Hi. Are different tree species graft-compatible if one of these classifications coincide ? Or has to be an specific one ? Or more than one ? Or that is not it ? Example: Can Apricots and peaches be cross grafted because both share a bunch of clades and more ? If they coincide in only one of the clades; are they compatible ? How is it known ?

  3. Well they say by figuring out the exact structure of a protein could sometimes take years and millions of dollars. Why does it take so long to study proteins or the exact structure of a protein? They also say it takes millions of dollars and very long time and meaning scientists were only able to study a tiny fraction of them. This slowed down research to tackle disease and find new medicines. Why does it take so long to find the exact structure of a protein?

Just how complex are the human body cells, tissue and organs? What is the best way to visualize the complexity of human body cells, tissue and organs? Are cells like ultra small factories and organs like ultra small cities if one is to visualize the complexity or is it more complex than that?

Hello to all, it's great to be here, and hopefully this is an appropriate board for this thread. I have completed a novel (which will be the first of three in the series) that it written as a Science Fiction (with elements of Fantasy) tale that starts out with an alien invasion by a race stating Earth is a seed planet, and that they are a "galactic rescue team" that has come to rescue those who wish to be delivered from the imminent and unavoidable destruction of the earth. I have already written into it the discovery of a more complex DNA structure, and have researched DNA in order to make it seem somewhat plausible from a Science Fiction perspective. Of course, yo…

There was a video I will have to see if I can find it, they are printing 3D organs like a liver or kidneys so on. This got me thinking like how long before doctors and scientists can use 3D printed organs to replace bad or dying organs in the body? Is this some thing 10 to 15 years out before they have 3D printed organs? What are the problems holding them back? I thought one of major problems they had is how to connect every thing and supplying the blood and nutrients to the organ.

Various people have said it would be possible for people to fly with strapped-on wings if they were in a low gravity environment like the Moon (and assuming the air pressure was about the same as on Earth). Okay, I'm certainly willing to believe that, but I want to know how this would work. Is it simply a matter that people could produce enough thrust with the wings to lift themselves into the air once they reached a certain low weight? (For the sake of argument, let us assume a 4-meter wingspan and about 4 square meters of wing surface.) I'm not sure I could flap my arms fast enough to lift myself off the ground even if I did only weigh 30 lbs. I know some b…

One of the most often sighted cryptids and or sea monsters is the sea serpent, sailors, for centuries, gace reports of giant sea monsters that were large enough to endanger their ships and other wise scare the bejesus out of otherwise brave men. Some of the examples were the giant squids, now days we know that giant squids exist, maybe not as big as reported but still big enough to be monsters. Sea Serpent sightings are now days thought to be the result of Oarfish being mistaken for Sea Serpents but there are sea serpents alive today, real snakes that live in the sea, one of which is reputed to grow to 9 feet long. But has there ever been a real giant sea serpent like the…

  12. I was groggy (so I'm assuming the following should have been slower than normal), and dropped something, but I actually move faster than usual. Is the faster movements using the reflex system, as in the real one related to pain, and not just the idiom related to learning from repetition? If not, was it my perception that my movements were faster, but they actually took as long as normal, or negligibly faster? Thank you kindly

  13. My beard normally grows slowly and I like to keep checking, most of the time I don't find any new beard after 2 or 3 days of complete shaving. However, one day I was very stressed, angry and depressed and then I could find new beard only one day after shaving. I wonder if rate of beard growth largely relate to stress?

how do we intergrate them? I support transgender rights, but there are serious issues with former men entering women's sports. Mike Tyson would be an example. Would it be possible to have another way to determine who plays what sport? So instead of male and female, base it on muscle ratio or testosterone levels? Do we need to do anything at all?

  18. When a plant seed germinates, how exactly does a germ access nutrients from the endosperm? Does it grow like a tiny roots into the endosperm? Can plant roots absorb starch (or at least break the starch into sugars before absorbing)? For example, if I mix wheat flour into ground and then seed wheat there, will this wheat be able to access nutrients from the flour?

  19. https://nutritionfacts.org/video/does-dietary-cholesterol-eggs-raise-blood-cholesterol/ Get guys, Long time reader, first time poster. Anyway just watched the above video by Dr Greger from Nutritionists.org and was wondering whether the information he provides is accurate. Does anyone know? Is it true that egg consumption increases the cholesterol in our bloodstream and throughout our body or does the body simply not absorb this excess cholesterol if we happen to eat too many eggs? Any confirmation would be high appreciated. Thanks, Nutrition4Health

A plane made of plants Have you heard about houses made of living plants? Have you heard about cars made of living plants? Is an airplane made of living plants possible? Do planes made of living plants exist? Is it possible to make an airplane from living plants? Don't ask why. It's for beauty. I am sure that it is possible to make an airship with live plants. I haven't heard about planes with live plants. I wonder why they don't use airships? I heard a funny joke that this is a conspiracy of aircraft builders. I don't believe in that.
