Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

discusses a man named Aldo Costa who has constructed a ferris wheel with 256 (empty, & moveable) wine bottles, (middle in Paris). The mechanism appears rather obvious (to me): the bottles on half of the wheel (vertically seen, left vs right) are (~10 cm) further out radially from the axle, than the other (half) side. The bottles are pushed up at the top (most) & bottom (most parts) of the wheel's circumference using lever rods (at the bottom) & pivots (with guide at the stand's top). Once moved (~10 cm up) each bottle (rotated) stays in position because their pivots …

  2. Hi, I have been recently looking into a thought experiment of a theoretical material which is composed of negative charges (electrons) fused together (with r=0) and positive charges (up quarks) fused together (r=0) so that the magnetic field would equal infinity. The idea with this material is to have the electron-electron pairs and up quark-up quark pairs be placed in orbit around each other and to have the orbits synchronized so that the same charged pairs can accelerate their counterparts up to a greater orbital speed (therefore increasing the magnetic field). Also the pairs with the same charge will have their spins synchronized as well so that they speed up…

  4. Dear all, Before asking your opinion on the subject that comes, I would first want to rule out a particular prejudice, that of extraterrestrials. A majority of scientists will retort me without delay: "The extraterrestrial life is not proven." Admit, and again the evidence abounds but who does not want to see anything sees nothing. I will answer on the subject of extraterrestrials: The absence of extraterrestrial life is not proven. No scientist in the world can give me wrong. So let's continue. This is the secret that is almost none but I want to bring it to your attention because the time you devote to your scientific research may leave yo…

I am trying to find a way, using psychology and visual recognition techniques, to teach kids from grade three to grade five the basics of maths, so they may learn my more advanced maths earlier. My goal is to filter the maths down, so they may gain confidence to approach science, and then take first year college subjects in high school, so as to prepare them for college studies, or, produce a competent high school graduate. In grades one and two, they should play rummy with cards, to learn to count and add and subtract. This number recognition is essential for higher grades, and, playing scrabble will lead to basic language education for the in a fun game for kids, o…

The human body and that of all organisms is where we find that it is merely something that reacts - matter that is less dense than that of metals yet more dense than gases. This is because the semi metals comprise life, and, they will always. True, that some metals are also there inhibiting us, but, these are there for gentle dissolving, where they slowly dissolve in our bodies and get a lot of influence due to their magnetic fields, of course. These fields will give off some form of radiation, warming the body, as, that is what they are there for. ~ This is like a floating pool cleaning device gives off a meagre amount of soap every now and then, but floats near the…

  7. The Special Theory of Relativity claims that an observer in a spacecraft moving with the speed v relative to e.g. Earth, will always see that the clocks on Earth run more slowly than the clock in the spacecraft, according to the formula for time dilation T = To / (1- (v / c) ^ 2)) ^ 0.5. Let's check the credibility of this claim in the following example: T The reference clock on Earth simultaneously generates radio waves with the frequency f = 1000 Hz, and has an external, very large visible from space, digital display of the date measured by this clock. Assume that the spacecraft on 1.01.2020 takes off from Earth and at a speed of v = 180,000 km /s perfo…

So quick question, are our models of reality based on probability because we cannot observe the universe at certain scales due the thing that we need to observe messing up measurements like light and atom particles. Or is it the other way around? Being that we cannot observe things at such small scales because of the probability and uncertainty of the universe as a whole?

If you wish to discuss your paper, please post it in the appropriate section, minus the emotional email distractions. If your paper doesn't follow mainstream science, you're welcome to post it in our Speculations section, where you can defend its merits with supportive evidence. Due to the fact that Fundamental Journals is a known predatory publisher, you'll need to present extraordinary evidence for any extraordinary claims. This thread is closed. 10. Some people misuse the fact that dreams are not completely understood as a method to say that dreams may come from parallel universes. I am trying to win an argument with my friend concerning this topic and I need evidence that contradicts this statement. Though, the burden of proof argument comes into play, please don't comment that as it has already been stated. Surely there must be some logical rule that prevents dreams from occurring in parallel universes if you have an inkling please comment as it will be greatly appreciated.

I have couple questions about the time, measured by 2 light clocks in a frame, which moves at a constant velocity - where one clock is perpendicular and second one is parallel to the direction of motion: https://www.pitt.edu/~jdnorton/teaching/HPS_0410/chapters/Special_relativity_clocks_rods/index.html 1. First, the parallel one - according to SR, distance which is being passed by a photon is in this case reduced due to lenght contraction. When the photon is moving in the same direction, as the entire frame, lenght contraction cancels out the increased distance, caused by motion of the clock (as light is "chasing" the mirror) - this is why, the same time ca…

"The Law is not itself God, nor is God the Law." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer Attempts to achieve total conscienceness exhibit asymptotic freedom. Simplicity and clarity are signposts on the way to truth, but the approach of creationism produces a false simplicity at best. It's wrong to question motives, but the desire to "know" can become obsessive and can turn into a desire for there to be nothing unknown at all as an achievable goal. "Turn key" belief systems do not dispel mystery, they whitewashe it. Now then, to prove that classic creationism is in no way possible would be to prove that an omnipotent creator does not exist. And, quantum mechanics seems to allow f…

  13. This I have been staring at for about half an hour now, and, have found that the elecronegativity can be worked out like the weights of elements I depicted at a earlier point. Basically, you take the atomic number, or, number or protons, and, observe that every time the number increases, (-1) [Atomic radius] (+1) [Ionization] (+1) [Electronegativity], coming to +2 per atomic listing. This means that Hydrogen is [3], and Lithium is [5], okay? Then, that number that it comes to is divided by the row it is on, times by half the column it is listed in, okay? ~ This is still a work in progress, so please help me find out the formula?

