Hi. Evaluating to use ClamAV from a CD if possible, without installing. Is such thing possible ? How to download-burn a CD and use it perhaps once a month in my Ubuntu Linux machine. It may not make much sense; but that's always me. Found not much in the user manual for Clamav.

Dear all I'm getting ready for the computer architecture exam, and I need your help with one exercise. A simple microprocessor with a 16-bit data bus and a 24-bit address bus supports virtual addressing. 64 pieces of 16 bit register DPPi=0...63 are used. However, only 14 lower bits are available. The length of the virtual address is 16 bits. The 6 upper bits indicate one of the 64 registers. Physical memory is obtained by unifying the 14-bit page address and 10 offset bits. Questions What is the amount of memory in kilobytes of each segment? My Proposed Answer 2^14 * 16bit=256kb What is the maximum number of segments in physical memory? My Pr…

Hello team, You guys helped me out lots before with share point stuff so I will have one last question. I have my share point site open on my monitor which is connected to my laptop. When I move my page to the monitor, the zoom goes to 150% and it's zoomed in. (image is not displaying as it should. When I move it back to my monitor it goes to 62%(not even the original 100%). I tried with the code below but it did not solve the issue. I am sure that my SharePoint site is at fault as I tried with other SharePoint sites (not made by me) in the same conditions and they would resize the text/image to perfectly fit the screen. Please let me know if you …

Just bought a new router, and learned how to boost the WiFi signal. Thought I'd share it. Indoor WiFi uses a weak radio signal (I knew that), so to get the best usage, you need to know where to put the router, and how to adjust your antenna(s). The antenna(s) broadcast in the opposite angle of themselves. If they point upwards (vertical), they transmit horizontal. Like this: So to cover the most of your house, you'll need two antennas forming an "L" shape, like this: The best place to put the router is in the middle of the house, elevated with air around it - never hidden away, and preferably not close to any electric devises, like a monitor/…

I have created a complex program(i can share if anyone wants for reference), which simply takes input and gives output in the console. The start of the program is:- a = int(input("Range - ")) .......(The whole program is long..so not putting it here for now)..... And i want to create an application using 'tkinter'..with an entry widget as the input (which is stored in variable 'a', after clicking a button). My program doesn't have any functions and I would like to just use that value of a which I get as input to be used as it is used in my actual program. . In short after i get input, my program should carry out the operations and then output the a…

On a 23" monitor, about 3 years old, some weird lines started to show up recently. On the left and rifght side. From light grey to dark grey, thinner or thicker. Lately there have been some short power cuts and vry strong fluctuations, and i didn't connect it to the ups. Only the comp is linked to the ups. Anyone knows why these lines show up? It's a Philips, good quality, it's unexpected to have something like this after 3 years. Could it be the power or something else? Thanks

  12. Hi, I wonder what "universal bandwidth compression" compresses. How and what type of data can it compress?: "Devices require less frequent charging thanks to a low-power Cortex A53 processor and efficiency-boosting features like universal bandwidth compression.".

Hello all. Can anyone with a HP2510 series printer clarify this not found on its manual ? Which of the two ink level indicators on the LCD correspond to the black cartridge ? How to print test page and align ? I run Linux and there is no provisions to select such from its driver at the computer. Is it always supposed to print a test page and alignment when plugged to power outlet, or only when it wants, or only after replacing ink ?

I have gained an old Acer travelmate laptop that has some useful stuff on it. But I think the previous owner may have used it with a plug in keyboard. The problem is that most of the keys present the correct letters when pressed but some are off the wall. For instance the 'o' appears as a 6. The microsoft onscreen keyboard works just fine, but is cumbersome. Device manager (windows XP) reports that there is a standard 101/102 keyboard that is 'working fine' No other keyboard is shown. I uninstalled it and let it find and reinstall the keyboard, but the problem remains. Any suggestions welcome.

I am having a problem with ransomware, it doesn't lock up my computer every time I log in, in fact it only affects my wife when she logs in and only every few day. I have to go task manager and stop the computer but it goes away for a while before coming back. I have the web address of the ransomware. So far McAfee has been unable to find it or malwarebytes or spy bot search and destroy. Any chance you guys can help?

  18. Hi guys, I have come across a problem on a sample exam paper and I don't understand how to draw the timing diagram. I know how to draw timing diagrams but not ones with data as shown here and with two lines criss-crossing at many locations as shown in the picture. I don't understand how that is 'translated' through the clock signal. Any help is appreciated
