

Check this out first please . Well one of my friends brother who passed out class 10 wrote it. Is it correct or is it just a good attempt by a 15 yr old I know it's out of topic but since I've decided to discuss my so called theories on this forum I'd like it to start with this I'd be very obliged if you all could just review and express your views about the paper. Is the big bang and evolutionary theory sciences theory of everything, it looks like a theory of everything to me. It looks like it a theory of everything because it explains everything doesn't it? Yes there are gaps in our knowledge, but the overarching story is tight is it not?

In standard Big Bang cosmology, the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR) originated about 13 billion years ago. Subsequently, it will be visible at a distance of 13 billion light years from its origin. Our own galaxy has only moved a much shorter distance from a place close to this origin since then. My question is how it can be that we, nevertheless, still can see this radiation. Text books assure us that the CMBR is a blackbody radiation that expands with the universe and so becomes more long-waved. This would require either that the universe was (1) infinite or (2) surrounded by a reflecting wall or (3) expanding like the surface of an inflating balloon. A…

I am 42 now but when I was about 23 I had what I believed was a profound realisation about the universe, I still think about it today and it is no less profound to me. This realisation was related to what science calls the theory of everything. It wasn't and isn't a theory like todays, but it is an idea, an insight into how the universe is actually doing what it does. Although I am not classically trained in physics this does not mean I am bad at maths or can't read about the maths, its just not that important to this insight. In fact, the insight is about explaining why the universe is mathematical in the first place. Anyway, this realisation took about 6 years to unfold…

The essay, "Debunking Physics and Discovering Forever (A Rational and Materialist Perspective of the Fundamental nature of the Universe)" is located at home.spin.net.au/paradigm/essay.pdf “For a completely consistent and connected understanding of the Universe, you need to begin from the most fundamental rational and materialist perspective that’s possible. With its over-riding commitment to mathematics and measurements and other abstractions, the physics establishment is an abstractionist paradigm that’s not completely rational and materialist and doesn’t begin from the most fundamental perspective. By adopting a completely rational and materialist and truly fundame…

Hi everyone, My name is David and I just wanted to share my thoughts, thx. The universe is accelerating because as time ticks forward, more "dark matter" is being created. I think "dark matter" is actually more than a single thing, I believe it's combination of two elements. The "DB" elements. The origin of "dark matter" or The "DB" Elements comes from the same place everything else does, dying stars. If you measure the mass of a dying star, then measure the mass of what we can measure after it dies. You will find much of the matter appears to be missing. This is because we can not currently detect The "DB" Elements. I look forward t…

Hi. Some questions have been installed in my head. 1. In what is transformed a material subjected to a pressure that overcomes the atomic cohesion? 2. There are tables dedicated to the maximum pressure that each material supports without losing its basic constitution. 3. There are enough data on our planet and other astronomical objects to calculate the pressure as a function of the radial coordinate, inside the body of the object. In the case of our planet, it would be the pressure at a point below the planetary surface. 4. Is there any known material, natural or artificial, capable of withstanding the pressure in points that are deeper than a certain limit? …

In the animation’s right side (or half): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MichelsonMorleyAnimationDE.gif Why does the red (ball) go faster than c? Speed (v=d/t) is distance (d) per time (t). & the left animation (clearly) shows that the red ball moves (diagonally (up & then down)) faster than the wave(_speed c). (Simply compared:) The ball is moving faster than the waves. E.g. That (right_side’s red) ball travels more distance (diagonally); than the waves (can) do in the same amount of time. I.e. longer (diagonal) path, compared to the horiz…

This thread is simply an application of Newton's gravitational law and of the two corresponding shell theorems. Why have I decided to place the subject in Speculations? Because in this section, if a debate is initiated, there is more freedom to expose opinions. In physics we can take the laws and theorems individually. In that way we obtain pieces of information, comparable with the pieces of a puzzle. Sometimes a problem requires applying laws and / or theorems jointly. This minimizes the amount of free parameters and, for that reason, reveals details that do not appear in individual applications, or in cases that are resolved by applying a less numerous set o…

Without considering Earth magnetic field(the charged ball is only attracted by gravity), It does not emit radiation. The key point is: any charge accelerated by only one force will not emit energy. IT emits energy only when it's being decelerated. Or when it's being exerted by more than one force. A typical case is that the charge is running in circular track. The charge gains energy while being accelerated, releases energy while being decelerated. The universe is too perfect to just come about by any kind of random actions. The idea of a pre-existing matrix from which the universe emerged is not the beginning of the universe. This would just a mark a phase of the universe becoming. The statisitical probability that the universe just appeared by itself is a virtual zero. I have worked out the probability and there is just no way it could occur randomly, no matter what some would prefer. Science is not based upon taboos, just observations and data. If it is taboo to say that there was a pattern to which the universe complied then science is wrong as this is the only true explanation, If that requires a God for some …

11 hours ago, Capiert said: If I multiplied force by time, instead I would get momentum, which I would prefer (& trust more). Swansont suggested (from my Fiv thread) OK. Solve some problems involving thermodynamics with conservation of momentum. Go ahead. Try it. Or even a block sliding down an inclined plane with friction. Or an elastic collision, without involving energy. That, too, has limits on practicality. Here goes. A few assumptions are necessary. Collision takes time: While colliding the 2 balls are: in contact with each other for a specific duration time (amoun…

Goal: To use the parallel nature of a cellular automata and convert it to an infinite grid with infinite speed. The idea is that a single long line (infinite) in B3/S12456 breaks up in space consistently while sweeping past the screen, it has to sweep past an infinite traveller that criss crosses through the grid outside the bounded area in an imaginary area that relies on the way cellular automata are. All cellular atuomata fractally decrease in size so if you have large worm shapes at the start, they get smaller and smaller with no real change. My idea is that by having a line sweep through, you can make an infinitely large grid of the same basic pattern repeated, bu…
