Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

STOP! Under Construction Please wait! g=2*h/(t^2)-2*vi/t. It looks (to me) like that term -2*vi/t has been missing for a long time. Surely you ((should) already) know it; but do you use it? For (fallen) height h time(_difference) t initial_speed vi. The free_fall acceleration g~-(Pi^2) [m/(s^2)]+ac g=~-9.8 [m/(s^2)] is (instantaneous,) linear, & negative; & (please bear with me) (the bothersome details:) (=but it) (is) slightly) reduced by the (Earth's daily_rotational) centrifugal_acceleration ac=(vc^2)/r having the (squared) Earth's (surface) circumferential_…

  2. t=time s=space e=energy m=mass Strangely the concept of nothing came to me when I started to account with physics, which had been pointing to (if it can be true), that the Universe started at s0t0. If (s) and (t) is zero than (e) and (m) must be zero as well since the laws of nature must apply on every entity in the system. Or expressing it differently: energy and matter can not exist without space and time. So the starting state of the Universe supposed to be (s0t0e0m0) even we can not directly examine that space time moment. In one hypothesis: “The null hypothesis is that nothing, zero is a physical reality based math…

  3. I have already found an error in the GRT equation for about six months, but I still did not dare to share this idea here. If you look at the equation of Newton's law of universal gravitation and Einstein's equation of general relativity, you can see that they both include the gravitational constant G. But this constant is dimensional, and its SI dimension is m^3/kg*s^2. In Newton's theory, space and time are absolute, i.e. the scales along the axes of spatial coordinates and time are unchanged, so it is logical that in Newton's theory G is a constant. But in GRT, when approaching a massive body, time slows down, i.e. the value of the second increases, therefore the numeri…

This is not my idea, but one of my friend thought of it, and it sounds like it would work. The idea is you have some massive metal tube stretching from the sea floor. A metal pole would be inside the tube, and the pole would be strapped to a buoyant object. As the tide rises/lowers, it would move the pole like a piston. The friend didn’t suggest how exactly the energy would be created, and I’m too dim witted to figure that out... but yeah.

  5. However, since I claim the uniqueness of the electron (even if there are several), it is logical that when there are several electrons therefore in an atom, to find a distribution which attenuates according to the distance from the nucleus. (because it is necessary to represent all the electrons with only one) and the more there is, the less its density presence becomes weak.

If you were to have a circular magnet(s) facing south inwards, and in the middle have a spindel with a bar that has perches with a magnet facing south on each side toward the other magnets, would that generate a spin? I am (probably obviously) not very knowledgeable with the forces, and don’t know much what I am talking about hence the lack of evidence, but my theory is the energy would come from the bar holding the magnets together. This however, would suggest some theoretical energy from material just existing. Another glaring issue is the whole forces not being energy problem, but it’s just speculation, and speculation is no more than that. Once again, I…

  8. Einstein written in terms of tau (2π) makes a beautiful equation visible and helps to understand GR: https://vixra.org/abs/1805.0304. I hope someone enjoys. From the abstract: I propose to rewrite the volume equation for the non-euclidian spherical Universe in terms of tau (2π) instead of π. Written this new way, a truly elegant equation and deeper structure becomes visible. Further, I postulate that the Universe is the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, i.e. that the 3-dimensional Universe we live in is the derivative-surface of its 4-dimensional hypersphere volume. 1805.0304v2.pdf

  9. The duration of an eclipse is directly proportional to the size of the object, all other things being equal (distance and speed). The duration of the total phase of a solar eclipse is 7.5 minutes (the Moon completely covers the Sun for 7.5 minutes). The duration of the total phase of the lunar eclipse is 108 minutes (the Earth completely covers the Sun for 108 minutes). With the same distance between the Moon and the Earth. At the same speed of the Moon (the orbit of the Moon moves with the speed of the Earth). The diameter of the Earth is 12,742 km. Therefore, the diameter of the Moon can be calculated using the following formula: 12 742 * (7.5 / 108) = 885 km. The offic…

The Unsolved Mystery of the Earth Blobs The coincidence of the angular sizes of the Sun and the Moon indicates that their sizes are proportional to the distances relative to the Earth. In addition, the Sun and the Moon have the same axial rotation periods - 27 days. In the earth's mantle there are two huge diametrically opposite formations (one is larger, the other is …

So first thing first, I took a look at the hyperspectral imaging page from Wikipedia(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperspectral_imaging) and as most of you know it is s system that utilizes Raman laser(laser reflection) and spectrometer. Now what is interesting is this time I found an application call thermal imaging in the same page in the Wikipedia page produced by a Specim LWIR hyperspectral imager. Now thermal imaging is quite common that utilizes the infrared light. Now the question is I am unsure on is how the hyperspectral image is produced because technically the infrared light goes through objects, so if I want to see through a person or a car I would…

  12. So I was looking at this video about Tesla turbine and I came up with a new idea. What if we use a magnetic field, like a motor, and increase its speed inside a vacuum with 0 gravity acting on its friction so it just keeps spinning faster and faster? Well I think one of two things would happen, either the material would not hold(breaks apart), or a whole hole be created in space time, leading to a previous, next block of the universe. Let me know what you think.

