Glancing over at the face shield that I have, I notice how pleasing it is to the eye i.e. it's not really intrusive. Is that because of it's low refractive index, or that the edges are curved and have less possibility of catching the light to reflect back at me, I suspect that it's a combination of the two ?

I'm fabricating a 12vdc solar mount system for my RV that will rotate and change sun angle. Getting to old to climb on that roof to raise the panel. I have a mechanical engineering background but I need a little help finding the formulas and any hints or links you may. I don't have experience in motion design. I'm sure this has to have been done before and I thought, "Why reinvent the wheel?" Not asking to have it done for me. Providing all the details would be more difficult than calculating it myself. This has been a common trope running round most of the pop-science channels on Youtube over the last year or so. I won't name names but I guess some of you know some of the channels in question. It starts with a box with N particles randomly dotted around inside it. Been reading about kinetic energy weapons, and it got me thinking, say a 200 tonne passenger jet crashed into London at Mach 8, what would the resulting explosion/shock wave be like. Would it have the potential to flatten London, or would it be just a big ball of flames? Also, during the planes descent, would it speed up due to gravity or slow down due to a loss of thrust and friction?

Is there a way to describe how you set x=0 "in the classical phyiscal sense" or before QM came along?? I'm just looking for a straight forward simple answer. Example: Say we have 4 points ascending on a curve in the up direction in Cartessian Space. 1 2 3 4 and we want to measure a change between 3 and 4 Do we say x= 3 =0 and x= 4 = 1 ???

So they say Phobos, the inner moon of Mars, is on a collision course with Mars. Ok, I don’t disagree with that. I also do not doubt that this deteriorating orbit has something to do with the orbital period being lass than the rotation of the planet. My question is, Phobos is tidally locked to Mars, and it’s rotation vs revolution are synchronous, where does the angular momentum come from? With a deteriorating orbit, as the moon falls toward the surface, the orbital period will become shorter. As that happens, wouldn’t the frequency of rotation need to increase in order to remain synchronous with the orbital period? Where does the energy for that increase come fr…

Hello. If the hydrostatic pressure in the tank is 100hPa and the external pressure is 1013hPa, then in the mercury u-tube manometer the level of manometric liquid will be: 1013hPa - 100hPa = 913hPa 913hPa = -684.8mmHg ("-" because external pressure is higher) (?) Am I right?

Hello everyone, Today I made my own HHO generator. I tested it and used table salt as an electrolyte. I was amazed by the amount of gas the generator produced. I then decided to check if the generator was not short circuiting my positive and negetive from my 12v battery and then I saw that it does short circuit. Is that normal or did I do something wrong? Before I tested the generator it did not short circuit and now I drained the water from the generator it does not short circuit but it has a resistance of 300 ohm between the 2 terminals. I'm looking for ways of making a cheap scale (doesn't need to be too precise) and I turned to vacuums to use as a countering force (or atmospheric pressure, to be more precise). I'm thinking of simply sealing a syringe's barrel (the chamber) and then tying a little basket on the plunger (the tail), so I can weigh down the basket (with things I want to measure) and have the plunger move down to get a measurement. What do you guys think? Is the principle practical for such purpose?

For a projectile launched at different angles, does anyone know what the effect of these are on the accuracy of the projectile? for example, does time of flight determine the accuracy? BTW I am measuring 0-90 degrees above the horizontal. Thanks

A voltmeter has a very high resistance so that it doesn't draw a considerable amount of current from the circuit when connected in parallel. Lets say we have a circuit consisting of a single cell and a load of resistance R. Now a voltmeter is connected in parallel with a load of resistance R. Assuming something squared assumes a cycle of completion obviously for our second per second squared..Is that how it works?? Example of squaring the second would be the accelleration of earth's gravity at its surface 9.8 m/s-1... The moon "falling around" earth in a cycle from point a to point b, month to month..."example" Or even earth's seasons mark reference points "example" Summer to Winter.. So recently i have bean thinking about earth's gravity, and i have more of a theoreticall question, for people who understand more then me. What if some one reacreat a small round sphere, whit the same elements that are found in earth, and apply the same rotation speed, layers and magnet like north and south pole, but just smaller in scale. 1 law cant create energy. ok but you can give energy to a ferromagnetic and magnetize it. then magnetize as many ferromagnetic material as you want, and not diminish the magnetic field of the 1st one you had. I don't understand how no loss and how that is not considered braking the 1st rule

I am trying to get down to the bottom of this. How many different ways is it physically possible that a human being can be moving at any given time. I think the best place to start this is in an elevator. You can literally put a treadmill in an elevator and while that elevator is going up you can run on it. 2 so many there is a small earthquake and you don't fall but it shakes you a bit side to side.... so that could be 3 . Your building is on a tectonic plate which is moving very very slow... 4 the Earth is rotating ... 5 beyond that I don't have any clue other directions /ways we are moving at the same time. The ice skater and the ball on a string and the professor on a turntable all "spin faster" when the radius is reduced, but if you measure them, they do not "spin faster" enough. Not a little discrepancy that can be explained by blurting friction. We are talking about a discrepancy so large that it is a contradiction. Why is there no lab experiment verifying any of these demonstrations directly? How can we call it science if we have no experiment?

So 2 like charges are traveling along an electric field, the same direction, with force FExx spaced next to each other. If the electrostatic force between them is greater than FExx, the resulting force on each charge would be greater than 45° from FExx right? I'm looking to use the electrostatic force between charges to "bounce off the surface" of a cone. (picture) FE1 and FE2 are the forces between respective charges and the electric field, while FC Represents the electrostatic force between both charges.

Say we have 2 bodies ,mass=M composed of a set of smaller bodies ,mass=m set in a vacuum, what might be the maximum speed of separation from the respective centres of gravity.? Is it possible to say whether this speed would approach a limit given the effect of gravity or would this depend on the value of M ,m and ,I suppose n (the number of smaller bodies)? Or ,in Newtonian physics does it follow that the maximum speed of separation is without limits (infinite)?
