Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

This question is geared for those knowledgeable in esoteric astronomy..and or celestial mechanics. I have been experimenting with a function the predicts feature years in relation to earth and other celestial bodies in this case the planet Uranus and its precession cycles of seasons just like on earth. What it predicts is the Solstice Periods from earth in relation to other celestial body's relative movements in outer space. Yes I know, it uses pure numbers in space as dimensional analysis. I am wondering if anyone here has heard anything of signification to the earth year of 2018.. I have read some articles about metaphorical beliefs but would really like to …

Resistance ma be the key. You always run into the problem of resistance. Providing enough energy to power the energy machine from the energy machine. Just in speculation, would it be correct to assume that if you could harness the energy from resistance of a force to get your power, it could be perpetual? I heard somebody use the force of gravity as an example once. Not to say that gravity would be the force. Just speculating that if we could contain the resistance of a force, since resistance is constant, it perpetual. Let me know how wrong I am.

Matter-electro-magnetic-gravitational-light force = 1 thing the general 3 dimensional direction of buddy. But the thing is, buddy travels everywhere in the universe once per moment. So his spin is influenced most heavily by other buddies who are doing a 3d spin moderately similar to him. If he's spinning perty slow, he becomes matter and his influence is stronger on people closer by (gravity). If he get's spinning up a little too fast, he becomes a wave! It can be light, electric, magnetic, or even fusion! Anyways, now buddy is flying around again, when what do we see? A star, he attracts us for awhile, then we get going so fast, and we get so close, that our forces …

Tides majestic, and endlessly changing the earth, truly the evidence of eternal glory and hope for this great place we call home. I however am having great trouble finding the results of the research, Is it so, that when the tide recedes in the North it comes back in the south hemisphere? or Does, the tide come back in the Eastern coasts while receding in the western ones? (North and South vs. East and West) Thank you for your assistance and efforts, or even consideration to this mystical yet oh so discernible question. I truly believe this should be taught in school, 6th grade. With the Tides under consideration: It is largely excepted that…

The Higgs Particle One of the first things I thought when I heard of the Higgs particle was; why call it the God particle? With out actually looking for the answer there it was in a Wiki article. Being somewhat religious the name God particle tended to tweak my sensibilities. Upon finding out that the name came from the censorship of a very much somewhat irreverent term from an article, about the particle, well lets just say that my sensibilities’ also have a humorous side. Still, I prefer the name Higgs particle. I spend most of my time doing things I would prefer not to have to do. I would prefer to spend most of my time thinking about things that interest me, but peo…

I am new to the forum and haven't quite mastered the fine points. I hope you will bare with me. I have been working on this theory all my life and feel that it is finally ready for prime time. Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.... http://www.youtube.c...my?feature=mhee knowerastronomy

Could it not be possible that the illusion of cosmic acceleration is caused by the lensing effects of an overwhelming gravitational pressure, permeating space and related to the CMBR? The answer, if you didn't already guess is "yes". I've assembled a work outlining the theory, providing some thought experiments as well as observational evidence (solution to existing scientific anomalies) and mathematics in support of this concept at http://lcgp.wordpress.com/ This is a work in progress. Comments would be most appreciated. READ IT FIRST THOUGH!!! “If one part in one million, million, million, were off during the inflationary period of the universe,…

It begins with the imparticle. The imparticle is invisible, having no distinct qualities, having no energy or value. Since we can't identify an imparticle, we have to imagine one. Together with an infinite number of imparticles, it constructs the world. Imparticles have no inherent qualities and can never be scrutinized or quantified in themselves. Since an imparticle has no value or distinct qualities, it is actually equal to every imparticle, an infinite amount, and it cannot be said to be distinct from any one of them. They are altogether interchangeable. Because imparticles have no distinction, they are forced to bond together, and because they have no v…

Earlier this morning I went on google looking for information concerning black holes, especially the one rotating, or resting at the center of our galaxy. I'm following the program just fine until I read that black holes are the work of insurmountable gravitational forces. I look up "insurmountable". Ok, got it! Then I recall reading that gravity is the weakest of the four forces. Now, I have to start all over?

While reading about theoretical particle physics (a few of these theories are currently under experimentation at the LHC), I came up with a possible explanation for the origin of the Big Bang (and a few other open questions as well). It's probably bogus—after all, I have precisely 0 post-highschool science credentials. Here's a synopsis of my line of thinking. · Cause and effect, as we typically think of them, aren't the original catalysts of the Big Bang because the Big Bang (effect) itself required a cause. This cause in turn implies a preceding effect that also required a cause. So, thinking of the Big Bang as the initial cause of the universe is a…

How does the theory of time not being linear exist? We can only experience time in one direction. which would mean time is linear, because we cannot go back in time (yet) any help on this question would be much appreciated as it is something that i have wondered for quite some time and have never really found a good place to ask it. Sorry if this question has already been asked feel free to delete it or whatever the common procedure is here.

