Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

If there's a Planck Length, then wouldn't it stand to reason that there would also be a Planck Volume? Now, if space was composed of these Planck Volumes there would be small units of space between these tiny spheres of undefinable space. Little tetrahedrons of space. So if these volumes are actually not definable, then wouldn't the space between them also be undefinable? The difference being that the Planck Length has a maximum, but no minimum, and the space between has a minimum, but no maximum, so the space between would just continue to expand. Which part of this model do you think we exist in? The 3 dimensional, fractal expansion?

  2. So we know that obliques are bending the space-time. But I have got an idea that the obliques doesnt bending the space-time, they are pulling the space-time to theirselves. Or we can explain that space-time is like iron and obliques are magnet. So if any obliques pulling fabric of space-time and cover theirselves with fabric of space-time, it will become parallel universe. I know this is madness but without any reasons I wanted to share this there. I dont have any scientific facts to prove it. Think it like a just an idea. I hope I can tell my idea with my not bad english. If I have any wrongs in grammar sorry.

  4. If we see the Universe’s rate of expansion as accelerating, it’s probably due to relativistic dilation due to apparent velocity. If we were able to approach lightspeed, time would “slow” down. So for every second that passes from that perspective, more time would pass for everyone else.So say we were moving at ~86% the speed of light, the relativistic dilation of time at that velocity would be ~50% of what others would experience. One second from both perspectives would be one second, but our seconds would be two seconds for everyone else. From our view, things would appear to be in fast forward … like people would move faster, the days would be half as long, as wou…

  5. Lu Shan March, 2017 Today, I want to discuss about the nature of time and the essence of relativity in a written form. First, let’s discuss the issue of where time comes from. The whole process that time came into being is that clock always vibrates, driving the clock dial hand to move evenly, rhythmically and ceaselessly. So time passes evenly relative to clock. Every time the clock moves once, the second hand on the clock dial advances one grid with one value added accordingly. For instance, if the second hand advances one grid, we call it a second. If the second hand moves one round with sixty grids, then the minute hand moves one grid, i.e. a minute. Similarly,…

  6. Any moderately intelligent person is fully aware of the tactic of attempting to silence an opponent because of an inability to defend a position. What you all should be wondering is why this tactic even exists in science. One can understand why you can't go into a Baptist church and state Jesus didn't exist, but it doesn't make sense within the context of what science is supposed to be that a faith based idea (the universe is not an intelligent design because no sentient intelligence exists) with no logical scientifically accepted way to prove it is used as a litmus test for what is defined as science. That is religion my friends. The existence or non existence of a creato…

  7. what I am going to attempt to do is explain the Duality properties of light within the context of classic Newtonian Physics. While this new idea is certainly not well known to mainstream science, it does meet the criteria for a legitimate hypothesis , and it is not mere speculation because this new idea comes much closer to explaining the properties of light without defying known conventional physics, creating contradictions in logic or paradoxes, I.E. kinetic energy without mass. As most of us here know I would hope, Kinetic energy is a property of a mass in relative motion to a given point or as we often refer to it, frame of reference. Kinetic energy varies withi…

  8. Hello, I posted previously but wasn't brilliantly prepared... I would like to thank those that fed back last time because it has actually really helped which hopefully you can see here - I would really like feedback and if anyone is able to help with the maths that would be amazing and I hope I've addressed the issues raised in the last post. I have created a dropbox folder of higher resolution graphics which I will paste at the end. It all started when I saw this video: Primes and Twin Primes an awesome journey Carlos was trying to find the millionth prime in an effort to win a prize and was using circles to do it… what he didn’t realise was that it was t…

  9. We see the sphere of the Universe 27.4 billion light years in diameter. If we were to perceive the Universe from the edge of that sphere, we would likely see almost the same exact picture of the cosmos, and the location of the first perception would be at the edge of that sphere. This could continue over and over again, creating an awareness of an infinite Universe. If this is true, then logic also implies that there is more of the Universe that is beyond our ability to observe than is contained within that sphere of observation. There are more points in space that are moving away from us at a speed that exceeds the speed of light than points that do not. This would a…

I have made a video and uploaded it to youtube and was looking for some feedback. Here is the video (deleted) I think this is the proper forum if not I will move it. Any comments or feedback is appreciated. Thanks for watching.

