Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

“Ground” (GND) is such an enormously confusing term on the field of electricity, so that if one doesn’t go back to the basics, the confusion can become only worse. First, I want to say that the word “ground” is absolutely not well-chosen word for what it should represent in the field of electricity. Much more appropriate is the German word “Masse” (which means “mass”). To the word “mass” for a better understanding I would add electrically conductive mass. With this I don’t want to say that the confusion in the German literature is lesser, but only that this word is more luckily chosen one. Here I will compare the electric current through a metal wire with …

  3. A considerable amount of current can flow in an open circuit under certain conditions. I will present you a very simple experiment which undoubtedly proves that. But before that, let me give you a little introduction. Electricity is a fluid. Just as the water and the air can flow through pipes, so the electricity can flow through metal wires or other electrically conductive things. However, water and air are material fluids, whereas electricity is an immaterial fluid. Water is dense, air is less dense than water and the electricity is the least dense, actually it crosses the border of materiality and goes in immateriality. I will give you further down an example on t…

I recently had cause to look up the definition of supernova, and can only conclude that it is just plain wrong. I can understand early astronomers thinking that stars explode (there was literally nothing else to think) but once the existence of black holes was established, surely a rethink was required. Take a step back, from what you think you know about cosmology, and have another look, considering this: The greater universe is littered with vast bright objects emitting eternal light and vast dark objects absorbing it - anyone with any imagination, at all, ought to wonder, "is this some sort of cycle?" St…

  6. It is my opinion (SPECULATION ) that the electromagnetic fields that permeate the whole of the universe at both the macro and micro levels were around at the same time as the many many big bangs and big crunches that happen in the universe all the time.I speculate that BB and BC’s can’t happen without these electromagnetic fields. Why do scientists guess that these electromagnetic fields came after an assumed single big bang? Mainstream scientific observations are now providing firm evidence that the universe is not expanding uniformly and so the single Big Bang theory is now being put into question. What about the gravity theory then….uummm…it would be good if scientist kn…

  7. Recently learned of NASA's Eagleworks laboratory which is conducting advanced propulsion research. A waste of taxpayer money? Not in my view; we need more of this kind of research. https://ntrs.nasa.gov/citations/20110023492 ABSTRACT NASA/JSC is implementing an advanced propulsion physics laboratory, informally known as "Eagleworks", to pursue propulsion technologies necessary to enable human exploration of the solar system over the next 50 years, and enabling interstellar spaceflight by the end of the century. This work directly supports the "Breakthrough Propulsion" objectives detailed in the NASA OCT TA02 In-space Propulsion Roadmap, and aligns with t…

  8. I'm going to try and be as respectful and informative as possible. First things first, light travels no matter where it is unless it is completely absorbed, or under the affects of a black hole, it will remain traveling. How do you think we see the sun and other stars like it in space? If light doesn't exist in space then we would see total darkness, as this is the absence of light. Light and Gravity the same thing? No not even close, as a mater of fact gravity doesn't move. And its not a force so many people think it is, and its much more complex than you might think. I suggest you read Albert Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity, General Theory of Relativi…

  10. I have heard recognized physicists stating "Nothing can come from nothing" and if this is accepted as a postulate applying basic logic follows: As something do exist now (for instance we exist) it can be deduced that: _ The absolute nothing never existed. (If it it would have existed before nothing would have come up.) _ Something always has existed. Am I wrong in something? I think this is important in the tries to explain the origins of the Universe. The Universe didn't come from nothing then, it came from something. Something that could have always existed before. Not so easy to grasp may be but seems right... And if the above …

  11. The orbital electron is possibly simply an unfortunate historical aberration stemming from the 1913 Bohr model of a positively charged nucleus holding negatively charged electrons in orbit. The comforting features of the Bohr model, particularly in the early 1900’s, were its simplicity and similarity to our own planetary system, with a Sun being the equivalent of a nucleus and the orbiting planets the electrons. The main difference, apart from size and scale, is that the planets are held in orbits by gravitational pull whereas electrons are allegedly by opposite electric charge attraction; and there is the slight problem that the mutual repulsion between protons within th…

  12. Can scientist please explain why they are using incorrect foundational data for their studies. Scientist claim that the 2 off magnetic forces in nature are the same. They are not, so why do they claim that they are and base all their studies on this false claim? The present scientific model is based upon this false foundational assumption.

  13. After reading @Moontanmans post about the alien documentary "The Phenomenon" which I believe was from another thread it got me thinking. If a complex alien life did exist, why would they not interact with us? What reasoning would they have to not say "hey, here we are. We exist." And I believe that a potential idea is that of for scientific analysis and discovery. When humans who have more advanced understandings of things discover and interact with humans who, in many cases, have less formalized structures they tend to do so from a distance. Not directly interacting in order to obtain more knowledge from a non-interactive stance which could influence the behaviors …

They should have pretty good access to equipment for tracking ufos, right ? Hope they release more videos from the ISS and past missions. Together with the military and their sophisticated tracking and imaging satellites by radar and optics... If an UFO shows up at a certain location, can it be followed until reaches its destination with all that equipment hanging in orbits ? Would it make sense if they ever say "we lost its position" ? 🤥 Unsure if links did not stick or is it against rules to add video links here. 15. Started by lidal,

