If puppy was thrown from 30 feet high and 40 feet away would it splat or bounce? I know this is horrible but my friend and i were having a big discussion on it, don't ask how it came up but any way i would like some scientific explanation behind your opinion. Thanks!

Has anyone else experienced the frustration of programming in assembly language ? ! I had to make a very simle recursive program in assembly, took me a good 4/5 hours to do and then debugging was nearly impossible !! I suddenly have a lotta respect for compilers !

I'm a member of another forum "Overclockers Australia", and as soon as you start a new thread, or post in an existing one, you become a subscriber. You then receive an e-mail every time anyone else posts in these threads, and there's a quick link directly to that post. It's convenient, because you don't have to log in, just to find out that nothing has been said. The same e-mail gives you the option of unsubscribing, if you wish. Just a suggestion.

Will you PLEASE follow the rules when posting a challenge?! Several times now I went to a thread and thought it wasn't a challenge, and made a normal reply, only to realize that it was actually a challenge and my reply shouldn't be there! Once I actually made an argument against them! Please, people!!!!!! And could a mod stickify this thread so people will see it?

For those 17 to 18-year-olds in the UK, they're going to be getting their A-Level results tomorrow morning! Here's a buffer for those who want to spill the beans and cry with joy/despair over the fate of their UCAS applications, and thus future lives. As far as I know, results will be available from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at your school or college across the UK (or at least at mine it is). Some people won't stop to say how things went here, of course, as they're probably going out to get drunk immediately afterward, whether the day's result was good or bad.

I was entertained. I was rather disappointed though, as they picked a format closer to the Predator series than the Alien series. There was not nearly enough suspense or mystery. The action scenes (however few) were rather cool, every one entirely worth the $8.95 I spent getting in. But... I'm pretty sure the first Alien movies were British productions, and should have stayed as such, but this one has been far too Americanized for my liking: All the artistic flavor, suspense, plot and mystery had been liquidated, making way for a watered down, cliche action-based plot-line, with all the moves and catch phrases to match. The choice of heroes was to my liking, …

Consider this the third : things that piss me off thread. Not that i'm that pissy about it, i'm just going to make a proposition, and i'll make it in a sec. For the record, the first was on Stupid CD-RW disc, and the second was on Hot Pockets. Well i have come to an idea that all people on the planet should be catagorized into those who undestand how time does exist, and those who think it dont. Those who think it dont will be shipped to the moon to continue their line of inferior genes, without contaminating ours. The only exceptions will be hot girls. But really i think there is a completely seperate psychology for those people who think time doesn't exist. How…

  18. Over here in the US there's a lot of controversy surrounding the use of black boxes (in cars), red light cameras, speed cameras, and radar jammers. Here's what they are, just so you know: BLACK BOXES keep track of data such as throttle, brake usage, and seat belt use for something like 30 seconds before a crash. (The memory only holds that much, and it continually recycles the memory space until a crash). They are often used in accident investigations to determine who did what. But people claim that the boxes are an invasion of their privacy. RED LIGHT and SPEEDING CAMERAS detect if a car is running a red light/speeding and will then take a picture of the …

I've never been overseas before. My mother's family is from England and I'm going to a wedding. (Suffolk, near Woodbridge, if anyone knows the area). I'm leaving from Dulles and arriving at Heathrow, and will be gone from the last week in September thru the first week of October. I've checked Expedia, Travelocity and Yahoo - I can get a Continental flight round trip for $426, British Airways has one for about $550. I have heard BA has better service, which has some importance to me, since I will be flying alone. I applied for my passport a couple of weeks ago - I should have it in plenty of time. The tickets are non-refundable, should I wait for my passport befo…

What is your favorite place to go on vacation? I prefer Sanibel Island, Florida, which is right off of Fort Myers. The best part is that there's no fast food restaurants, no neon signs, and no chain restaurants (except for a Dairy Queen that squirted through). Everything else is native to the island, and they have the best food. Plus there's great shelling (I found a 1-foot + LIVE shell!) and sunsets... What are yours?
