Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Horses make it less costly to move resources from point A to point B. The same is true of our ancestors walking upright. As the cost of allocation decreased the frequency increased. More frequent allocation meant more frequent allocation problems. When monkeys, lions, whales and birds migrate they generally don't have to worry about what they'll take with them. It was a different story with our ancestors. They were able to carry many resources at the same time so they were forced to figure out what to take. Our ancestors needed weapons for defense and for hunting. If they carried too few weapons then they might be killed by wild animals or other groups. But…

Spin, momentum and wavelength are (measured) properties of energy. And a photon is always on the move, it only has kinetic energy. You can define energy as the ability to do work (it depends on your interpretation). The ability to do work is stored force. When you excite an atomic electron to a higher energy state, you then increase the stored force (F). F=ma and according to mass-energy equivalence: F=(E/c²)a. By increasing the stored force in an electron, you cause some of it's energy to be accelerated(F=(E/c²)a) which forms a photon. Gluons and photons (massless particles) are imo just energy. A gluon is an elementary particle that acts as the exchange part…

This is the second post I would like some comment on if you guys wouldn't mind. Dark Matter In QM, gravity is considered a force, the graviton being the force carrier. In GR, gravity is represented as a geometric curvature of spacetime created by mass. When we have (spacetime) expansion and we have (spacetime) curvature, it is hard not to imagine waves. Gravity waves were predicted by Einstein and recently observed emanating from neutron stars. “Gravitational waves are ripples in the curvature of spacetime that are generated in certain gravitational interactions and propagate as waves outward from their source at the speed of light. In Einstein's theory of genera…

Abstract I explore the anticommutating spacetime relation in context of gravity by seeing commutation happen in two connections of the gravitational field, one concerned with space, the other time. We learn nothing revolutionary this time around, but we do explore it in a finite dimensional, Hilbert space-context. I do offer though, in a new context, an equation proposed by Anandan, which can describe the difference of geometries directly related to the [math]L^2[/math] space we explore as a Cauchy Schwarz spacetime. My ultimate hope is that it will catch on that the latter gives a natural mechanism for fluctuations in spacetime, as we relate fluctuations to t…

I'll be closing my studies on gravity in the Hilbert space soon now. I will finalise a more comprehensible paper from it as well, but i wanted to reserve for this post, the most interesting conclusions I made. There were many things I found while investigating this model, but the following will only be concerned with the dynamics of [math]L^2[/math] Cauchy-Schwarz space and the Hilbert space formalism. The ultimate goal was to find a Hilbert space theory of gravity which seemed (at least plausible) by linking it dynamically with the Schrodinger evolution. I achieved this but it needs so much more work that (maybe) someone else will take up as I will be going back into cos…

With the assumption of UNDETECTABLE things in a theory any theory could be developed since it could never be proven wrong! This way anyone can invent any theory! To sustain Relativity Theory the concept of UNDETECTABLE "dark matter" was developed but about hundred years have passed without experimental confirmation... To sustain Quantum Physics the concept of UNDETECTABLE "virtual particles" was developed but there's no experimental confirmation on them... Don't you think is time for a totally new theory in Physics? I have a very good start-point for one without any undetectable thing. For those that could be interested I cannot post the link here but it can …

Why have we only 4 DNA Bases on Earth and NOT the theoretical possible 12 DNA Bases???... Life on Earth has only 2 DNA Base pairs... (2 * 2 = 4 Bases) Theoretical there could be 6 DNA Base pairs of pyrimidines and purines!!!... (6 * 2 = 12 Bases) My sugestion is that if Life evolved from only pyrimidines and NOT purines, then they are only 2 DNA Base pairs possible!!! (image)

What is radioactivity? What is (electrical) insulation? (Are they opposites? e.g. oppositely proportional?) Marie & Pierre Curie measured (& compared) the amount "time" in seconds (from a distance) that their (charged) capacitor discharged (e.g. (to) half its voltage). (The sooner their capacitor was discharged, (meant) the more radioactive the location was. =Less (discharging) time meant more radioactivity.) A Geiger_Mueller (GM) tube is something like a piece of coax wire acting …