Ladies and gentlemen. What follows DOES NOT represent my views-- but I saw it on another forum and had just never seen anything like it before. Just thought some might be interested in reading it. Here it is: (Author NOT revealed) Do you believe in global warming? Climate change? I used to think it was a complete hoax. Lately I am becoming more convinced it is happening. I used to believe that Man was incapable of having any effect on the environment. I now believe that he or she can cause the weather to change for the better or worse. What does this have to do with deep theological discussion you ask? Let me explain. I still believe that global warming ha…

  13. Ego has no real place in science, neither does belief. Real science does not seek to silence opposing viewpoints by disqualifying them as non mainstream. You could be right if your hypothesis holds water, until someone disproves or falsifies it it is valid as such. I don't agree with your description and basic premise and I can prove to myself and most educated and moderately intelligent individuals that they are incorrect using only facts. The one thing all exceptionally intelligent individuals understand is what we actually know to be true and what we think is true or are accepted as true by even "the mainstream" are not necessarily the same thing , that is referre…

  14. I could have sat here all night responding to the various comments on this thread, but instead I'm going to add my own thoughts which do not relate to anyone elses. Firstly, the "theory of relativity" is a poor label for Einsteins work. At the time it was first called a theory it had never been tested, it was simply announced as such. It is also critical to understand that similar theories existed well before he penned his famous conclusions and he admitted being incapable of supporting it through his own work. It took the input of many individuals who never got a single bit of credit to form the mathematical basis of the theory. Einstein himself accepted a pr…

I’m spanking new here and don’t know exactly where to start, but I’m 83 now and don’t have time to learn anything, so I’ll just leap in by noting beecee’s comment: “that because there are many unqualified people that come to a science forum to tell everyone participating, how mainstream science has got it wrong, and they have the answer!” Well, by gum, I’m undoubtedly one of those, but then I’m a Life Member of Mensa, a member of ISPE, and was once Regent of the Triple Nine Society, so I must be smart . . . I think. Anyway I can’t help responding to alexcouch’s observation “You can't really have nothing, cause if there is nothing, then why is there something within this…

  18. We are all aware that over the last 60-70 years we have been able to survive once life ending infections due to the miracle that we call antibiotics. In Britain (where i am from) what this has achieved is a social care crisis. people living very long lives and needing alot of care with not enough money to pay for this care. Also a housing shortage. Are we right to prolong life before evolution would like us too?. My question is this, some bacteria that would kill one person eg a staph infection can live harmoniously on the skin of another person without concequence. We are all aware that bacteria adapt for survival. Are we preventing currently dangerous bacteria from evol…

  19. Quantum entanglement is explained if we are in a simulation. You see two separated particles even they are billions of ly away still interact with each other faster than the speed of light. Why is this so? It seems that there are invisible wires connecting them. This mystery is explained when we are living in a simulation. Space is only an illusion and actually there is no space which separates those particles. Imagine in a computer screen. If you click something in the right of screen, it will instantly affect something at the left side of screen like the scenario in playing games.

  20. To begin this page here is a quote from an article on Wikipedia I was reading a moment ago: "Magnetic pressure is an energy density associated with a magnetic field. Any magnetic field has an associated magnetic pressure contained by the boundary conditions on the field. It is identical to any other physical pressure except that it is carried by the magnetic field rather than (in the case of a gas) by the kinetic energy of gas molecules. A gradient in field strength causes a force due to the magnetic pressure gradient called the magnetic pressure force." So in magnetic pressure being identical to physical pressure except in being carried by a magnetic field rather than th…

My Kepler Bb humanoids have a digestive system that is similar to ours but also in 2 anatomical ways, different. The 1 anatomical difference that gives these humanoids more energy is, wait for it, their appendix. Now this is a normal human appendix, only a few inches long. But a Kepler Bb humanoid's appendix is at least 3 times as long. With this added length, more good bacteria can be safely tucked away when the humanoid is ill and cellulose can be digested into simple sugars and absorbed into the bloodstream. This coupled with an overall higher BMR(basal metabolic rate) means that they get more energy from the same kinds of food than we do, particularly f…

  22. http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?paperID=64084 The basic premise of this article is that human generated electromagnetic radiation is contributing to global warming. It may do so by diverting an energy force termed KELEA (kinetic energy limiting electrostatic attraction) from its presumed association with cosmic rays. Cosmic ray delivered KELEA is viewed as normally participating in the formation of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN). It may do so by transforming electrostatically inert particles into electrostatic aerosols capable of acting as CCN. The resulting clouds act as a reflective …

The Electric and Magnetic Forces are undoubtedly “action at a distance” forces what cannot be denied. This means that a “Physics System” would exist “running” the Physics Laws on the elementary particles. This leaves us to think in a mathematically based Universe that would “run” in some kind of “Universal Supra-computer”. There's no other way possible! The proof of the existence of a deistic "God" follows quite obviously: Some kind of "Superior Intelligence" must have 1) built the “Universal Supra-computer” machine, 2) programmed the Physics Laws in the machine and 3) setted the numerical values of the parameters of the Physics Laws. That "Superior Intelligence…
