Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  2. Started by 36grit,

I was "relegoing" the model in my head, stitching together new information with old and came up with this: I learned a long tome ago that it is accepted that the electromagnetic scale is infinte in both directions. And now I know that the space and time can expand and contract at infinite rates and that this is relative to a local perspective. Now, if we throw into the mix that many now believe that black holes have a singularity as a core. I can imagine that some of these singularities could be as vast and as limitless as our own universe. Well, I got to thinking that if this is true than a big bang scenario must fit nice and neatly into the realms of possibility t…

Is there something to the possibility that the meteor could have been shot down, they have to look at all the evidence and get to the bottom of it, there's lots of photographic evidence and eye witnesses so the task can't be that difficult. http://beforeitsnews.com/paranormal/2013/02/which-russian-meteor-conspiracy-theory-sounds-best-to-you-

Could it be possible that the subconscious, is evidence of us having limited access to our brain? Could the brain possibly store more information than we are aware? I kinda feel like this question has already been proposed and some psychologist has already shown the brain stores more information than our consciousness allows us access to but yeah, any thoughts on this?

  5. The universe is relative to thinking, and relative too who tells the best story, and is the most convincing with their logic. Time and velocity is relative to size of mass, and distance is relative to time. We are lead to believe that gravity exists, although no one can explain why it exists. To make a sphere to spin and rotate there as to be external kinetic energy to start that spin and put force into that spin. The only force in the universe, that can appear and disappear, and have the centripetal force to push mass together is a black hole. A test with a sphere spun at high speeds shows that centripetal force turns that sphere into an obl…

  6. I have been trying to get this out to people for many years via 'normal' channels, but i don't personally know any cosmologists. I know astronomers, and they have told me the theory is valid and potentially significant, but they were working in planetary, solar, and plasma science, so they weren't able to advise me further. They encouraged me to find someone in cosmology or theoretical mathematics, but that was harder than i realized. And now, since there are so many people with interesting theories, mine is just one of many. At least on this forum, there's a bunch of people who may have time to view it. So, here i am. This theory reduces the dimensions down to a ba…

  7. Started by Popcorn Sutton,

Hey people, I just want to let you know something before you get too carried away with the python english interlanguage equation I provided in the thread "the repelsion theory of reduction". The interlanguage solution I provided is wrong. I learned that as soon as I tried implementing sound to the system. It's highly inefficient, but may be useful in other areas. The actual equation has to do with the impact of the environmental pressure fluctuations at the sensory systems. The poi finder is inefficient for large amounts of data but may work for minimal elements. The actual process, at the maximal level of observation, involves the poi and the npoi (next point of inte…

  8. Started by Consistency,

The so called scientific evidence is just as bad as reading the bible. DNA = Blueprint. So.. when you can create DNA from non-biological molecules is when you have actual evidence on evolution and how it actually functions. You have nothing just like religions have nothing.

  11. The whole story of relativity begins with a paradox on the speed of light: relative to what is the speed of light constant? Einstein correctly solved this postulate by his light postulate: the speed of light must be the same to all observers. However, the light postulate provokes another immediate question: how can two observers in relative motion measure the same speed of the same light beam? At his point, Einstein made a huge stride: space and time must be relative. And an even more radical proposition: not only space and time but also mass must be relative. Now it is this huge 'jump' that was unnecessary. This radical proposition has cre…

  12. Hello, I'm wondering if it can be demonstrated mathematically that the speed of light is caused by negative feedback in spacetime as a regulatory-feedback system. While no one to my knowledge has ever put it in those words before, Einstein appears to have have demonstrated this extremely well with General Relativity, relativistic mass, the Twin Paradox & more. I just don't know how to demonstrate that AB < 0, as well as the percentage of feedback. The speed of light is ultimately determined by the Lorentz Factor, which shows that the relative velocity between two observers is regulated via constancy in the frame of reference dt. This equation is as follows: …

