Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

I believe elements have not always had the same electron sequences, Has i have tried to show here: http://alphaomegadotme.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/grouped-elements-old-quarkstargalaxyuniv.xls , fig 1/2 are what i believe they where at one time, In fig 3, Shows what they are now believed to be, the difference between past/present electron seq is shown in purple, At this present time Sulphur has an electron sequence of 2 8 6, But i was wondering what effect would occur to sulphur if the electron seq jumped to 2 9 5? Also aluminium 2, 8, 3 to 2, 9, 2?

  5. A continual observation of the world at large , shows most things being a fairly equal spread of having a solid ridged , predictable element , as well as having a vague, flexible , unpredictable content. Are we limiting our understanding of the Universe by always expecting and testing for ridged , predictable , content , before taking a scientific subject area as a serious contender , as a model for reality ? 6. Let’s think about a logical example: When somebody ask you how many people (whom you know) love you, you will easily be confused. But if you were asked how many of them you love, it will be much easier for you to answer. This example implies a physical aspect: we can not count how many objects in the universe which exert the gravitational force on the earth but we can aggregate all the gravitational forces which the earth exerts on every object in the universe. Why's that. That’s because the earth is unique. It is like you are unique. Only you can feel your love with some people meanwhile you hardly can know how many of your friends really love you. This is also tru…

  7. On the Origin of Relativity Sam Azar Abstract: In the search to explain Coulomb's law, the electric permitivity eo, and the magnetic permeability uo, the structure of the universe from the cosmos to the atom itself is revealed, and possibly the actual cause of the Earth's magnetic field. The paper is concluded with proposals to test the arguments · The velocity of all mass via the big bang is the speed of light. It has direction and velocity; hence it shall be called the expansion vector. · There is only one fundamental entity in the known universe, loosely known as corpuscles, photons, strings, or quanta. I shall refer to it as quanta "q". · Everything in the univ…

I am new here, so hopefully this is an appropriate post for the speculations section. This is about the first principles of gravity and the differences between Newton's version and Einstein's version. When looking at the effects of the two versions, the differences are obvious. Newton used the inverse square law where the force you feel from another mass is inversely proportional to the square of the distance you are from it. Go twice as far away and you feel 1/4 the force. When modelling planetary orbits, you always end up with an elliptical orbit that never precesses. Unfortunately for his theory, the orbit of Mercury precesses. Newton was wrong. Einstein's is quite…

  9. I must be crazy This is still a work in progress. Unfortunately, hackers have been constantly delaying my progress by modifying or even deleting files so I decided to post before suffering another devastating setback which have occurred more than a few times before. I can only speculate as to why. I believe enough is done to validate the convergence of the model and to get a reasonably good idea about how valid the hypothesis may be. Hopefully you can suspend your disbelief long enough to get to the model and the evidence. This post is actually a prelude to the much more important logical model for a TOE which I hope to release soon. It has been on hold …

Could complex life exist on a rocky world with an extensive hydrogen atmosphere? This wiki article suggests hydrogen breathers might possibly exist.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogenosomes A rocky planet with more mass than the earth but with a hydrogen atmosphere would retain heat due to the super greenhouse effect of hydrogen and could maintain liquid water on it's surface much further away than the Earth is from our sun... In fact, I am going to speculate that hydrogen breathing life forms are likely more abundant than oxygen breathing life forms... We have already found several large rocky exoplanets, so far they seem to be more common than small roc…

  11. Based on the below simulation wheel gifs The general description of the concept of the wheel 1. the light swinging weights provide extra torque force on the left side (descending) 2. the wheel, in order to balance itself by increasing torque on right (decreasing on left), raise up the heavy ball on the right side (ascending) 3. when the heavy ball is lifted high enough to roll inward (or roll outward) while also push up the swinging weight, the result is an increase of torque force on left, decrease on right 4. the wheel, to balance itself again, rise up the heavy weight again, heavy ball roll inward/outward again..... and so, the process repeat over & over Questio…

    1) 1st assertion is that on a Grand and Quantum scale Gt varies as mc2/e. This to say the greater the energy < time and low gravity threshold. Likewise with less energy >Gt! 2) 2nd assertion defies common logic regarding four known laws, but reduced them to 3 known laws(i.e. electromagnetism, strong nuclear and weak nuclear)! 1 Graviton ∝ 10 femto Joules 3) An assumption of mine is that light, energy and gravity share properties unknown yet to man on a quantum and grand scale. G t ∝ mc²/e

