Hi there guys, I'm 18 and have ve been accepted by Imperial in the UK, the Hague, Amsterdam, and Utrecht to do business and economics. My dilema is this: my heart lies in maths, but I can't apply to any UK universities to do maths now, until next year. What should I do? Stay another year and reapply then? I speak german, french n spanish well enough to do maths in any of those languages, so maybe that's an option? How easy is it to switch courses at university (ie immediately)? Thanks, i'd appreciate any advise.

  2. i'm posting this here cuz i've already made several threads concerning depression medication, and this one is particularly not so scientific, but still worthy of discussion. So- when they say there are sexual side effects for say prozac, does that mean difficulty in preformance, or difficulty in impregnating/ being impregnated. If the later, extra plus to medication. We can do it any time anywhere. If the former be the case, seems it would compound the depression in a sense. Not saying sexuality is the most important factor in mental health, but doesn't it obviously have a significant role?

How is it possible to get a score of over 10,000 on the arcade's chopper challenge but be at the flight time of just a bit over 300 seconds, while another score of 6000 has a overwhelming time of some 2300 seconds?! What is this 1337 h4x?!

I am curious of why, for example, the pedophile thread was closed after everyone made there closing arguments, then reopended days later for one poster to make comments about another poster, then closed again. before there was a chance for rebuttal. I thought it was agreed to be closed at a certain time. I would have liked to have made a comment to the last post. Also, why is a person allowed to change the title of his post after many people have already answered it rendering the answers not making any sense anymore. Just curious Bettina

To all the members, You have gave me a tremoundous view of science. At first it was totally confusing, now it is coming into perspective. I will never get past basic science, Ion drive interests me tho. I watched a program on tv last night called alien planet very interesting, that program to me put future science in perspective . Science in the future or exploration in the future. I's hooked, thanks for all you help and knowledge. pljames

Hello, I'm new to the boards and didn't really know if this thread would fit into any of the other forums so I just posted it in General Discussion. I was wondering if anyone was aware if there was a correlation between substantially loud low frequencies or high frequencies and facial deformation or something to that nature. Also, does anyone know if physical stress, i.e. weight lifting, causes facial deformation? I guess what I am asking is if loud music causes facial stress or deformation; does loud music or physical activity alter facial bone structure. I know many of you may find this to be odd questions but I would appreciate it if you could give …

(Pronounced Laugh out loud at England) Recently, the English prince (forgot his name, but that's okay, because I'm an American, and thus don't need to know...anything) was recently sent to military school for bad behavior including wearing a nazi uniform to a party, dating some 19 year old blood seductress, among other things. What is with that kid...? ... Why can't they be more like Bush's daughters...

Regarding Jurassic Park III . . . Was anyone else as thoroughly pissed by the concept of a Spinosaur killing a T-rex? Sure, Spino was longer, with a possibility of having longer jaws, but really, it was a lightweight, it's jaws were propotionately much weaker, and most of it's teeth were about an inch long, designed to catch FISH!!!! I know that there were larger, possibly more powerful predatory dinos than Tyrannosaurus rex (Carcharodontosaurus, Giganotosaurus, etc), but Spinosaurus was not one of them. I'm just letting off some steam. Just watched it last night again, and it rekindled some old anger.

  23. http://www.space.com/spacenews/businessmonday_050509.html Basically he needs $400 million, which is less than the cost of one shuttle launch. It'll be a vehicle that can lift four people to earth orbit, go to the ISS or meet up with a moon-bound CEV once that NASA plan gets underway, or do something else. Each launch will cost only $20 million. And he can have it ready for first launch by 2008.

Hi - I'm attempting to do a uni project on the late great Albert Einstein. Now I know an embarisingly (my english is also terrible!) small amount about science and I was hoping for a bit of help. I don't need to go into great detail for this project but I need to know some main events in his life. I've managed to purchase me a biography and have charted some major life events and now I need to know about the major science discoveries he made and if possible a small simple explanation of each one? I'm hoping that someone could help me, I've searched online but can't really find anything of use. Also if anyone happens to know any interesting facts about the…

Good afternoon/evening or morning ladies and gentleman! While procrastinating and searching for stupid websites that "disprove" scientific theories, i stumbled across this forum's discussion on the webpage "The Final Theory.com". (which I have seen before, and can't believe somebody actually thinks that!) So I signed up to this forum, coz it looks like lots of fun debates, knowledge and news is passed here. I'm from the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia, and am currently studying an obscure little course called "Liberal Arts", in which we study society, religion (and its opposites), politics and stories from the ages. I plan to continue on next year and do an A…
