Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Just the simple scan read is pretty comical when related to science. Calculus a art or fill in the blank with what this guy knows and add to what my guy knows so i can say this is what i know. As stated "Creationist" a misunderstanding of a moral guideline to create a perception that is formulated to create happiness even if at the bottom and the some of the high knowledge achievable through perception lost by unopenmidness. Before i start yes there is some glimmer of truth in known physics the successful creations by engineers are proof of that fact, however to all those that think the current physics will stand in time are being "silly". People have mapped …

Hello All, I'm compiling the meta data for inclusion in my next book but I thought I might briefly describe the process here for your blistering criticism before I do. Well, here go: The whole of healthy brain function is predicated on it's ability to maintain its metabolic homeostasis, which is its ability to maintain its metabolic balance. Through conscious cognitive activity, sleep emerges in the brain from an accumulation of interstitial waste (adenosine) which affects its ability to process or metabolize blood nutrients. This accumulation occurs amid brain volume swelling by as much as 6% from the previous sleep cycle. This swelling is likely a conseque…

Hi, We quoted trusted sources that claim there are several/many parallel worlds within the cosmos that are exactly such as each one on us! Also it contains several hidden civilizations side by side of our civilizations on the same earth we live!! that are soooo much more advanced than us! But i researched those the powerful/highest-ranked/greatest sources of the Science and didn't find the Third parallel life that i wanna seek/ask and i have to ask that here of sources of 21th-century's science! Well, Do we have any Life/Families like to our Lifes/Families on the same civilization on the earth!?? I thought about that since: I watched the…

Gravity and Human Evolution The advent of bipedalism would result in increased activation of specific facial antigravity reflexes. The actions of the muscles involved are known to increase dopamine levels. Dopamine is believed to be a central foundation of human brain evolution. Increasing dopamine levels increases levels of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) the ‘neuron fertiliser’ with transgenerationally heritable consequences. This suggests (1). an explanation for why our dopamine rise when we stand, (2). a mechanism by which the advent of bipedalism could initiate transgenerational increases in brain growth (3). an explanation for why bipedalism precede…

Another reason time will terminate All electromagnetic energy terminates with distance. Electricity going through a cable diminishes and terminates with distance. Radio waves terminate at a certain distance. A sound wave through Doppler Effect stretches with distance from the source and eventually loses noise. Light from blue shift to red shift loses energy in an elongated wave length and eventually terminate in travel. That is why the more distant stars are dimmer in light than the closer stars. The light from the more distant stars lose intensity with a greater distance to span. Even light from further stars do not make it to our skies because at that distan…

wrt the initial_speed vi; & relativistic if you (only) swap (=reverse) its perspective from wrt earth's minimum_speed 0 to wrt earth's maximum_speed c. Reversing the Kinetic_energy (perspective) KE=m*v*va (wrt Earth’s_speed), *(-1)' gives -KE'=m'*(-)*v'*va' (wrt light’s_speed) which is already relativistic. Please notice if I let c=v+u, u=c-v, u=-v', (prime_symbol ‘ is wrt light’s_speed) then the (negative) speed_difference (wrt light’s_speed), is -v'=-(vf'-vi')=vi'-vf' & the average_(accelerated)_speed (wrt light’s_speed), is va'=(vi'+vf')/2 for initial…

Hubble explained he discovered other galaxies accelerating away from our milky way galaxy but could it be that those galaxies are being pulled away by the gravitational pull of other galaxies? It is a fact that the Andromeda galaxy is pulled toward our galaxy by gravity and gravity accelerates the direction of the pull. Perhaps it is not that space is spreading the galaxies away at an accelerated pace but rather other galaxies are pulled by an accelerated gravitational force towards each other away from us much like andromeda galaxy is being pulled towards our milky way galaxy. just a thought.

I’ve been wondering about the significance of generating interference fringes of 3d representations of “fresnel zones”. Would the parameters used in generating high res fresnel zones be useful in describing wave functions in the same way an actual zone plate would be? It's hard to imagine the math in the code wouldn’t be in some way related to the actual physical phenomena if the result is visually identical, but perhaps I’m mistaken. I’ve been exploring a 3d object and stumbled upon some emergent interference fringes (the fringes are not programmed intentionally) and I’m wondering if that means the object could be useful for modeling waves, wave interactions etc. Here’s …

I originally was going to make it only about this NGE scene, but I think using TV as a jumping point for talking about real-life medical issues would be a worthwhile theme to repeatedly revisit, so I'd like to make this a megathread if moderators are okay with this. Without giving too much away, one of these characters is a clone of a member of the other character's immediate family, but neither of them knows it yet. One would think that genetics alone would prevent that kind of attraction that... seems to be what's being portrayed here. And yet, it occurs. It makes sense evolutionarily that something with risks of birth def…

I am asking about possible drift of personality traits. If we have a small founder population (200-500 individuals) who just happen to say, less neurotic or more extroverted (I'm talking about Big Five traits which are hereditary) would it be possible that the population will shift in distribution of said traits?

