Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

I read somewhere that protons are made up of eight quarks. So, now I'm wondering what are quarks made of? Is it probable that we'll discover something that was made from nothing at all? What will the math look like? 0x0=0 but 0+0=2 zeros? How many layers of infinite zeros does it take to equal a single instant of time? What kind of energy could exist where there is no state of reality? that is to say: Zero length, width, depth, and zero time? The energy of infinite nothing? If we say, "Everything came from one big nothing". Then nothing must be at least somthing and there was one of them. if nothing is nothing and one of them is something then there are tw…

  2. What studies have been done on this? I have heard that people who have blue eyes are smartest when compared to people who have other coloured eyes. Are there physiological benefits to being a particular race for every race? For example, Africans having higher muscle density than non-Africans and Africans generally having high melanin concentration in the skin. etc. Are some races more intelligent than other races or are we all roughly equal/the same? Are the differences negligible or worth looking into?

  3. Some kind of exotic repulsive force in the form of vacuum energy is supposed to be responsible for acceleration of expansion of the Universe which started about 7 Gyr. ago. If suppose the expansion of space obey to Fibbonaci Number Law it can explain this acceleration. See picture remembering Big Bang.

so, i have a question... lately, like over the last year or so, ive been getting increasingly more 'aware' of ourselves and surroundings. im coming up with more and more ideas of things and expressing them to my friends. they think im crazy, im getting to the point where i think im going crazy. they think its just me, but i know that the ideas im getting arent intentional, its like, i just cant stop thinking about this stuff. so i came here to look for answers. basically, to start with ill just post what i wrote last night out of nowhere. im looking for some clarification. weather to be proved right or wrong, i just need answers to determine if im going mad. thn…

Introduction My idea has its origin from the need to exclude the existence of other Universes or some "Creator" or "singularity" from the description of the birth of our Universe. “Everything must start from nothing” otherwise, we would have to assume that something exists outside of our Universe. Actually I believe in God, but I think, also, that He has done everything from nothing. In attachment it is shown an attempt to explain some aspects of our Universe using only the void. Without moving the origin of everything to other reality "completely" inaccessible to us, as singularity, multi-universes, something outside of our universe, from…

  7. I am tired of seeing physicist, cosmologist, theoretician and others trying in a desperate way to find answer to questions they don t seem to possess the ability or capicity to answer to. Dark matter, dark energy, black holes, wave-particle duality, 11 dimensions, multiverse, strings, higgs boson, higgs field, are all terms used to describe one thing, ignorance. I am sick of lies, I decided to find out the truth all by myself, since nobody else seems to be even close to understanding and finding what it is. The truth of our universe and the way it works was bogging my mind when i was listening to some lies over lies to cover up the first lies about lies. I discovered the …

Dear CherryTarantino, The conclusion about dark energy was done mainly by interpreting supernovae observations of supernovae. However the supernovae observations can be explained without accelerated expansion/dark energy. I invite you to read my paper "Tired Light and Type Ia Supernovae Observations" http://vixra.org/pdf/1203.0062v5.pdf If you have any questions, please let me know. Best Regards, Herman

In the center of the universe is ONE black hole where gravitational waves span out from. These gravitational waves affect the direction of and speed of light; causing light (and matter) to accelerate away from the center. The outer boundary of space is the Earth surface; the outer boundary of the entire system is the Earth's Core; like a molten shell. Contrary to the current model, the surface of the Earth is concave, encasing the entire cosmos into the same volume value as the Earth in the current model; 260 billion cubic miles. The rotation of this universe, as evident by the magnetic field of the Earth, forces matter towards Earth; which gives us all of our liquid wat…

i don't know if this starchild skull is news worthy to anybody that hasn't read about it. if you haven't i urge you to go check it out. after you do and you think there might be reason to do more research on it please go to wh.gov/VzQA for a petition for such studies. i have read and agree it should be studied more even if only to study it for future health and medical research. i hope i'm not breaking any rules for this but i can't understand why getting funding or testing done on this is harder than getting it for a study on colors and how they make one feel. really, i find it fascinating, as well as all the nice names and pleasant responses i receive whenever i bri…

Most mainstream science assumes that dinosaurs had an Encephalization Quotient that was far too low to have allowed intelligence on a hominid level. How ever recent work with birds has reveled that mammal EQ ratios do not apply to birds. The brains of birds would seem to operate differently than mammals with smaller brains allowing complex behaviors. Birds being dinosaurs is accepted as mainstream science so the next question is could intelligent dinosaurs have existed? Many might say immediately that we would have seen the fossils by now but to be fossilized is such a rare event that we know that only a tiny fraction of extinct animals ever fossilize. So could w…