Can we compare notes???? Can anyone send me 2 numbers of something you "know"? these can be anything in relation to time, gravity, even Lorentz transformations etc. I only need the numbers, not the explanation nor the technicals of what these numbers are and what they pertain too, for now at-least. This for examples can be the dirivitive of "anything" in science but would prefer this to be close to something dealing with c and or gravity. What I do is calculate past, present and future and return a sum in relation to precession. What I would like to see are "relative movements" in phases or precession, and "attempt only" to see if my function works with yo…

The four dimensional universe. Infinite fields require infinite expansion. Infintie expansion requires relative four dimensional space. Realities are seperated by acclerations in space time in this manner, the way I'm seeing today. LoL. Let's imagine an abstract four dimensional space for a moment, we see intersecting rays of an x,y, and z axis. We'll set the intersection to zero and start zooming in closer and closer and closer until we get so close that we see the lines don't really touch all the time and that this point is actually vibrating. In some perspective we see more of a sphere of the probability of zero. Within this spere of probability there is length …

This isn't so much speculation, I don't believe, as I know it to be fact. However, I am also aware that this is generally accepted as impossible. My aunt works at a hospital and when brought into discussion, was told that it was impossible; my College Bio teacher told me the same thing when I asked her about it. My grandmother's blood type was AB; she'd undergone numerous cancer treatments and had been in the hospital often enough that I think we'd know her blood type pretty well. All five of her children (three males, two of whom are twins, and two girls, if it matters), however, have O blood type. I can't necessarily vouch for four of them, but I know my mother most…

Hi, I've created a set of models that illustrate physics concepts such as spin, relativistic fields, dimensionless constants, quark models, and many others. Its a system for visualizing the standard model. I was hoping for some feedback. I would post them here, however there are so many images, i don't think it would work. Check it out. Thanks a lot.

E= m•lightsecond²/time It's the same formula. But we separate speed of light into time and distance. Since both things can pretty much be warped. PERSON A is moving away from PERSON B at 13,000 m/s I'm person B, a lightsecond for person A in his direction is 299,805,458m, in the opposite direction it's 299,779,458m. This proposal postulates that time is actually constant but perspectives can be bent based on energy difference. It's a minor change, but it solves a lot, I think... Am I allowed to do this?

Alright, so I got the same beef with Einstein as Tesla did. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think relativity should be thrown out the window, it's great theory from a relativistic viewpoint. But I think once we begin to consider deep space travel, with near zero relativistic drag, I don't see why it can't be realized relative to Earth. Kind of like warp speed (PS That's a graph from a test where light goes faster than light). I believe the Pioneer Anomaly is better explained by breaking conservatively accepted science, and allowing the speed of light to be a variable! Similar to how you can solve E=mc² to be "c = sqrt( E / m )" when in deep space, where we are void of…

The above question has probably been hashed over many times here on the forum, I just wasn't lucky enough to be part of the hashing. But when a well known physicist or (scientist) says, Quote: our universe will simply slow down, freeze over and quit running or disburse into nothing, I wonder where he gets his information? It makes me kind of nervous. Why not, like the seasons, or water, coal and gas, as well as many other natural phenomena, can't our universe be: "CYCLIC"? What if dark matter, dark energy and some of the other dark sided questions we can't answer, are a part of this revolving door? Me not knowing, I am merly asking questions?

Hello all, I have 'exotic" stuff for evaluation. what is Your opinion about this theory of "dualistic biology" involving the "mirror matter"? Let's leave aside homeopaty stuff here, what is your opinion of biological organizm creating copies of itself into the "mirror matter"? These ideas are described here: http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ Especially interesting is : http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED02.htm and http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED04.htm Is it mere speculation/pseudoscience or something worthwhile,to your opinion? Thanks everybody

Hi all, Just an idea... Thinking about gravity not as a force but as an effect of motion. Here's my tentative veiw: Objects take up the space in which they exist, what if they also "remove" that space? The effect we see as gravity is actually the space around the object pouring into the vacuum created by the object removing/displacing the space (matter destroys space) Of course, space is expanding so the anihilated space is not missed

Space is now expanding at and accelerating rate (cf dark energy) If we extrapolate backwards, we could conclude there was a big bang. If we observe, we can only see signs of inflation from just after this moment (cf Inflation theory, CMBR.) Therefore we cannot say for certain there was a big bang. So it's equally possible that the universe's default state is inflation. Matter and energy are fueled/produced by the expansion of space: Space produces virtual particles (VP) (cf uncertainty principle) As the volume of space increases the probability that more VP's will be produced increases. When space is in its default state of inflation every frame of re…

As quantum physics speculation about illusion of matter, I come with some thinking of,matter is illusion created by event(time) by the energy vibration (I am not scientist only curious person, pls pardon any miss conception). So if any one could travel or aware of faster than light(time) so the one will out of the event it self, and there will be no matter, time and space. You will not in the event(time). So you cannot go back or forward in that event(time). because your wil be absolute without time just energy.and you will not feeling being exist. Time is an illusion of different absolute condition being compare each other. I realize that this is very2 …
