First off, only those with morgellons or knowledge of it need reply. I'm just curious as to how many of you are aware of the flat hexagonal crystals associated with this disease or whatever you want to call it. The ones that came out of my skin are identical to others that I've seen around the net. I am simply trying to provide important knowledge involved with this disease, specifically, that these crystals should become the main focus of research into morgellons

I want to become a software developer someday, but I’m having a little issue. When I was 20 years old I got arrested for a misdemeanor and spent a night in jail for it. I’m concerned whether or not I’ll ever get a job in the tech sector since I have a criminal background now. Do I still have a chance of being an developer or am I screwed for life?

In grammar school I learned that it is not proper English to end a sentence with "at", such as in "I don't know where it's at", rather than standard English is "I don't know where it is". Does anyone else ever think saying "where it's at" is an awkward usage? It is very common to hear it, so much so that is now seems standard, but to me sounds uneducated. Didn't those people learn in grammar school that is not appropriate English usage? Do many of you prefer to use "where it's at" than "where it is"? Does anyone else agree "where it's at" sounds wrong? I understand the wide acceptance of the use of double negatives in a sentence, such as in "he doesn't know noth…

This is depressing and I wish I had better news to share, another person I've known commited suicide. He was Dutch, he was in his late 30's, wife, two daughters. He left 2 letters for his family (don't know whats in them) He hung himself at his friends place, seems he planned it well ahead. This is the 3rd guy I've known who killed himself in the last 4 years. All of them had families, no terminal diseases, no serious drug or alcohol problems. Its depressing as hell, what the f is happening, is it "that age" when people go for it or is there a wave of depression hitting people harder than before. This sucks

  7. Seems every culture/nation wants / has developed its own 'dialect' I believe there is an international sign language, at least in intentions. Can a deaf person that only knows a particular variation of sign language from his country, understand a 'decent' amount of international signs to carry a cross conversation ? If such international language was someday a reality; could it bypass spoken languages as a -say chinese- sustain a sign conversation with a -say hebrew- ? And all other cultures permutations, without learning all the involved spoken languages themselves ?

On August 21st of this year a total solar eclipse will cross the United States. Luckily for me my home will be in the path of totality. The path of totality is about 73 miles wide. I am about 20 miles from the center line, and am trying to decide whether or not to move closer to the center line. An advantage of being on the center line includes the fact that at the center totality will last about 160 seconds, while at my home totality will only last about 115 seconds. Disadvantages of traveling to the center line include the traffic, crowds, and an unknown environment. Of course, the crowds could potentially enhance the experience. One thing in particular…

This may seem like a simple question. The obvious answer would be to read more books or to read more news articles. But I often find this to be hard for several reasons, I tend to lose interest in a particular book fairly quickly and I get bored whenever I read a news article in which the context goes over my head, for the latter, I essentially don't get the whole picture due to my gap in knowledge about a specific topic and that makes me lose interest. The most I would do these days is skim over a news articles, and then subsequently realising that I didn't pick up anything at all. I am the kind of person who has huge bursts of energy for a particular thing and refra…

  11. Dear folks Yes I do understand scale ration 1:25 means 1 unit on a map equal to 25 units on a real and scale ration 1:75 means 1 unit on a map equal to 75 units on real Question my Kent tri scale ruler showing first number for ratio 1:25 as 0.5 m (i.e 50 cm, 500 mm) while first reading for ratio 1:75 as 1 m (100 cm, 1000mm) ? My confusion for the ratio 1:25 ruler has 25 small tiny line between 0 and next reading means 25 units right ?? if I multiply 25*25 = 625 why scale reads it as 500 mm or 0.5 m???? Same thing for the ratio 1:75 ruler has 20 small tiny lines between 0 and next reading means 20 units right ?? if I multiply 20*75 = 1500 why do I have 1000 mm …