We live on the skin of a planet whose gravity influences our rate of time. Researchers have demonstrated one of Einstein's theories of relativity - that the further away from the Earths center of gravity you are, the faster time passes. Einstein was proven correct when two synchronized atomic clocks were placed on different floors of a tall building. After a year, the clock further from the Earth`s center of gravity gained time quicker. By moving about 10 feet to the top of the stairs, you would age sooner by just under a millionth of a second! ...Also, we live here on Earth in a "changing" rate of time, due to moving bodies of mass around us. Along with lifting th…

  16. I wasn't sure where to post this but I presume that the answer to my question is either very simple or there is no answer so I decided to go for speculations. I apologise in advance for the crudeness of my argumentation: If I kick a ball, my body is depleted of a certain amount of energy which is being transfered onto the ball. If an atom of U235 is being struck by a neutron it falls apart emmiting energy but at the same time its loosing some of it's mass. The mass is depleted and transformed into energy. If a star emmits radiation it looses some of it's mass which exactly correlates to the amount of energy that it emmited. Again, the stars mass is depleted. As far as I …

Now don't call me stupid here I've looked at how LCD monitor works. But in my head I am looking for a fiber optic display. Fiber optic transfer light, but it sounds a bit weird having to beam the light on each fiber precisely on the side of the screen to generate an output in comparison to running electricity and changing voltage for an LCD monitor. But hey, the theoretical result is this monitor can act as both a display and a touch screen like this display here without the camera and it lasts a long time. I'm looking into this because of the flexible display design here that peak my interest. Eventually I want to apply this technology to an AR glasses. Now graphene is i…

  18. I have been , and still am , reading about the thrust by the 10 great scientists of history , in their endeavour to understand " How and why the universe works ,the way it does " ? These are :- Isaac Newton, Niels Bhor, Galileo Galilei, Albert Einstein, James Clerk Maxwell, Michael Faraday, Marie Curie, Richard Feynman, Ernest Rutherford, Paul Dirac. Of course there are other scientists of note, but these lay the structural basis for our current understanding of how and why the universe works the way it does . Although not individually stated one thing becomes clear most of them worked from the idea that it was the immediate neighbouring item that caused …

  19. "A study done several years ago showed that the universe's energy is decreasing. What if gravity, too, has been getting weaker?" --- Dark matter, in a nutshell, is a theoretical force envisioned by scientists that would explain the behavior of galaxies that seem to be spinning fast enough for some of their stars to fly out of their orbits but do not. For galaxies to remain intact they would have to have a greater gravitational pull than their visible mass suggests. Scientists therefore theorized, as far back as the 1930s, that there must be some invisible matter -- dark matter -- that's holding galaxies together. The problem is that as hard as we try to detect dark matt…

  20. Hi. I am new to this Forum, but have followed this and similar stories. Cold Fusion is now called Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR) among other terms. This is because instead of fusing two items (which is reported to occur mildly), several atoms give off parts which then fuse into a third unstable atom which then Beta Decays into IR heat. I know it will take a ruler upside most of the heads here before anyone will look at this seriously but this thread was started in 2011 and a lot more information is now available. The claims of Andrea Rossi in 2011 were so alarming that a lot of CF research was redirected towards Nickel/Hydrogen variations with much succ…

  21. I keep coming across scientists and intellectuals who are entertaining this idea, that the world around us is some type of Matrix. Could it be that we are trapped in someone else's video game? Testing this hypothesis would be very difficult with today's technology, but some scientists think it's possible.

  22. I would argue that space has nothing to do with time. Masstime seems closer to the truth to me. If mass where creating time and gravity then that would explain dark matter, dark gravity, and redshift. Redshift as in with this school of thought all distant galaxies would appear to be moving away, even if they where moving toward us. So as you approach a black hole there's a lot of mass/gravity which means lots of time. The same would go for the speed of light, the faster you go, the more massive you become and the more time you have. What I mean by more time is, time moves slower so you have, more time.

  23. Maybe it's just me, but I've never really followed the logic behind this experiment. (They also did another experiment like this but with the atomic clocks inside of planes that flew around the world.) It seems like theoretically the only way you could make "time" go faster is if you went into a dimension that has a different set of 'laws' than this reality, and then transitioned back to this dimension...As in you would spend 1 day in the other 'dimension' of time and space, then come back and it would be 10 years later in this reality.

  24. I believe that, both, dark matter and dark energy are "created" within black holes... I will speak, specifically, about supermassive black holes at the centers of galaxies.... Perhaps, when matter enters the black hole, "torsion" occurs at such a high rate, that on the "other side" (south pole) of a black hole, dark matter is spit out in a sort of reverse accretion disk. As the size of a supermassive black hole, at centers of galaxies, are relative to the size of the galaxy, it could explain why dark matter is appears to be hovering on the outscirts of galaxies, not in empty space .....Perhaps the fourforces are combined with matter and light in a way…