It is a basic requirement of special relativity theory (SRT) that all relatively moving inertial observers agree on an observable (interference fringe shift, for example). It is shown that SRT trivially leads to a disagreement on the observables ( interference fringe shift) in two relatively moving inertial reference frames. Suppose that the interference fringe shift of a light speed experiment predicted in frame S is N, and the fringe shift predicted in frame S’ for the same experiment is N’. It is a requirement of relativity theory that there should be an agreement on the observable (the fringe shift) in both frames, i.e. N = N’. Let us see if this is actually t…

  16. Yes, he has a good point. At the time that Darwin discovered those finches, they thought that a cell was just an empty space that made up a body, not the complex mechanism we know it is today. May I also add that the beaks had differences of less than a centimeter, only about 18.92 millimeters. Earnst Haekel's embryo evolution was a fraud. He just drew the pictures without evidence, and they're not even accurate. They don't show real pictures, that's because there are no pictures, it can't be proven, but still it's shown in science textbooks. They even know they're wrong, but they still do. Then there's Nebraska man. A whole in-between species made up because…

  17. Earth is said to be a sphere with a circumference of 25,000 miles, or 40,000 km, therefore it has to have a curvature of about 8 inches per mile squared. Can we observe or verify this? We are taught about the ancient observations like a sailing boat going over the horizon and the measurements of Eratosthenes. They are all falsified by our current observations and better understanding of the optical effects of the atmosphere. But how can we really measure the curvature of Earth in the 21st century? FECORE has established the Terrestrial Laser Targeting method, or “TLT method” for short, to measure the geopotential surface of the Earth. Geopotential means the…

  18. From the second Friedmann equation or acceleration equation, [math] \frac{1}{R}(\frac{{{d^2}R}}{{d{t^2}}}) = - (\frac{{4\pi G}}{3})(\rho + 3P)[/math] Since ρ is the mass density in the acceleration equation, the pressure term P has a dimension of energy density (c=1). Current acceleration equation inevitably require negative mass density. Without negative (gravitational) mass density, it is impossible to create acceleration expansion. The mainstream produces acceleration expansion by setting the pressure of the cosmological constant or vacuum energy to P=−ρ . Currently, dark energy is described as a being that exerts a negative pressure while having a posi…

"There is a connection between physics and complex calculus, provided by harmonic functions in two-dimensional problems." Can you explain that: harmonic functions, a la on the unit sphere, with real clear triangles? @joigus, Hello, good day, What if the Riemann zeta function has primes distributed with (1/2) real part because of the way i is being used as a 'spanner' in the works? As a placeholder it's made complex numbers a sort of math that can hold with limiting the nature of the imaginary component; or is it a component inseperable from an extra dimension like time, and so splits from the real number line for its expression? If complex math us…

  20. The LINE Scenario: A Thought Experiment; Earth is gone. Complements of some natural occurrence, you name it. Perhaps a primordial black hole or giant rogue planet that happens to be passing through this solar system which sends the Earth into direct collision with Jupiter. Or perhaps there is an immense solar flare that perturbs Earths' orbit, sending our magnificent crucible for life careening into the sun. Result? All that you, and I, and your pet otter were, every cell and every DNA molecule, every atom that was on, or in the Earth, is now ionized nuclear fuel within the sun. The Darwinian evolved chemistry and biology that many fall back upon to describe life…

I've been keeping my work as short and sweet as possible, so sorry if my work seems to gloss over at times. I begin with a relationship I noticed that would hold in theory: $G\cdot\rho = \Box^2 \phi$ The proceedings idea is very simple, we replace the appropriate terms in the Friedmann equation for Cosmic Evolution $(\frac{\dot{R}}{R})^2\ \psi = \frac{8\pi G}{3} \rho\ \psi$ $\frac{8\pi}{3} \Box^2\ \psi= \mathbf{k}(\frac{\partial \psi}{\partial t} - \frac{\partial \psi}{\partial x} + \frac{\partial \psi}{\partial y} + \frac{\partial \psi}{\partial z})$ With c=1 in natural units with metric signature of (-,+,+,+). The other issue…

  23. The source of dark energy is gravitational self-energy. 1. The need for negative energy density 1) Negative energy (mass) density in standard cosmology From the second Friedmann equation or acceleration equation, In standard cosmology, it is explained by introducing an entity that has a positive mass density but exerts a negative pressure. ρΛ + 3PΛ = ρΛ+3(-ρΛ) =- 2ρΛ However, If we rearrange the dark energy term, the final result is a negative mass density of - 2ρΛ . There are too many people who have an aversion to negative energy (mass). However, in the standard cosmology, accelerated expansion is impossible without negative mass density. It …

  25. So, I'm not saying that I have some miracle working thing that will bring you up five cup sizes, but I have had a female friend test this for me over the course of one month and grew a whole cup size. With that being said, what on God's green earth is going on here? Is it prolactin? Is it the fascia tissue being expanded? I cannot figure it out, but what I do know for certain is that it in fact works. Help me out here please.
