What do you think about raw feeding for dogs, cats and other carnivores? It's a diet that exists primarily of uncooked meat, edible bones and organs. I've been feeding my dog (West Siberian Laika) raw for maybe 5 years. His teeth are more clean then when he ate dry food and he eats more. He thinks raw food is a lot more tasty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_feeding

From what I can tell, there's only one subkingdom in the fungi kingdom, the "Dikarya." For whatever obscure reason, numerous sources hint at another subkingdom that possess flagella, but never remotely explain anything about it, and there's no point in having a "subkingdom" if it's only one category. All that's said is that Dikarya is divided into Ascomycota and Basidiomycota. All I'm looking for is the most general taxon rank for a fungi just below the actual kingdom of fungi that includes the Dikarya and whatever this mystery category is. What about molds? They're a fungus aren't they?

I don't know if someone from your department was incompetent enough to do this or if its some internet apocalypse, but every time I try to post now an add tries to pop up and take over the entire post, I don't have time to write a title I have to copy and past as quickly as I can. Everything here is super slow, your site probably got hacked. My question is: how can organs be transported on ice if freezing kills cells?

Good day. Hope I am putting this in the right forum. Recently following happened to me: My phone was stolen out of my hands by a motorcycle thief last week in an Asian capital. I was there for the weekend. Within split seconds I had to figure out is something pulling a joke? where is my friend? never mind this is a robbery, do i fight or stay? So I started chasing him on foot and started screaming. I was giving all I had, running at the speed of motorcycle at some point and scream louder than cars. Bike was right in front me, and I saw the plate number, but my memory function was almost shut down. I couldn't memorize it. My mind was preoccupied with my photos …

Who comes up with the names? How do they come up with them? Is there some root language like Latin and then they stick an extra letter at the end or something like that?

For some unfathomable reason, scientists and journalists claim there's billions of bugs and bacteria that live in the upper atmosphere but don't provide one microscopic reference to any actual species of anything. Does anyone actually know definitely what specific animals actually live in the upper atmosphere or is it all a hoax?

Which of the following is NOT REQUIRED for speciation to happen? Choose all that apply. The elimination of (or reduction of) gene flow between 2 populations Different selection pressures acting independently in each of 2 separated populations Genetic drift acting independently in each of 2 separated populations The evolution of some trait(s) that make(s) the production of fertile, viable hybrids impossible

How did scientists know what happened millions of years ago if no one was there to see it? And if we are going to teach this to our students, what is the best instructional material to used? I am newly hired secondary teacher. I am just preparing myself on this topic. I hope someone will reply to my post. Thanks in advance.

Hi! Good day everyone my name is Nehemiah robles I'm from phillipines and i'm a college student from lyceum of the phillipines university manila taking a Bachelor of Science in international hospitality management with specialization in cruiseline operations in culinary arts. Today i'm doing a project about presenting a philippine biodiversity based on natural resources/living things. i am here to show you what biodiversity here in phillipines looks and what its like. i came here in scienceforums.net and looked for a random topic/chat here in this site and i noticed its entitled "The Reality we live" although it doesn't really talked about biodiversity or anything but it …

A cat with a long tail and brown with white spots is crossed to a tailless black female. All kittens have medium length tail and are black with white spots. Predict the probability of the following in the F2: Medium, brown, spotted Long, black, solid Tailless, brown, solid Long, black, spotted So this is a curveball question for me because I have only solved trihybrid crosses with only 2 alleles, this one has 3 alleles for the tail length (Long, medium, tailless) so how would I set this up and solve it?

Actually I know what biosphere consists of. I mean there is more to the biosphere than flora and fauna. And humans. Does the earth have a particular signature? Can Earth be located from any point in the Universe because of this signature?

Create a dystopian society where the government stores the semen and eggs of its citizens and then make them infertile. Wait until the said citizens die and if the time of their death is greater than the average life expectency of the total population, create more of them. Rinse and repeat. Sure, there will be outliers and many other variables like wealth... But with law of large numbers + time, there should be some results. On a more serious note, although it's too much for humans, have there been a study like this with creatures with shorter life spans like Lab Rats? Would be interesting to find the mutations that they obtain to be able to live longer

All bio-structures are built from the same six essential elemental ingredients: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur (CHNOPS). They differ only in the number and spatial arrangements of these ingredients. Hence, if we start with the simple self-replicating molecule, then the only way to find evolutionary selectable spatial arrangements of CHNOPS is by re-arrangements. The idea of evolution is based on two fundamental premises. The first one says that mutations cause variations a.k.a. re-arrangements or different spatial arrangements of CHNOPS. The second one says that the certain variations will be selectively preserved in response to environment. For…

If a male person who hasn't had sex till age 19 teens, suddenly loses his DNA genes chromosomes penis as well as testicles to another person who uses it, and his own is replaced by that another persons'. Then would that other person could use the first person penis as well as genes DNA chromosomes testicles to fertilize eggs of female and thereby producing offsprings of mixed race genetics? Then the first person of whose the original dna chromosomes testicles were, how can he identify in a crowd as to who has stolen his testicles and penis, and using it produce offsprings without his permission? As no name or identity is written over it, only that 23 pairs of chromosomes …

Dear Fellow Human Beings on the Quest for Truth, I am currently working on my PhD dissertation regarding the ever-elusive topic of human beauty (what have I got myself into!?). I have gathered a lot of "field" data, but I am currently facing a challenge. I can't seem to find an effective digital image processing software solution for evaluation of facial attractiveness. Of course, I am not looking for a "one button" solution but I was hoping that I wouldn't have to build a program from scratch. I don't even know how that is done. I am just searching for a fast way to analyze all the photographic data. Absolutely any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! …

I get how the Crispr matches the DNA and make the cut with its molecular scissors, but after this step, assuming you want to replace in another sequence of DNA at the place where you made the cut, where do you pull that DNA sequence from? Does it just happen to be nearby in the solution?

How does one explain, using scientific terminology, the difference between living and non-living material that has the same molecular structure? If you (or a computer) were to analyse a bacterium at the molecular level, how could you tell the difference between a living bacterium and a dead one? Obviously there is a way because there is a difference, but what is this way?
