This is what Trump has to say about Putin. They will be meeting in private soon with no note takers. They will give the secret handshake. Putin will say "Keep up the good work Donald!" And Trump will reply, "thanks for your help boss!" "Putin's fine. We are all fine (wise guys, good fellas)" We are all gangsters. We are all wealthy Oligarchs. That is gangster talk, short, concise, like a "wise guy". I was watching the first Godfather movie yesterday and was astonished by how much the speech pattern of Trump (Queen's Douchbag) resembles a Mafia Don. EFFECTIVE speech, communicates well mind you, use short words, short sentences, and active verbs, and th…

  3. https://www.npr.org/2016/12/17/505965420/study-communities-most-affected-by-opioid-epidemic-also-voted-for-trump It seems clear that folks hurting financially have been turning to opioid use, and were desperate enough to idolize someone wealthy who promised to fix it. We all know how difficult it is to talk to someone rationally who came to a conclusion emotionally, and these folks have to be absolutely wrung out by a system that leeches from them far more than it helps. How did this get to be a case of the pain of poverty and opioid addiction versus the ruthlessness of extreme wealth and money addiction? How frustrating is it that they support him so ferv…

The primary sticking point for Congress passing a budget is securing an agreement for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Through DACA 800,000 people have been living in the U.S. with work permit working and going to school since 2012. To be eligible for DACA one had to have lived in the U.S. continuously since 2007 , arrived in the U.S. younger than 16yrs of age, have no criminal record, and were enrolled in or graduated from High school here in the United States. Requests to be protected by DACA had to be made through Immigration services. The President and majority of Republicans want DACA ended, all 800,000 deported, and money to start building a physic…

It was found that Einstein's diaries contained detailed observations about different ethnic groups. http://www.foxnews.com/science/2018/06/13/einsteins-diaries-contain-shocking-details-his-racism.html https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-44472277 However some are labeling him a racist for his writings. We always seem to hear about people being labeled a racist, even when there are no bad intentions involved. This case is unique since it involves a famous scientist who was applying his observational skills in a way that would make him look like a racist. Is this something that should be called racist? Or is it justified anyways?

I love reading the Politics sections and as a non-american It's very informative on the mentality, views and opinions of people from US. With all this aside I can't help but notice that I have not seen a single comment about Trump doing something right. It seems that absolutely all his actions are criticised and I raised this point before but to me it seems some of the criticism is ad hominem. So I would like to hear from some of the more experienced member from this section like Ten oz, iNow, MigL etc about some good policies, decisions, actions that the current POTUS has made. (I do not have any political inclination and they would be far from republican …

  8. https://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/06/05/heather-nauert-state-department-d-day-us-germany-relationship-sot.cnn This woman - one of Trump's aides, quotes the D-Day landings as an event that cements the close relationship between Germany and the USA. What? Is it just me or is this total delusion... the BEST example she could think of (after having days to prepare her speech and do research) for USA / Germany relations in the past 100 years is to put forward D-Day? Don't get me wrong - the USA coming into to the war at the end of it to help finish it off was probably very much appreciated (if a few years late) - but to quote it as an example of…

So Rosanne Barr displays to the world that she doesn't just play 'white trash' on TV; she IS white trash. And she gets herself and a lot of others , on the unemployment line. Whether you think that's fair to the rest of the cast or others who worked on the show, is irrelevant, as the network has the right to protect its 'image'. Now Samantha Bee calls Ivanka Trump a "c**t' on national TV and no action is taken by the network. Is this the double standard Republicans are always complaining about ? Are TV networks trying to project an Anti-Trump image, so this is OK ? Is this a non-issue ( because it agrees with your sensibilities ) ? Or is hateful speech…

Kids are taught the math skills to balance a checkbook, but have never been taught to actually balance their checkbooks. Schools don't teach the best ways to find an apartment, or write an ad for a roommate, or even how to look for a better job while doing their best and maintaining a good relationship at your current job. Why isn't more curriculum aimed at practical applications? Do lobbyists for religious and financial entities play a role because it best suits their interests? *Edited and added to a Phi for All post from another thread to use as the OP.