  13. Hello, I am of course, atheistic. Beyond atheism though, based on scientific evidence, I had come to possess a state of mind that rejects not merely religious belief, but the very concept of belief. (As shown in my signature) I observe science's great importance, and I reject anything that disregards science, and so in addition to religious belief, I reject the very concept of belief. (See spoiler below) Spoiler WHY REJECT THE VERY CONCEPT OF BELIEF? Belief is one of many unavoidable candidates/concepts for that which opposes science, for belief by definition/research (See research/standard definition), permits large ignorance o…

  14. Movies, in general, reproduce what happens in real life. Many accurately, others with lots of fantasy, romance and action. But, of course a cliché is repeated in all: the man “He-man” and the woman “Barbie”. The woman cries, is romantic, sexy, must be protected, etc. The man is strong, protector, male, etc. The woman can be strong, see Carly Fiorina (former CEO HP)... The movies should change this view on men and women.

Hello guys. I've decided to start a small workshop where people bring me computers to repair/upgrade.(No, this is not advertisement.) I can upgrade hard drives, rams(insanely easy actually) etc. Basically, they'd have to come to me. However, I'm not expensive. To get a routine checkup and fix minor problems would be $25. This would take about an hour. If I have to fix stuff and it takes longer then an hour, then it's an additional $10 for each hour. Remember, they must come to me. For ram upgrades it'll be $40 and they'll just drop it off and I'll install the ram. The main cost of that is because I have to find which ram it takes, what size, …

  18. Hi all, During my PhD when I was most frustrated with research, I started working on a puzzle platformer based on electrostatic calculations. By now, my PhD is finished, and the game is still a work-in-progress. I recently compiled a new demo build with the first five puzzles and I was hoping to find people here who might be interested in the concept, and contribute a few comments on the demo. I would be grateful for feedback on the concept, as well as the demo, particularly if you get stuck somewhere. A video of the game (links to the most recent build are in the youtube video description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyu8UukSjyk

There are people that do not know what is be poor. There are poor people from rich countries, there are poor people from not very rich countries and there are poor people from poor countries. The poor of rich countries have everything: home, car, cable TV, internet etc. They complain of "full tummy". Exception in the United States where everything is expensive (greed), there is easy access to health insurance, mortgage etc. In poor countries services are of low quality. There are miserable people.

  20. Almost a year ago, I made a claim by writing an article about a hidden technology that is capable of doing a satellite-based brain stimulation to control our body and I also made a claim that this technology has been used to give a range of psychological illnesses throughout the world. Although my claims looked controversial to certain people at first, I managed to find more and more astonishing evidence directing me towards a truth, that is much more bigger than I initially expected. Based on the observations that I made earlier I published an article on “Before it’s news” and few other web sites. Following is a link to that article, http://beforeitsnews.com/conspir…

Hello everyone In 2 weeks, I'm going to buy a new laptop. I have my eyes on two of them. One (A) costs about € 1,300, the other one (B) about € 1,500. A: 7th generation Intel Core i5, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 15.6" touch UHD 3840x2160 px, Intel HD Graphics 620 (shared, 2 GB), supports Windows Ink B: 7th generation Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 15.6" touch FHD 1920x1080 px, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX (dedicated, 4 GB), supports Windows Ink, comes with active stylus Since I'm quite in need of some storage, I was quickly convinced to go with the pricier one with 512 GB SSD. However, the UHD property of the cheaper one left me in doubt. In a 15.6" display…

  23. Although the feminist movement initiated in the 1960s the world is still chauvinist. Many women are independent, they study and work. But many do not. Many women do not let that the will of man prevail. But many leave. Many women are intelligent and insightful. But many are foolish. Some examples. In some countries the men like women with large breasts, the women put silicone. In other the men like women with big butt, the women stay with big butt. In many home sex videos, women show their face, but the men do not, because men do not want to appear? (chauvinism). Porn movies with scenes of abuse (woman object). Etc. Patriarchy and boss, many women still think so. Machismo…