Presume temporarily, for the sake of hypothesis, that there was an afterlife, and that this afterlife existed separately from time. Now, say the life of a friend or loved one meets its end, and in an effort to see them once more, you travel back in time via a Tipler Cylinder. Would the soul of the person in question reside in their past body, or would it remain in the afterlife which exists separately from time?

Ok... I am a medieval guy living approx 1300 AD. I've had a vision that the Chrisitan God is false and in reality Satan more worthy of worship. I set up an altair in my house consisting of a goat's head and a Pentagram. I gather a small group of followers and start practicing the religion. The practices are rather minimalistic, just invoking "Ave Satan!", homosexual sex and self flagellation. After some time someone denounces me to the authorities.... what happens?

What if meta-cognition is the brain thinking about the concept it has formed of itself just as how the brain thinks about the formed concepts it has developed of different objects inside of its environment. And instead of the brain thinking of the brain thinking of the brain recursively the brain thinks of different cognitive objects in which it has direct mirrored control over such as say a hand or an arm which surmise to a singular entity it has formed and connected it to a concept learned known as "itself." Learning in this case just implies that the language and working for the word "itself" has been acquired through some sensory means.

I just had an idea. What if gravity is two forces instead of one? The primary force: An incompatibility between spacetime and matter. Spacetime repelling matter. The secondary force: Matter attracting matter. Being the same it wants to unite. (Surrounded by repelling spacetime.) It's a bit like water and oil. Stupid?

Imagine that we attach a label to each elementary particle in the Universe, each label having a unique natural number ... In this model, everything who can be send in past is represented a series of labels. If a thing is sent back in time...a phone for exemple (we assume that it contains the elementary particles with the numbers 7 and 1003) then we will find in the past, simultaneously these elementary particles twice, in the same Universe and at the same time. Do you think it is possible?

Lots of folks say time flows faster the older you are. That's ofc a subjective illusion. Is there some subset of population for whom its' the other way around?

How can one use the power of epigenetics to cure skin diseases and spots. If can somehow change my beliefs this could activate my dormant genes. My mind says "i am not a spotty hairy person". Then the gene instructions can be changed. Thanks

A hypothesis about the formation of maintains By Jun Liu Key words: asteroid collision, chemicals, gravity links The author of the black hole of science on **.com published an article for *** on April 12. NASA announced the collision of two galaxies; original text. Interesting exploration news in the 1880s. The famous astronomer Herschel is in the constellation of Hercules. A strange super galaxy was discovered with a very different shape. This one was named NGC6052. However, due to the limitations of the current technological level, Herschel did not discover the secret of the birth of this strange galaxy in his lifetime and regretted it for life. From…

All speculative science only like mathematics and so on. If the model is a generalization of experience, then it is real natural science. And astronomy is still considered as such At least formal Only that it is not found on the surface of the earth (leaving aside the question of correct measurement for now)? By the way, in my personal opinion, the wave nature of light is direct evidence of aether, because a wave outside the environment is an oxymoron So, in my personal opinion, the evidence of aether is exists

We know that there are people with very good memories. There also people with extremely vivid imagination who can basically experience their imagined world as if it was real. IT's called hyperphantasia. Would it be feasible to create (say via gene editing) a human being who would have a memory so good that he would remember every second of his life and experience it like a movie/

I’ve always been skeptical about the idea that all the particles in the universe were always present, but were once confined into a very small place, which then supposedly gave rise to the Big Bang. It’s as if supporters of this idea can’t seem to leave Fred Hoyle's ‘static universe’ hypothesis, by continuing to assume that there is this fixed, unchanging amount of particles in the universe. The opposite of this idea is of course that the universe went from 1 to 2 particles, and eventually lead to the vast amount of matter and energy we have today. The total number of particles in the visible universe is estimated to be 3,3 x 10^88. Well, living organisms evolve b…