It’s a new theory which simplifies the understanding of general relativity. The newest Theory of Everything by Dr. Charles Michael Turner. The Expanding N.E.T. Wave theory states that not only did the Big Bang transition the finite singularity to create mass, energy and space, three forms of matter, but each atom is still radiates more space. Space is defined as the gravitational field, continually radiating as a lowest energy field from all mass. It is important to note that low energy gravitational waves radiating from all mass simply follow Newton’s theee laws of motion, like mass. s=ec^3 is the formula linking the standard model and general relativity.…

The amino acid F-Phenylalanine has the same shape like the DNA pyrimidines: Cytocine and Thymine ... The amino acid W-Tryptophane has the same shape like the DNA purines: Guanine and Adenine... So, could there exist - at the START of Life - a molecule of ONE amino-acid and ONE DNA-Base connected together???... (image) (a molecule similar to t-RNA, a t-DNA???...) Then you do NOT need a m-RNA transcription and a r-RNA ribosome translation: The DNA Base converts to the amino-acid and vice versa!!!...

Voltage addition? If 1 (1.5 V) battery of a 3 battery flashlight is wrong (=the opposite (polarity)) (then) the total voltage is zero, not 1.5 V so the lamp (filament) will NOT go on (=won't light) when the switch is closed (=turned on). Kirchhoff's voltage law adds voltage( drop)s on loads, but seems to collapse when dealing with (battery) sources of mixed polarity. (=I find that (unexpectedly) rather (stunningly) peculiar, the math fails!) Can anyone help me to (simply) understand what's happening, (e.g. with like charges repel, unlike attract) why the volt…

Hi everyone, This is my personal hypothesis, and even to me it looks crazy but makes sense, can be tested and is in compliance with results from already conducted experiments. What do you think? Just don't stop reading on the "aether" word --- What if gravity is a push-force applied by the aether to the objects in the universe. That will require the gravitational [aetherial] force to be much stronger than it is believed to be. Imagine the aether as a very dense medium which is everywhere and in everything. (Not dense as a material substance of course.) The dense aether penetrates in (moves through) the matter and loses its force with the amount…

Golden Pi = 3.144605511029693 is the correct value of Pi and this fact can be proven by almost anybody that has sufficient knowledge of the principles of the Kepler right triangle including the creation of a circle with a circumference equal in measure to the perimeter of a square. The correct value of the Golden ratio will determine the correct value of both the square root of the Golden ratio and Pi. Traditional Pi 3.141592653589793 is also false because it is based upon a false value for the Golden ratio for example traditional Pi 3.141592653589793 can also be gained from 4 divided by the square root of 1.621138938277405 = 1.273239544735163. The ratio 1.621138938…

Fusion may occur if you have deuterium (an isotope of hydrogen with 1 proton and 1 neutron atoms colliding at speeds near the speed of light from opposite directions in a cyclotron (a circular particle accelerator). Here are the equations: \[ \text {Kinetic Energy} E_{k1}=\frac {1}{2}mv^2, E_{k2}=\frac{1}{2}mv^2\\ \text {Since the atoms are travelling in opposite directions, total energy} E_T=E_{k1}+E_{k2}\\ =\frac{1}{2}mv^2+\frac{1}{2}mv^2=mv^2.\\ \text{If } v \rightarrow c, \text{then total energy } E=mc^2,\\ \text{which implies that matter is being converted into energy.}\\ \text{Sorry that everything is centered. I couldn't figure out how to end or …

Dark matter is theorized to be the most abundant substance in the universe. If there is no dark matter is relativity wrong? If relativity is wrong what other theories might be valid? I understand various modern theories do not need dark matter to explain the movement of the outer planets, does anyone have a inside view regarding which alternative to relativity is the best option, in the event that dark matter is not detected? This is one link there are hundreds. https://arxiv.org/pdf/1612.03034.pdf

It is argued in this [very] short paper (almost too short to take seriously in a way) an argument that the Newtonian G can be replaced for the Planck length. http://vixra.org/pdf/1710.0315v1.pdf Dimensionally, the equation stands up, what about the physical meaning? This is no less an attempt to quantize G in such a way that it conforms with modern Planck scale physics. Of course, assume we are working in the Planck space, then the curvature also has to satisfy Planckian dynamics. Of course, I have found my own ways to deal with this - the quantum vacuum is about non-commutativity and this can be fully expressible through the spacetime uncertainty relati…

