Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  1. Hello I’m sorry. I can’t English well. My native language is not English. Important Report on the Dark Energy and Gravitational Potential Energy [Abstract] Gravity is the force conquering the structure of the universe. By recognizing the components of the universe, we are estimating the quantity of components composing the universe through size of gravity and gravitational potential energy (GPE). In this paper, it is being shown that the universe can be created and expanded through pair creation of positive energy (mass) and negative energy (mass) from zero energy condition. Also, GPE is composed by 3 units of [math]U_{++}[/math], [math]U_{-…

  2. I know I can't describe this mathematically but I'll try to do it with mere words. Black holes have or do in some theories a singularity at the center, I have given this some thought and what if this singularity is connected with the singularity of the beginning of the universe and all matter that falls into a black hole is shuffled back to the big bang as it happened. So the universe is indeed a steady state as matter is drawn into a black hole it is immediately shuffled back to the instant of the big bang. This would make black holes recyclers of the universe. The reason I thought of this is due to time having no meaning (so I've read) beyond the event horizon and…

Hi, I'm new here but I wanted to show you people how the true nature of the universe is actually a tiny, inverted one. Cyrus Teed's foundational premise that the Earth's surface is concave and all the planets, sun, moon and stars are actually very small in relation to it and fit inside a hollow, inverted Earth has never been debunked. In addition to his theory I want to point out the optical illusory effects of the glass ceiling about 70 miles high that plays tricks on the eye and causes one to perceive the sun and moon as spherical but are actually not. Her are some videos from m y webpage I made concerning the subject at hand. Here's my webpage that consol…

At the end of October 2011, I had a very vivid dream. I was driving along a motorway in my car when, all of a sudden, there was thick black smoke all across the motorway. I had to make a quick decision what to do and I decided to speed up to get clear of the smoke. I could not see anything at all in front of me. Suddenly, I saw a car in front of me and I could not stop in time. As the collision occurred I woke up. About a week and a half later this happened: M5 Motorway Crash Which field of science could answer the reasons behind this occurence? Is it simple coincidence? Because if it is, then my wife and one of my children dreamed about the death of m…

There was an article on the internet that indicated that science was get close to reversing and stopping the aging process. We could possibly live to be a 1000 years old. While this idea might be intriguing to envision living that long of a lifetime, I would imagine that it would produce many undesirable consequences in our society. First this probably would only be available to the very rich and powerful government individuals while the masses would never get the opportunity to live that long. It would turn our society in the worst possible corruption scenario never before seen in our species. Mass execution of the population would occur leaving only a large en…

So the main gripe with the big bang theory is how did something come out of nothing? Im gonna try and explain it in easy terms. Obviously this is a theory but see what you think and please try and debunk this theory somehow. Firstly imagine nothing. Infinite nothingness, pretty easy to comprehend right? Now take infinite energy and put that energy into the nothingness. You might think its not possible but it definitely is and ill explain how. Imagine something small, and now imagine something smaller. If you keep going there will be nothing relative to whatevers watching. Now imagine blowing up a balloon, thats gonna pop if theres to much pressure inside, thats pr…

Greetings folks, this is an opportunity for you to include your observations, and possible outcomes for the near future. Predictions should follow the geologic, and climate change effects. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, whatever. If you predict an earth quake include the magnitude it should be at least a 6.0 or better. Location will be difficult to predict. If you predict a volcanic eruption, give the name of the volcano. this is not easy to do, you may say a major eruption will occur, and give a date or estimate. Serious predictions is best, not Michel Jackson ghost will come back and haunt the globe theater, Pull a rabbit out of your hat for science. …

  10. 'Dark Matter' & 'Dark Energy' are real, and entirely normal [DRAFT] 'Dark Matter' (DM) & 'Dark Energy' (DE) are known to have different properties, i.e. "behave differently". DM is spatially associated with stars in galaxies, which stars "trace" the presence of DM; and, DM possesses properties similar to stars, i.e. slow-moving, massive, gravitating point-particles. Prima facie, DM is dim stars, e.g. brown dwarves; and, dim stellar remnants, e.g. white dwarves, neutron stars, black holes. By contrast, DE is a uniformly distributed, diffuse, matter-and-energy density, logically linked to the vast inter-galactic 'Voids', which encompass most (~3/4ths) of the …

Just to reiterate - this is pure speculation. Pi has always annoyed me, 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510 is not sensible to my mind. Surely Pi should be 3? A nice rational number. Which made me wonder, with the expansion of the universe essentially stretching the fabric of space/time, could Pi be moving? What I maen is: in the early universe could Pi have been closer to my ideal 3? Any comments welcome as always...

