  1. it seems like news readers and football commentators as well as the tabloids and taking to the word "soccer" nowdays. whenever i look at the tabloids , i see "SOCCER STAR SCANDAL!!!" or when i watch sports news , they say "Soccer star misses drugs test". etc.etc. Is it the demise of Football?

I am opposed to what my teacher said. We have two different mass syring balance. And he said that we could obtain two equal weight if we use the two syring balance to measure each other. They are the normal balance used in common laboratory.

I have a question regarding my hearing and I think this is on the right board. I remember hearing that someone who studied music theory said that if someone listens constantly to music or any other sound and always has that sound in the background that it can be as detrimental to your hearing as listening to loud music on occasion? Is this true and if so how can it be treated? I hope this topic made sense.

I don't remember correctly from history, but I think I remember my teacher talking about the Olmecs inventing the wheel independently from the other side of the world. But my teacher said the Olmecs never used the wheels for carts or carrying stuff. Then I read something about how some Native Americans came to America from the Pacific islands. If this is true, perhaps they could've used the wheel for steering the boats.

I have just read an excellent article from "The Economist" about decoding European diplomats. http://www.economist.com/world/europe/PrinterFriendly.cfm?Story_ID=3152907 its asks a question For example, how many non-Brits could decode the irony (and literary allusion) which lies behind the expression “up to a point”, which is used to mean “no, not in the slightest” and I have no idea what the answer is. anyone have a go?

Hello, I'm writing and directing a short film, I'm questioning the events that take place in my own story (a bit bizarre)... A group of students are being trained for scuba diving in a pool facility on a college campus. Four students (three of them eventually main characters) are underwater (in their full gear) when a chemical is released in the air of the facility. Everyone above passes out, immediately collapsing to the floor, as these four students remain underwater (unaware of the tragedy that has taken place above). 30 seconds pass...two of the scuba divers (let's call them James and Richard) rise above the water to find their entire class (and instructors) on …

  23. ok, this is for all the musicians and composers in here. compose a theme tune for SFN, any style, any lenght. ovbiously we dont want a symphony or a concerto. if u dont have any software to write music in. either download the demo of sibelius or other such software. this is what you should do 1)compose the music 2)create an audio file, either recording of you playing, or a midi 2)post the sheet music as well good luck!! entries will be put up for a vote at the end of the allowed time which is 1 week

Since some experiences i've been having here, things that i've read, things that i see in my community, is a must to post this as a suggestion for the young scientist (those teenagers). First, i've been seeing that many of them post by posting, we have a very populated young audience here; There are rules i was reading one rule that many people skip. such as " to see if there is already a thread about it, people you got to get serious. Well, the idea of this thread is to make a reflexion on what do we follow to understand. Which are the correct definitions. Because many people, does not follow the definitions of the things they are speaking. Law metho…