    Why has a Newtonian model for fundamental particle masses not been considered? Electroweak gravitation model of an electron: Gravitational force is equal to the electroweak nuclear force: [math]F_g = F_w[/math] Integration via substitution: [math]\frac{G m_{\beta}^2}{r^2} = \frac{\hbar c \alpha_{w}}{r^2}[/math] Electroweak gravitation strength of interaction: [math] \alpha_{w} = \frac{G m_{\beta}^2}{\hbar c} = 1.751 \cdot 10^{-45}[/math] [math]\boxed{\alpha_{w} = 1.751 \cdot 10^{-45}}[/math] Electron mass: [math]\boxed{m_{\beta} = \sqrt{\frac{\hbar c \alpha_{w}}{G}}}[/math] On a fundamental scale, such an interaction could be represented a…

So basically 20+ particles of Standard Model are two base particles, but different configurations.

If an object is stationary in space and it sees another object coming towards it at half the speed of light then you could just as easily say that it's moving towards the other object at half the speed of light and the other object is stationary. There is no distinction between which one is moving. The only statement you can make is that they moving towards each other at half the speed of light. All the laws of physics remain the same in any inertial frame, meaning all frames are equal and no frame can be said to be unique in any way. Having said that, you could use the cosmic background radiation as a frame of reference for all others, but you could do that with any fram…

The universe is a fascinating place. Physics has spent thousands of years trying to piece together its story, learn its intricacies, and discover its secrets. We have found stars, planets, and whole host of other galactic fancies. If we are to ever get anywhere in space, we are going to need to be able to achieve massive speeds - close on light speed. We'll need these incredible velocities because of the distances involved (it would take us something near to 20 years just to reach pluto). But The Theory of Relativity states that an objects mass increases as its velocity does; "An object that has a mass cannot travel at the speed of light. "As the object approac…

  19. I've just started working on the determination of what cavemen knew and when they knew it. I already was able to deduce most of the metaphysics from a literal understanding of the sole piece of writing that survives in the ancient language, the Pyramid Texts. Now I've begun trying to decipher and deduce the science itself. The educated caveman would have known the nature of gravity, sizes of the earth and moon, orbits (probably non-mathematically), and might have had a wildly inaccurate idea of the speed of light. The typical caveman would maker fewer false statements about nature than the average college graduate. Of course they knew a great deal more than this a…

  21. while trying to fall asleep and thinking about epigenetics it occurs to me that current theories seem to suggest that epigenetic changes--sort of the master gene controller which turns various genes on and off, discontinues using "out dated" genes all together etc--would be perfectly suited to handle gradually occuring long-term and even extreme infrequent short-term changes in the environment without the need for any major base pair mutations, hence little or no changes to the genetic code over even a very long time i.e., the T-Rex basically unchanged for almost 20 millions years (granted fossil remains leave us only to speculate on changes to brain function, endocrin fu…

To create energy all you have to do is heat up any material that is solid. You can also mix energy creating a different energy. All you do example put a block of stone on top a different types of stone. Then heat it from the bottom, that heat will then froce some of the particles or electrons from the first block to the top and the same time the heat is also forcing the particles from the second stone to come up. Then there it creates a energy force.

  23. http://www.livescience.com/10531-life-began-research-suggests-simple-approach.html So i've reiterated this quite a bit on SF, pretty sure even made a thread awhile back on how I beleive life is only highley evolved energy, everything evolves, and evolution is the answer to life. From elements being created by fission in the belly of a star to hot metal smoldering rocks excreting gasses creating a atmosphere. Things in the universe change, energy changes, it becomes more complex, it evolves. I honestly think that if not in my lifetime, within the next hundred years we will find the right circumstances to harbor the beggining of life as we know it whether it be…

For NASA people if not have been done. Space suits and space craft can be made without the protection, we will also be able to breath in space without the helmet. How to create this force fields is only found in the core of our planet and also the mix of other layers of the planet . To my understanding the earth has a force field and this ff can be reproduce into a smaller version. This other layers of the planet is what produces the energy and the core is what heats this layers to give out the energy. With this discovery space craft will be able to have gravity inside. Space helmet will not be needed to breath oxygen. We will be able to travel in the speed of…

  25. If Dark Matter exist, many types of interactions might appear. The interactions with neutron star, quark star and Black Hole may be especially high? They have very compact structure. So, no particles can not penetrate into them easily. If we did not find any interactions from these objects, could we have confidence with Dark Matter existence?
