Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  1. Title says it. Let's keep things sweet and brief enough unless you really think someone (me?) needs to get more learnt verbosely. Suffice to say in a word. New model to achieve some specific use/goals. Former form and some modifications at some level.

  3. What if the expansion of the universe. The coordinates. Is really based on the universal genetic code. Everything that is alive has something in common. What if the universe is living too. But anyways. The biggest question in the world is...what houses the universe. Its the only thing I want to know.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenz's_law Lenz's law, named after the physicist Emil Lenz (pronounced /ˈlɛnts/) who formulated it in 1834,[1] states that the direction of the electric current which is induced in a conductor by a changing magnetic field is such that the magnetic field created by the induced current opposes the initial changing magnetic field. electric have 2 points is negative(-) and positive(+), which is resisting each other balancely, but we want to reap energy from an anti-energy field: 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 4/2 = 2, 1/2 x 2 = 1, 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 = 16/4 = 4, ok, also…

Hello, Here is the equation of an anharmonic oscillator; For example, a mass m fixed to a special spring is considered here: $$m \frac{d^2 x}{dt^2}- K x+AKx^3=0$$ I want to modify this equation to insert 50 cycles of the round trip of the mass in one second. How to write this sequel? (I do not know where and what value to modify) Thank you

  6. If this is true, that's such a gigantic news!!! Absolutely staggering!!! Unreal! https://phys.org/news/2020-09-quantum-entanglement-distant-large.html Scientists were able to link 2 disparate quantum objects together in quantum entanglement. They say it is simple as taking information from one object and applying knowledge to other. It could be used to get rid of zero point fluctuations on mirrors in (LIGO), to get rid of a noise. They say this could erase uncertainty. By allowing them to create a sensor, which would allow measure both momentum and position of a quantum particle!!! Which was impossible until now! I can't even wrap my head around it. This is s…

  7. Perhaps the most important scientific debate is the one over whether or not we are alone in the universe. The possibility of alien life has been argued about for hundreds of years because of its significance in our place in the universe as a species. Unfortunately, there is virtually no way of determining the answer to this question without going out and searching every corner of the universe for aliens. In this paper, a model of the big bang is built which is incompatible with alien life and is, therefore, either valuable for offering an answer to whether sentient aliens exist, or valuable for being falsifiable in the case that sentient alien life is discovered. …

Hi everybody! First of all I have to make clear that I am not a physicist, however as many other science fiction enthusiasts, I have an interest in alternative propulsion methods (reactionless drive etc). My theory is published in a non-arxiv.org repository and essentially explores the feasibility of constructing a reactionless drive (an initial mechanical prototype). As we know Newton's 3rd law forbids the construction of a device that may move by means of internal forces, something that all propellantless propulsion/reactionless drive theories tend to ignore. The conclusion of my research can be briefly stated as follow: A reactionless drive may become feasible if and…

  12. Hi, In this thread: https://www.scienceforums.net/topic/122453-an-attempt-to-approach-a-notion-of-solubility-in-cosmology-to-explain-the-cosmological-constant/, I proposed a mathematical solution to the cosmological constant problem. However, I have not found a physical explanation. Failing that, I found a generalization of this solution to the whole universe to validate a hypothesis that had been made in this solution In this it is, it seems to me, a confirmation (and perhaps help to understand the problem of the cosmological constant?). The energy density of the quantum vacuum in Planck units is: [math] A=m_pc^2/l_p^3=\hbar(l_p^{-2})^2.c[/math…

Hello Everyone, I am new and not used to how fast the internet is changing or even how to navigate it sometimes. I have a few hypothesis about planetary axial tilt and stellar movement that I would like feedback on....but... The problem is that the theory is so strange that I am getting no response other than hostility. I assume that it is my presentation. I have a video that is only 16 minutes but that has gotten no feedback at all so I was thinking I would just ask you guys to review the basic hypothesis. Is that what you do here? Let me know the best way to Present the idea. If you follow the unsolved mysteries in our universe like galaxy speed…

When you accelerate close to the speed of light you experience length contraction in which the distance to the end of the universe becomes shorter and therefore the universe is perceived to be smaller, but from another person's point of view that is standing still, the universe is of the original length. So how come each person perceives a different version of the universe based on the speed?