Okay, so this is just a theory, very rough and doesn't have much evidence to back it up due to very limited resources. Now this is based on the ability to go back in time. So if you were to go back in time (unplanned), then would you be able to get out of a constant time loop, where you are traveling along from A to B. So say you are going through normal time and then something happened to divert you away from the normal flow from A to B which ended up with you going back in time. After that would you be able to change the past by going A to B by jumping over the event that caused you to go back in time and carry on to B or would it just not be possible as you are …

Is this time??? Past (low entropy) -----X (the present)------ All possible futures (high entropy) Where time is a wave and the present (point of observation) is where the wave (superposition of all possible futures) collapses. So in effect the universe is created NOW and flows into the past because the future only exists as a superposition (observing it in the present causes it to collapse into a single state) the present is a static point which time flows through pouring into the past. Also, when observing any superposition, you are effectively looking into the future (all possible future…

By a process of elimination, the premise can be established or negated. Re. Evoution. This does not work if this is an on-going process. Namely, an on-going process is not effected by time, which says we must see evolution occuring at all times. If one species changes to another, then we must be able to witness this every second - a billion years ago, and a billion years plus one second, and now. Of note, ToE depends on time as its proof. Secondly, evolution does not work without the 'seed' factor; namely an output of essence from the host parents, which acts as a chip with a directive program [dna; genes]. This was correctly given in Genesis, from w…

No sir - it does not. Same spot has no real meaning, other than whatever some agenda based sci-fi artists wants to make of it. The said imprint can be commonplace to all life yet not align with your conclusion; the commonality can be imited to life per se. Call me when you show why no half way chimp-human living transits appear; why did the on-going process cease. There was yet no centre; yet no point. It is scientifically impossible for the universe to be initiated with one singular entity! Every stated discovery made by ToE advocates, including alledged fossil findings, have been proven wrong, false and corrupt.

Years ago, I had an idea for a "genetic" germ, an organism that has some of the characteristics of a virus, but still constitutes a bacteria. Sort of a combination of the two. I used this germ as a means to explain how a species of trees on their own hypothetical planet could synthesize consciousness; that is to say, sentient plants. The germs are hyperactive. They are constantly tampering with and re-coding segments of DNA within certain cells of the tree, so that information can be stored via the relative coding of groups of large organizations of cells as a whole. In short, the germ and the plant cells simulate an electrical-impulsive brain system, in a micros…

Hello there, I was thinking yesterday about earth, space, and general relativity. A particular idea popped into my head, but I could find no existing literature about it; whilst that probably indicates how stupid it is, it's also a little frustrating to not have a go-to debunking (as is usually the case for such flights of fancy!). I figured I would post it here for those cleverer than I to say "well, I think you should stop thinking that right now". The presence of matter results in gravity via the warping of spacetime. As such, orbiting bodies, travelling in a straight line through curved space, are taken in a path around their 'host' - a path which our geometry…

I know turning mass into energy happens in nuclear reaction process (Combining anti-matter with the same amount of matter) but what happens if a creature turned into energy, will it servive as energy(become a new life-form)? Any help is appreciated. (Leave religion out of debate). Thanks.

It is my perception that: a body of relativity's density, or time dialation strength can be measured by it's light particle/wave ratio. in other words: we can see a star that exists outside of our galaxie, and we know that star light bends around galxies like ours, therefore a "membrane" of light must exist extending from one side of the galaxie to the other, and that this desity of light is different than the light membrane sphere outside of, and flowing around, our galaxie. We percieve strings, or rays of light that are directly inline with our eyes and telescopes. and when we look at these light rays up close we see the particles that make up the membranes.

Their seems to be a misconception held by many members of this forum that cosmic motion is not controlled by any sort of cosmic physics or order within the cosmic universe. This cosmic motion is generally denied as having any merit or purpose. Statements have been made by some members that there is no reason for the pattern of motion by matter referred to as mass bodies made up of atoms. Clearly simple observation confirms this to be basically untrue, such that clearly there is a functional order occurring within astronomical physics. Planet orbital paths and galactic motions are generally in the same physical direction thus displaying a strong sense of order occurri…

I believe the universe fundamentaly is made of 2 things (for want of a better word) ENERGY and SPACETIME. I think the start of our universe was a black hole (being made of spacetime) that, having reached a crittical mass, would reach planks max temperature at the core thus melting spacetime creating an event that creates our universe. In this event energy condenses spacetime into matter (imagine your fist is energy and rubber foam is spacetime, the fist grabs the foam thus creating a dimple in spacetime E=MC2) my Question, please tell me why this statement is wrong

If I have bricks that are black on 1 end and white on the other end, black on top and white on bottom, black on 1 face and white on other face.I can build 2 walls that are 2 layers thick,1 wall with all the black faces showing outward, and 1 wall with all the white faces showing outward. The black wall (I call a wall) the white wall (I call an anti-wall).The 2 walls are made of interchangeable parts. If a photon with enough energy can produce an electron/positron pair, can I say that a photon is an interchangeable part(that it is both a photon and anti-photon at the same time ?)

Time is what a clock measure. Distance is what a ruler measure. Then a question arises: is it possible to measure time with a ruler? For example, following Galileo's experiment: putting a ruler inclined and making a small sphere rolling upon it. When the sphere passes by over a line of the ruler, one unit of time has passed. Of course the problem arises that if my lines on the ruler are equidistant, I will measure time as accelerating. But although unconventional, that would be a way to measure time with a ruler. Isn't it?