  14. Exist borders between Physic’s and Metaphysic’s issues? I suppose that this is a broader list of issues, as the studies of nature are in so many fields. I am interested only in the issue of “particularity” of matter, and indeed in my last post question of why “electron and proton particles” are what they are, so stabile, and so different. As I remember I had “not any answer” on my post about this conundrum. And always, when I have not any satisfactory answer, I scratch my pot of speculation, for finding “whatever kind of a speculative answer” to satisfy myself. Here are my speculations: In Nature must be two kinds of frequencies: 1----“ El…

  15. Isn't 'science' education" actually brainswashing? Yes of course it is, the whole 'education' system is here to dumb people down, take away their creativity and learn to conform. That's why the theories of 'scientists' are so very strange, they can't think straight anymore and confuse mathematics for the real world. It's a sad state of affairs.

  16. This is where the attractive forces themselves come from. If they were not attracted to each other, the whole atom would fall apart, and, there would be no matter. So, if there was no attractive force between other things, due to electromagnetism, there would be no things, world or universe. This follows that the world is held together by electromagnetism and everything is affected by this fundamental force. The atom itself is held together by a neutron that bonds with the protons. This leads to zero friction, as they have bonded. Then,t he electron will be attracted to the proton, held back by the repulsion of the other electrons coming together like a fullerene com…

Previously, I have come up with two perpetual motion engine methods; [1] The oscillation method. This would be where we apply force to one side of the oscillator, and have it bounce back at nearly the same amount of energy, applying it into the 'mechanism.' This is added to by the addition of more energy from the source to a new area, maybe in a reversed circle, where the rotation will send more energy than was initial injected to the system. This comes from the balls rebounding and producing, basically, [90%] then [80%] then [70%] and so forth amounts of the initial energy as the balls bounce back and forth. [2] The suction method. This would be where we observ…

well I really wonder how 'something' can come from 'nothing' as the Big Bang implies. of course something like that can't be done, but it is also against all physical laws, right? So how do they explain then that 'something' came from 'nothing"?

  19. Hi, There is now a very simple way to calculate Hubble's Constant, by inputting to an equation, the numerical value of Pi and the speed of light (C) from Maxwell's equations and the value of a parsec. NO space probe measurements (with their inevitable small measuring / interpretation errors) are now required. Hubble's Constant is 'fixed' at 70.98047 PRECISELY. This maths method removes the errors / tolerances that is always a part of attempting to measuring something as 'elusive' as Hubble's Constant. To save you labouring through Astrogeometry, the Hubble 'fixing' equation is :- 2 X by a meg parsec X by light speed (C). This is then divided by Pi to the power of …

If the sun, as predicted, will uncomfortably expand in the far future, couldn't a process be developed of sending mechanisms to enter the solar core to fission the heavier elements before that becomes a critical issue, thus maintaining an appropriate ratio and so keeping the unwanted eventuality at bay?

  21. Hi all, I would like to pose some questions about Gravity as a zero-point-fluctuation force of Puthoff. The article: Zero Point Field cause an oscillation on fundamental particles. (electrons and quarks) and this cause a mutual interaction between those particles. Making the calculations Puthoff observes the correct dependence on distance. (r-2) The questions are: to simulate the presence of a particle outside a macroscopic object it should be sufficient to recreate the variable electromagnetic field that the particle would generate by oscillating. It would be enough to have such a field and the macroscopic object would be attracted by the gravity of the '…

Time and space are what make a universe but are they both fundamental things? What I am asking is one the source and the other emergent i.e. does time emerge from space or does space emerge from time? These two things are so closely related and interchangeable that I am asking if it is far more likely they are one in the same thing, for example if you are a certain distance from me you are also a proportional amount of time from me, to be here is to be now so are we really talking about two separate things or just one thing and that which emerges from it? There may be some speculative way to look at time and space that explains their compatibility while maintai…

Your optic nerves transmit two (2) channels of streaming video which they received via reflected/radiated light that entered the pupil of your eye, passed through the lens and struck the back of your eye. These inverted images are then transmitted to your subconscious mind which combines the two and with only the center portion of said image being in focus. If reading, …

  25. Hello, first time poster here. Pre algebra mathematics level but fan of theoretical nomenclature and explainations. For a few years the idea of the Higg’s field being the result of white hole decay has haunted me. Most people assume black hole and white hole symmetry but forget to incorporate that Universe creation may symbolize an off symmetric white hole. After the creation of the Universe in dimension (edges), excess energy still existing forced these edges of highly charged space torwards the center. Constantly twisting a dimension of energy until a white hole was created at the center giving the above one integer. The universe in measure of expansion must open before…