I just wondered about antigravity. What are the possible mechanisms? Are there functional small craft, for example, UAV's, that use these mechanisms to get off the ground at high speeds and are we confusing UAV's with UFO's? On doing a bit of reading, difficult for a non-physicist, I came across the following about the Biefield Brown effect: 'The effect relies on corona discharge, which allows air molecules to become ionised near sharp points and edges...Around this electrode, ionisation occurs, that is, electrons are stripped off the atoms in the surrounding medium, they are literally pulled right off by the electrode's charge. This leaves a cloud of positi…

  17. Renormalization problem for two-dimensional objects in string theory. Membranes are unstable at the quantum level. I propose to consider membranes as information structures, and not just the geometry of surfaces. It is based on information metric Fisher. Mathematical analysis based on the holographic principle allows one to determine the flow formula for a quantum membrane. This formula is similar to Gauss theorem for the flow of a gravitational field. This removes instability and allows membranes to be viewed as fundamental units of information. B.pdf

  18. Newton didn't set a limit to velocity, as you know. It was Einstein who claimed there is a limit to velocity, which is - the velocity of "light" in empty space. Einstein's claim doesn't seem to have been verified by any practical experiments. Such as firing a 10, 000 stage rocket into space, then seeing whether the final stage eventually goes faster than light. These experiments have not been attempted because the theory claims they can't work. Doesn't it remind you of similar claims made in the past, about the impossibility of heavier-than-air flying machines? Theory said they couldn't work. But they do.

Is anyone paying any attention to any of the hypothesis surrounding the Younger Dryas Impact? For a long time this subject was being used to explain everything from the fall of an ancient civilization to the JFK assassination, possibly the death of elvis as well. But lately some detailed explanations of many papers being used to explain things like the Carolina Bays and the scablands out west not to mention various flood myths and myths of earlier civilizations of humans here on earth which fell when the impact caused a scouring of coast lines all over the planet to raising sea levels as much as 400 feet. For awhile it was barely interesting but an actual scientis…

  20. Even without Relativity, you can work out the question only with the single axiom that SOL is finite. The axiom says that light takes some amount of time to travel. That means that any information that comes to you through the means of light comes from the past. It means that if you are observing a clock away from you, this clock is in the past. So if he knew that, Galileo Galilei, with some thoughts, could get to this: Say that you have 2 synchronized clocks on your desk. Say that you send one clock in a missile (together with a living duck) away from you. When this missile will be far away enough, the clock will look like beying delayed. Which means …

  21. We have constructed energy systems that consume and destroy from production to usage. EM currents are destroyers of biological life. They separate protons from matter within the field. This creates cancers and genetic defects in living things. They demagnetizes neural centers causing Alzheimer’s, dementia, malformed cell generation..... everything bad really. the polar opposite system is that which is derived from ferromagnetic driven electrical systems who’s energy can be explained by the bonding of hydrogen to ion. Scientist in this field of study haven’t quite decided on a name for this process, at least not in a uniform term. I’ll throw a term out there for it that…

  22. It is well known that most women prefer men that prominently express masculine secondary sex characteristics, and it is also patently true that men are a class of humans who do not bear children. Therefore if women's sexual preferences are a reflection of which traits are optimal in men we must assume they are also a reflection of which traits are optimal in a class of humans who do not bear children. Therefore if feminists believe that feminine traits are not suboptimal for tasks not related to bearing children then they should prefer feminine men, but women generally do not. How can feminists reconcile the incongruity between women's sexual preferences and their positio…

  23. Imagine a stone age level of human development. Assume that there were two genotypes of male: Men of genotype A whom are more feminine - They tend to focus on clerical tasks and avoid risk - They have low mortality rates Men of genotype B whom are more masculine - They tend to focus on tasks requiring strength, aggression, and risk taking - They have high mortality rates Note that the prevalence of a genotype in a population can only increase if its reproductive rate exceeds its mortality rate. Therefore if the prevalence of genotype B is to increase in the population then men of genotype B must have higher reproductive success than men of genotyp…

Alright, first thing I'm going to say is that I got this from a book. The book is called Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code. By Eoin Colfer I thought I should get that out of the way before someone says I got this from a book and it goes off topic. Now, inside the book a kid creates a code based off of no language. In other words, a completely new language that no one could decipher without a key of some kind. My question is if this code is entirely possible or if it's impossible to create. As far as I know if someone tried to make one their subconscious might make it too alike to a certain language, but that's just a guess. This is all speculation, and I'm just wondering i…

  25. Many human secondary sex characteristics are seemingly clear and obvious in their benefits to the organism, e.g. greater body size in males would give an advantage in intra-male competition and the performance of physical labor, the major downside being greater caloric expenditure. However humans have many secondary sex characteristics that don't seem to increase the organism's chances of survival. I'll briefly list these "unnecessary" secondary sex characteristics that I've thought of, and hypothesize how those traits became prevalent in humans. Neoteny in females: Men probably over-selected for neoteny since youth was associated with fertility. What is curious is t…
