So, the US is unilaterally pulling out of the Iran deal that was designed to keep Iran from developing nuclear capabilities. As it stands, pretty much all the other signees (UK, Germany. France, China, Russia) are committed to continue. Although Iran has signaled that it would adhere to the terms, there are worries that the deal may be undercut. If the deal is falling apart, there is no reason for Iran to adhere to nuclear restrictions. Also, so far the US has not indicated what they want to see in its place, nor what the actual consequences are going to be, once they are out. Theoretically, the US may sanction companies from other countries if they continue dealings…

We had a very disturbing incident in Toronto, Canada, this past Monday. A man rented a cargo van, and on a beautiful spring day, drove it onto the sidewalk, and ran down multiple people on a busy street. He managed to kill 10 ( 8 women and 2 men ) and injured another 14. It was not called a terror attack because there was no political motivation, although it generated the same results. As more information came out during the week, we learned that this man belonged to a group who call themselves Incels ( for INvoluntary CELibate ). They have their own internet forums/chat rooms and call regular people ( who can form/have relationships 'Chads' and 'Stacys'.…

I found out in Canada that people can be transgender age. Do any Canadians feel like explaining how that works? Like, I'm 15. If I wanted to be 21 and go get drunk, is there paperwork I have to sign or can I just do it? Can I go back to 15 when I'm done? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjC3zBKgL3M I mean this guy was 52. She became 8 years old. Then she decided to become 6 years old. Also, what about other legal opportunities? Does she have to go back to kindergarten? What if she changes her mind in between? Is it discrimination to deny her from going to kindergarten if she wants to? Also, the 6-year-old girl…

Hello, I am a student from Social Media and I need your feedback in order to complete my project. My main idea, i.e., my topic is that the Tibet-China Conflict is kinda related to education inequity in this two countries, not only between both countries, also within them. I am planning to do a poster, but I don't know what to put on it yet. Based on my topic what would you recommend me to put in my poster. Thanks in advance.

In the past year we have seen the Acting Attorney General Sally Yates fired and the Director of the FBI fired. Trump openly attacked the current Attorney General Jeff Session and the DOJ on twitter and in interviews for not investigating his political rivals until they relented and launched new probes into Hillary Clinton. Now the Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe ,whom's wife Trump has attacked on social media, has resigned. Meanwhile the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release a classified memo Republicans believe show corruption within the FBI. Comey has already testified under oath that Trump had told him he expect loyalty. Trump has ope…

630 × 354 - motherjones.com - Jeb Bush's height is listed as 6'3 - Don King, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are all listed as 6'2 - Obama is listed as 6'1 I understand that this is stupid and conspiratorial - to claim the Trump and his doctor are lying about Trump's height . I also understand that the above photos are not empirical proof of anything as camera angle, shoes, posture, and etc all impact how tall someone looks. That said I am troubled by the idea that a military doctor would bold face lie to the public. It troubles me that I can't trust anything that comes from my govt. Even something silly as Tr…

It looks like Trump is flipping out over his lawyer getting raided by the FBI. Michael Cohen kept recordings of conversations!!! Then on top of that parts of Comey's new book are released. He compares Trump to a Mafia "Don" and his team as gangsters adhering to a family code of silence and spin. So here is Trump's latest Tweet on 4-13-18: James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH. He is a weak and..... ....untruthful slime ball who was, as…

Hey, guys! I happen to live in Croatia. I know that the American conservatives claim that it's justified for the US to be involved in a war because it brings people freedom and capitalism. So, I have a serious question about it. How do the American conservatives respond to the notion that the America's involvement in the Yugoslav Wars (the bombings of Belgrade) is responsible for the recent rise of socialism (as an opposition to the "capitalism") in Croatia? To me, that notion appears quite plausible. Not everyone knows this, but more people were killed in the bombings of Belgrade than in of Vukovar. And the war was, by the time of the bombings of Belgrade, …

Venezuela, whose economy is in shambles, is often quoted as an example of a socialist economy and of the unworkability of socialism, however, from what I understand, the country DOES allow private enterprise, it's just that the state controls the commanding heights of the economy, the utilities and the big oil reserves. However, from what I understand, the same is true in Norway, which I think is doing quite well. On the other hand the Index of Economic Freedom has Norway as the 23rd freest economy, while Venezuela is beating out only North Korea. So what's the difference between these two? PS Here's an article on the Norwegian economy if anyone's…

Most people here do NOT like Trump. I will let Hillary Clinton to be the president. And Hillary Clinton's supporters can get what they ask for. --- such as welcoming1 million refugees in 2018. -- She will continue to give $500 Billion/year to China. -- More political correctness stuff. ..."Latinos have passed whites as the largest ethnic group in California in 2015. California, in 2015, white population was 38%. Texas, in 2015, white population was 43%. Florida, in 2015, whites population was 45.7%". They need more Latinos and Blacks and East Asians here. just let Hillary Clinton's supporters get what they ask for. …

I was talking about the women's rights movement and some of the things it has accomplished, and the subject of women not being required to register for the draft came up. Should women be required to register for the draft? If so, should they get leniency in assigned roles, such as not being assigned to combat roles if they opt out of it?