  13. Suppose I have a rest mass m0 of 10 kg, part of this mass 1 kg converts to energy, E=mc² , E=e joules. In this case I will have a new rest mass m0 which is 10-1 kg or 9 kg . pushed by the 1 kg energy This system of rest mass 9 kg will move by the 1 kg energy with speed v1 in which the relativistic mass for the system will be : m=m0/√(1-v²/c²) or m=9 / √(1-v1²/c²) Because no energy comes from out side, then m will be 10 kg and this for speed v1 and rest mass 9 kg * Now let's calculate the kinetic energy of the system : The relativistic kinetic energy of the system is energy of the rest mass or m0c^2 plus energy due to motion: K.E= m0c²/√(1-v1²/c²) +…

  14. I am a general topologist. I have my own theory of preserving information by black holes. (I have formulated my modified math model of general relativity and it is likely in my opinion that in this model information is preserved, but I didn't do calculations whether the model really preserves information yet, because my research topic was general topology, not physics.) The consequences? If we have an alternative explanation, the Hawkings's theory may be wrong. Isn't it so? I hope that both my theory and Hawkings's theory are correct (in the sense that they to be combined in one unified theory.) But if it happens (we don't know) that my …

  15. So I took a look at this video(posted below) regarding magnetic field and I think if I create an em wave similar to the coil(4:33), I should get a current in return? Thing is no one have generated a coil like em wave before, sort of like a tidal wave, somewhere in the microwave to infrared spectrum. P.S. To control the current's direction, coil the magnetic field inward or outward.

  16. So I found this microwave antenna unit on Alibaba. I want to turn it into an MRI machine to image the brain. How should I go about working on it? Following this chart based on my speculation: 1. Apply microwave on the brain to fix the atoms(water molecules) on a correct position since the microwave contains a magnetic field. 2. Apply a separate microwave pulse to turn the unmatched atoms and receive the reflected microwave. 3. Construct the image based on the microwave signal. Hi everybody! I would like to share three experiments I conducted some 11 years ago as also I may share all the technical details in case there is interest to make some calculations: url deleted per rule 2.7 I am searching for an answer in the following questions: a) Since there are no external forces pushing the ferromagnetic ring in any direction in all three videos then, how does it move? b) if (a) is correct then, what Newton's 3rd law has to say about it?

So, What is the evolutionary impact of evil? I know that one would argue it is not evolutionary but just an occurence of choice over instinct, but I think that is pretty wrong... Like atleast what are the evolutionary benefits and negative advantages? I imagine it is something to the extent of a evolutionary blocker of 'too much good' like with inbreeding... Or it is just like a cancer hanging onto humanity from there having been huge survival advantages at times in being 'evil' or cheating and stealing from others ect...

Hi folks. I finally found my formulas. Thank you, Mordred, for your early help and decent, courteous, replies. What is happening is this: Time evolves space, and spatial events, forward at c in the forward direction of time. Densities in space, masses, slow that evolution and their velocities are how time keeps them up with the rest of the continuum. Since orbital velocity, VO, = √(GM/R), the time dilation formulas for orbital velocities are derived from the gravitational time dilation formula, T0 = T√1 – (2GM/Rc2), which contains the velocity formula, by substituting VO for GM/R, i.e.: T0 = T√1 – ((2/c2)(VO)), resulting in: …

I’m positing this post about time as a hypothesis for consideration only. If it needs to be moved to a more appropriate place please do so. The current accepted model of time is that it’s linked to space called the space time continuum. But instead of it being seen a fabric of space time, what if time is just attracted to gravity just like matter is? My hypothetical view of time being attracted to gravity suggests that time becomes denser the closer time is to large masses in a similar way the atmosphere is denser closer to earth. Im proposing that time takes longer to pass through closer to earth because it’s denser than time in space. …

  21. Im 37, and when i was really young (6 or 7) i had a couple ideas. Some of those ideas are real things now, but the idea for perpetual energy i had has not, or so i think. I tried to find anything similar on the web, but could not, so i'm here asking questions. I know because of friction, this isnt actually perpetual motion, but i wanna share my idea and see if anybody has tried this before, or heard of anything like it. My idea used a mostly closed system and im going to try and explain it as well as i can. Think of the way a turbo works in a car, a small fan, is connected to a bigger fan and the air current it squeezed and amplified making the small one spin faster,…

  22. Can someone give a meaningful explanation that the relative speed of two oppositely directed light beams is why only one light speeds? I understand that based on the Einstein relativity theory, the relative speed of two beams is C, because nothing can be quicker than light speed. However it is not an explanation, because based on Euclidean geometry, their relative velocities should be 2C. It seems a paradox, because the two rules give different result. Is there explanation that resolves this contradiction?

  24. So I have been trying to make sense of what space-time is from a practical point view. I thought of sharing with you some thoughts that came to my mind. 1). The fabric of space must be made out of the smallest wave-like phenomenon. Since this is so tiny, think of it as the smallest particle. These particles (or let's call it a field), fill the entire universe. 2). When we place a heavy particle in this field, the particle would pull this field/the fabric of space (that acts as if it a spring) in every direction towards the particle and that's based on the mass of the particle that we place in this field. This pulling force that exerts on the spring, would depen…

  25. Object of this post is to ask: what are all existing contemporary theories of underlying causes of depression, not limited to 1 field of science?! I Am looking especially for these, which are currently accepted in scientific circles. So far I found 2 theories. It is important to state that I Am not some anti-medication whacko, I wrote description of theories, so I had to include my claims and sources . I Am currently pressed by time: I can include more sources later, links below contain hundreds of references enjoy! Probably most known - Chemical imbalance theory, which was never accepted in Psychiatric circles in the first place! And is nothing, bu…