  13. Back again after discovering the wonderful text The Genesis of General Relativity. Nordstroem's theory of gravity was the last scalar field theory of gravity that was a challenge to GR. Once the bending of light was verified it was mainly forgotten except as a teaching tool for General Relativity. What is fascinating about it is that the scalar fields have a tensor equivalent of [math]R=\kappa T[/math]. According to http://www.pitt.edu/~jdnorton/papers/einstein-nordstroem-HGR3.pdf the regular Newtonian scalar function [math]\Phi[/math] was used originally within a Laplacian and then with the D'Alembertian as it was a simple logical choice (Einstein had also att…

Since the early 1900’s ALL “science” has been taken over by the Technology Culture of the religious Americans, represented by the trade-union-church AAAS. Plain and simple. There has not been any science in the world since then except “religious-American-science”. On the blissful religious science ignorance…: USA-World Science Hegemony Is Science Blind Since the early 2000s I have been posting many articles on science items surveyed and analyzed by me, without religious background-concepts. I have been doing this because I was deeply disturbed by the religiosity of the 1848-founded AAAS trade-union and by the consequent religious background-tint of its extensive “s…

Has anyone ever actually seen an atom? The electron microscope is as close as anyone has gotten to my knowledge, and it operates on a theory that doesn't actually give an image, but recreates an image from electron path deflections. Using one of these to magnify an atom gives you an image of a fuzzy dot. The Discovery Channel show that I watched on this went into all kinds of detail about how the fuzzy edges of the image are "consistent with" the traditional model of the atom, that the orbiting electron "cloud" would move in a way that would make the edges of the image of an atom appear fuzzy in exactly that manner. This sounds to me like self-fulfilling prophecy.…

Colliding positrons to protons at the highest speed of the proton to produce a positive energy core. Energy core should produce unlimited amount of positrons. Neutral Between Antimatter and Matter Send 8 anti neutrons at the speed of light toward a neutron that is in a spherical magnetic particle magnetic stasis field. Then send 24 anti protons at the anti neutrons and 6 protons at the neutron. Now you have what can make an indestructible material completely made of nuclei. Add 24 pos…

  18. Life in Earth is by Moon and 3 articles more over Moon and Earth Life in Earth is by Moon Many astronomers and biologist say that live is according to habitable zone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habitable_zone) , not very near from the star and not very far from star in the ice zone to admit water in liquid form and temperatures not many lows. But according to this Venus, Moon and Mars at least are into this zone … with different gravities but admit life but without water at all. Earth only has an unique object, this is Moon, Earth is not so special, without water it would be very easy to Mars. But Moon provide many things to Earth: 1 – tid…

Global warming is caused by the earth's orbit around the sun destabilizing. People take the earth’s magnetic field for granted, because it can't be detected by our five senses (sight, sound, taste, smell, feel, etc). It can only be detected by the knowledge that magnetic fields exist, or a magnetometer, or a compass. The earth’s magnetic, and gravitational fields protects all life on the surface of this planet from the sun by holding the earth in a stable orbit around the sun, and holds the moon in a stable around the earth. It protect life on this planet from deadly high velocity solar winds. The earth's magnetic, and gravitational fields also protect life from the harshn…

Discuss any alternate theories to any role dark matter is theorized to be responsible in this universe. There's another possible explanation for the missing gravity besides dark matter is the fact that the magnetic field of the galaxy has been mapped and the galaxy resembles a low height large diameter cylindrical magnet with the super massive black hole at the center of the galaxy setting up the entire magnetic of the galaxy. This binds together all celestial objects with magnetic fields together in the galaxy, and this could account for the missing gravity. Here's a magnetic field map of the Galaxy http://www.nrl.navy.mil/media/news-releases/2012/…

Question 1: If the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate wouldn't that mean that times is changing at the same rate of acceleration? Question 2: How do we know that universal expansion isn't a thermal event? I am assuming here that unless something acts to interfere something hot should move toward something cold. I am also assuming that the greater the difference, the greater the acceleration. That though gravity or some other force insists that an object move in one direction, thermal difference may effect to change that direction, and might actually contribute to an increase in acceleration. If you apply this thought to a solar system an increase in acceler…