Moorish ruled Spain, 711-1492, 781 years. Islam in Spain, Wikipedia There were 4 million Spanish slaves. After Spain gained it freedom, Africans still took 1 million Spanish slaves for another 250 years (1530 to 1780). The greatest Spanish writer, Cervantes was a slave in Algiers, he was ransomed. I want to know if other countries suffer the way the US does when a political party gains power and doesn't support the functions of certain government departments. Right now, many of the agencies that protect US citizens from consumer fraud, environmental hazards, workplace dangers, veterans affairs, and emergency disaster management are being stripped of their effectiveness, and it seems wrong to me on many levels. It's wrong to have FEMA in the first place if you aren't going to take it seriously. It's wrong to have agencies we pay for no matter what, and then have all their clout and effectiveness removed. And let me just say it outright. In my lifetime, I've se…

In the thread "Gun Control, which side wins?" John Cuthber made this remark . . . . you can legislate for better gun control, and you can't legislate for "better culture" . . . I reflected on that and reached the conclusion he was probably mistaken. It would have taken the thread off-topic to discuss there, hence this new thread. I support my doubt with a couple of examples,, both from the UK, both relating to automobile safety. 1. When I got into a car in the UK in the second half of the 60s and put on my seat belt, I automatically apologised to the driver for wearing one, noting that it was not because I thought he was an incompetent driver, but because of t…

Okay, haven't started a topic in a long time. Anyways. Some of you may know that I plan to run as a politician one day soon, and a potential sponsor told me that they'd like to see my entire platform first. Which I then realized my platform was rather limited to things I cared a lot about like education, and failed to include many larger things like foreign policy(even though I wouldn't be involved in it) and, you guessed it, global warming. So, for the most part, my policies revolve around solutions to problems, so naturally, I want this position to be no different. However, I also don't want to lie in my position so I want to get this position peer-r…

Sorry if this has been covered before - do these reporters think the public are THAT stupid that they can totally U-Turn on their opinion of a political stance or opinion based upon whether the idea was put forward by a Republican or a Democrat? Obama: "I'll talk to NK" / Fox: "Idiot! Traitor! Who does he think he is?!" Trump: "I'll talk to NK" / Fox "Revolutionary ideas from the pres' to bridge gaps with the enemy! - 3 cheers - Outstanding diplomatic work! - why has no other pres' suggested this?!" Surely the American people are not THAT stupid to be taken in by this nonsense? It is a little depressing.

What are your thoughts over this ping-pong of power to get around the two consecutive terms law between Medvedev and Putin? How democratic is that objectively speaking? And what are your thoughts over Putin's win here. (I'm surprised a thread about this has not yet been opened.)

Has anyone noticed that as soon as science encroaches on an area touched by politics it becomes nearly impossible to have a rational debate? Instead of parties united in a common search for truth and a quest to separate fact from falsehood there is, instead, a mad scramble to avoid answering questions, evade questions with distractions and diversions, deliberate pretence to misunderstand, misinterpret and misrepresent etc. Although it is a bit annoying I think it only reflects upon those who are obviously squirming and fools nobody. My solution is just to stick to cold calm logical progress and not to be too concerned about people trying to slow it down. A bit l…

The USA should be divided into two countries, Trump land and Hillary land. It is wasting time to argue. 1) In 2000, the GDP of America was 8 times bigger than China. Clinton let China to join WTO. Then China becomes the world factory. Now China has a bigger buying power than America. in 2016, the median household income in the US is lower than the year 2000. 2) Hillary Clinton said that, I'm Putting Bill Back In Charge of fixing economy If I'm Elected.

Unless I am misreading things it is still legal in the USA for a parent to consent to the marriage of a child to, er, anyone. This gets even more disgusting when the person is a child and has to marry her rapist. Read this:- https://edition.cnn.com/2018/01/29/health/ending-child-marriage-in-america/index.html HOW is this legal in a country that describes other countries that do this as 'shithole' countries? Surely when your president hears of this there will be an outrage and he will do something about it no? For the love of god!! I did not know whether to put this in Politics or Religion as it seems that this is more to do with the church shunning rape victim…

I was just wondering what you guys think about the duration of presidency or prime minister term. Is it adequate? Say, with 4-year term in US and many other countries, when a new leader comes to the office it takes time to get a grasp on things and form the government, say it takes 6 months. Then at 3-year mark the next presidency campaign kicks off and now they are distracted from actually trying to do their thing and instead have to appease the public, travel all around the country and defend themselves against the attack of political opponents (or go on attack of their own). That leaves something like 2.5 years out of 4 to actually try and govern the country and …