So, the US is unilaterally pulling out of the Iran deal that was designed to keep Iran from developing nuclear capabilities. As it stands, pretty much all the other signees (UK, Germany. France, China, Russia) are committed to continue. Although Iran has signaled that it would adhere to the terms, there are worries that the deal may be undercut. If the deal is falling apart, there is no reason for Iran to adhere to nuclear restrictions. Also, so far the US has not indicated what they want to see in its place, nor what the actual consequences are going to be, once they are out. Theoretically, the US may sanction companies from other countries if they continue dealings…

We had a very disturbing incident in Toronto, Canada, this past Monday. A man rented a cargo van, and on a beautiful spring day, drove it onto the sidewalk, and ran down multiple people on a busy street. He managed to kill 10 ( 8 women and 2 men ) and injured another 14. It was not called a terror attack because there was no political motivation, although it generated the same results. As more information came out during the week, we learned that this man belonged to a group who call themselves Incels ( for INvoluntary CELibate ). They have their own internet forums/chat rooms and call regular people ( who can form/have relationships 'Chads' and 'Stacys'.…

I found out in Canada that people can be transgender age. Do any Canadians feel like explaining how that works? Like, I'm 15. If I wanted to be 21 and go get drunk, is there paperwork I have to sign or can I just do it? Can I go back to 15 when I'm done? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjC3zBKgL3M I mean this guy was 52. She became 8 years old. Then she decided to become 6 years old. Also, what about other legal opportunities? Does she have to go back to kindergarten? What if she changes her mind in between? Is it discrimination to deny her from going to kindergarten if she wants to? Also, the 6-year-old girl…

My main idea, i.e., my topic is that the Tibet-China Conflict is kinda related to education inequity in this two countries, not only between both countries, also within them. I am planning to do a poster, but I don't know what to put on it yet. Based on my topic what would you recommend me to put in my poster. Thanks in advance.

In the past year we have seen the Acting Attorney General Sally Yates fired and the Director of the FBI fired. Trump openly attacked the current Attorney General Jeff Session and the DOJ on twitter and in interviews for not investigating his political rivals until they relented and launched new probes into Hillary Clinton. Now the Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe ,whom's wife Trump has attacked on social media, has resigned. Meanwhile the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release a classified memo Republicans believe show corruption within the FBI. Comey has already testified under oath that Trump had told him he expect loyalty. Trump has ope…

Bush, and Bill Clinton are all listed as 6'2 - Obama is listed as 6'1 I understand that this is stupid and conspiratorial - to claim the Trump and his doctor are lying about Trump's height . I also understand that the above photos are not empirical proof of anything as camera angle, shoes, posture, and etc all impact how tall someone looks. That said I am troubled by the idea that a military doctor would bold face lie to the public. It troubles me that I can't trust anything that comes from my govt. Even something silly as Tr…

  18. It looks like Trump is flipping out over his lawyer getting raided by the FBI. Michael Cohen kept recordings of conversations!!! Then on top of that parts of Comey's new book are released. He compares Trump to a Mafia "Don" and his team as gangsters adhering to a family code of silence and spin. So here is Trump's latest Tweet on 4-13-18: James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH. He is a weak and..... ....untruthful slime ball who was, as…

  19. Hey, guys! I happen to live in Croatia. I know that the American conservatives claim that it's justified for the US to be involved in a war because it brings people freedom and capitalism. So, I have a serious question about it. How do the American conservatives respond to the notion that the America's involvement in the Yugoslav Wars (the bombings of Belgrade) is responsible for the recent rise of socialism (as an opposition to the "capitalism") in Croatia? To me, that notion appears quite plausible. Not everyone knows this, but more people were killed in the bombings of Belgrade than in of Vukovar. And the war was, by the time of the bombings of Belgrade, …

  20. Venezuela, whose economy is in shambles, is often quoted as an example of a socialist economy and of the unworkability of socialism, however, from what I understand, the country DOES allow private enterprise, it's just that the state controls the commanding heights of the economy, the utilities and the big oil reserves. However, from what I understand, the same is true in Norway, which I think is doing quite well. On the other hand the Index of Economic Freedom has Norway as the 23rd freest economy, while Venezuela is beating out only North Korea. So what's the difference between these two? PS Here's an article on the Norwegian economy if anyone's…