Hello all! Total amateur astrophysics question here, so bear with me. But since I had heard about what's been called "The Great Attractor", I've been unable to shrug off the possibility that the universe may not be in a state of increasingly rapid expansion after all. My idea goes as follows: Because most astrophysicists have observed redshifting light being emitted from the vast majority of distant galaxies, most believe that the universe is in a state of expansion... However, there appears to be a huge fixed point in the observable universe where our local cluster and 'nearby' superclusters are racing towards -known as The Great Attractor... So, cou…

Gravity2.pdf Interested in comments please. Is Gravity Mass induced Time dilation within a quantised space? and not gravity waves but time dilation percussion across the quantised field? What is Gravity? Mass curves Space Time which means Time has to travel a greater distance along the curved space then at flat space. Time always travels at the same speed (always the same from the perspective of the observer). Because space is quantised and there is a greater distance to travel along curved space then flat space, it takes longer for time to travel along the greater distance of curved space which causes time dilation. There is a fixed amount o…

IF gravity is largely resultant from the distortion of virtual particle orbits, then a manipulation of these orbits, singularly or by multiples could have gravitational effects leading to, with precise orbit modifications, generation of a gravitation vector force, directable and controllable. It also seems possible to create "hawking radiation" using the same idea in the lab...these ideas should start off with microscopic size areas being manipulated as each pair will have to be accounted for and biased accordingly with the desired orbit shape within a shielded vacuum.

An interesting thought, since one dimensional motion and two dimensional motion can be represented in three dimensions, can three dimensional motion not be represented in four since a fourth dimensional object is always going to be composed of three dimensional components? An interesting thought is that if we exist in four dimensions is that once we exceed the speed of light time will move backwards, (Because citation counts: according to wikipedia: In 1908, Hermann Minkowski presented a paper consolidating the role of time as the fourth dimension of spacetime, the basis for Einstein's theories of special and general relativity. But the geometry of spacetime, being non-E…

Well, energy is defined as change is space2 per Change in Time2 for a unit of mass which velocity increases mass via relativistic mass at increased rate of travel through space, So it is safe to say that Mass is compressed energy and the increase in velocity somehow increases the amount of energy able to be stored in the mass field due to Time Dilation or Length Contraction probably by increasing the time experience by the particle, so that would mean that Mass is a reaction to time increasing as Space Decreases and since Mass increases as time does we can say that Mass allows time to move more quickly and is somehow more stable with increased time rate and has decreased …

I've been googling this to death and I can't find any info on this so it might be possible it's a new concept. But here goes! What if the status of the cosmos at T=0 was an all encompassing now. Time was just another spatial dimension and time did not pass. At the moment of the Big Bang time symmetry was broken resulting in the release of energy bound up in that static time dimension. This break in symmetry resulted in time as we know it and time's arrow. But, and yeah this is pure speculation, if the expansion of the big bang resulted in two universes expanding in two opposite time dimensional directions? Matter goes in one time direction and antimatt…

Has any research been done, experiment or attempts of any sort to transfer the knowledge and experiences from the brain of a sixties lucid person to a twentiesh year old ? It is usually called teaching, but in a more technological and quick way. Short of implanting a USB socket under the hair... Would such be happening in 100 years from now ? Implications would certainly be impacting.

Bees are probably using a simple algorithm to solve the travelling salesman problem. We know that when bees get back to the hive after discovering a new group of flowers, they do a little dance. The length of the dance represents the distance to the group of flowers, and the direction they are pointing indicates the direction to the group of flowers. The bees could be using a spiral pattern to find the flowers. They would start at the middle group of flowers, and work their way outwards in a spiral pattern. That's just a guess. They could be using some other algorithm.

Gravitons are the theoretical particles of gravity that work by exchanging themselves with other masses thereof creating an attraction between masses but lets look deeper on how they could work. 1)gravitons could technically be aligned in a formation we call a field and this field when in contact with a mass exchange and cause the pull basically fussing the idea of a field and a particle 2)if gravitons do exist it could be possible to isolate a mass form the formation of gravitons of earth or other celestial objects, then therefore causing new space tech and conventional labour tech 3)maybe gravitons are connections of energy between matter therefore making…
