Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  1. Interesting the use of a prism, let me tell you a story. if all things are created naturally then it stands to reason that all elements are crystals with their own designs. it is this shape in the crystalline structure a natural process that can refract energy that is everywhere around us but yet to be proven. the energy comes from a place outside our universe it is a constant supply and will be for what is considered an infinite amount of time. The crystalline structures are stimulated into a symmetrical shape so fast that the refractions land into the middle of this action creating what is called neutron. the proton are really just tips of a stimulated crystal as…

All physics equations are essentially functions. All functions extend infinitely. In the case of E=MC squared because mass and energy is conserved the function on the graph cannot extend forever it will come to an abrupt halt in converting mass into energy. The term terminal velocity describes why nothing can accelerate forever. The velocity of the object or particle will render the function finite. In the case of relativity which states an object with mass would require an infinite amount of inertial mass and kinetic energy as it approaches infinitely closer to the speed of light. Due to terminal velocity that function which extends infinitely on a graph will end s…

  3. I think all the information is already there. No one has been able to put all the pieces together. If you merge a new interpretation of String Theory with QM and Relativity, you can explain things. String theory proves that the universe exists in more than 4 dimensions. Relativity shows us that the universe works in a fluidic manner. If you assume that the extra dimensions of string theory is the missing fluid fabric of the universe, and the curled up dimensions are the molecules of the fluid, you explain a lot. With this concept quantum particles are in fact both particles and waves. They are waves in the extra dimensions. At the points where the wave reaches a r…

High energy state volumes such as the Sun transfers the volumes high energy to lower energy state volumes in transition . A volume of absolute space would effectively have E=0 and as a consequence of this , the maximum potential to gain energy as in accordance with thermodynamics , ''cold things reach room temperature'' . It is my belief that high energy is attracted to lower energy states , the force I assume is a gravitational transition ? >E attracted to <E volumes ? Force gravity = <E ? Thank you for your consideration and answers in advance .

  5. Photoelectric effect doesn't work here. So do photons of radio waves (and lower frequencies) really exist? In many high voltage applications, corona is an unwanted side effect. Corona discharge from high voltage electric power transmission lines constitutes an economically significant waste of energy for utilities. In high voltage equipment like Cathode Ray Tube televisions, radio transmitters, X-ray machines, and particle accelerators the current leakage caused by coronas can constitute an unwanted load on the circuit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corona_discharge

  6. I have been studying one physics theory for at least 6 years. It seems to answer all questions about the cosmos, much better, ie elegantly, than any of the "official" theories such as Standard Quantum Mechanics. For me it is that sought for Grand Unified Theory, with the caveat that it is the Grand Unified Theory-Classical Physics but predicts all phenomena hundreds of times better than the SQM theory. So my suggestion is to include this theory in the list until there is enough information to either fully accept it for replacing SQM or show what is specifically wrong with this theory.

  7. About the youtube video, the huge problem with this argument Neil... The evidence for "UFO"'s in 2017 is way more Than eye witness testimony. We have hundreds of videos from different people in different locations filming the same event. Study it and quit blowing it off. Maybe it's not aliens, but its definitely very advanced

  8. The number of competing theories has always intrigued me. When I started reading and studying, it always annoyed me to see professionals say, "we don't understand it. We just know that is the way it is." It always seemed like a defeatist attitude. I made it my mission to learn every theory I could and try to piece together the big picture. After twenty years, I have created a picture where the extra dimensions of String Theory explain parts of Relativity. The quirks of Relativity explain the effects of Quantum Mechanics, and more, in an M-Theory style concept. However, I cannot find anyone who is willing to consider such a wide ranging concept. I really want to se…

The picture (my drawing with blue lines) shows a tube that houses a spinning "wheel" driven by an electric motor. On the wheel's surface are shallow mountains, as the close-up shows. RedBarron's experiment a year ago was to show that driving a wheel to high speed draws a normal flat sheet of paper to the tube's entrance. RedBarron's device is similar but not identical to a tesla turbine: A tesla turbine's set of washers with air between each washer, air flowing into the chamber drags the washers, and centrifugal force forces air away from the disc, which gets balanced by a spiralling vortex inward at high speed, and exactly when the outward c…

Build you own Quantum Computer ---- Main goal of this video is to build a cheap and affordable quantum computer I am just reposting this video on scienceforums because of lack of reviews and discussion on youtube , it needs more discussion .... The self-proclaimed quantum computer builder is stuck on one of the main part of building quantum computer and he had already spent 15000 euro at the present moment to build it ... He needs to find a way to change and read their quantum states but the laser setup is very costly ... The rest of the article is for noobies who don't have a clue that whats going on ....... HEllo all I am a student of alternative healing practices. My favourite is the indian system of Ayurveda which was developed by the ancients and has proven to be a very useful supplement to modern medical science. It uses natures processes as the basis for its study. Ayurveda (आयुर्वेद Sanskrit: ayu—life; veda—knowledge of) or ayurvedic medicine is a comprehensive system of medicine, more than 2,000 years old and based on a holistic approach rooted in Vedic culture. I would like you to post your views on the features, merits and demerits of this ancient science. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayurveda PLease read here for more info!! I would appreciate some debate…

This is the way back. It allows you to fall through space time, based on the Minkowski time line it would either get you to the future or the past. You have to bend space time in such a way where it does not fold as the animation says, I am not sure why but either way you can fall through this space time. Assuming your consciousness does not coincide with your previous self it would be a safe trip otherwise meeting the dinosaurs.

  14. So I want to create a device that would emit visible light as a source of electromagnetic radiation. I am thinking of having two electromagnets either attracting or opposing charges that given a strong enough current would generate a strong enough opposing or attracting magnetic field to generate a light source in between. Either that or an antenna that is amped up from radio wave to create visible light waves. Which is more plausible?

  16. Consider the problem of the gravitational field of a point mass, taking into account the mass of the gravitational field itself. First, assume that the mass of the gravitational field is negative and its density is -g^2/c^2. From the Gauss theorem, we write a differential equation for the gravitational field strength. The solution of this equation Otherwise it can be written where radius of Shvartsald if r<R=2Gm/c^2 one can use the asymptotic approximation of Bessel functions then we come to the classical formula of Newton's law of universal gravitation If we assume that the density of the gravitational field is p…

  17. Electric current is an immaterial swirling wind through the electrical conductor. The immaterial magnetic wind through it is also spiral-shaped (i.e., it is not perpendicular to the conductor as the contemporary physics asserts). During the flow of direct current, both winds blow from the plus- to the minus-pole of the battery, the electric wind in counter-clockwise direction, whereas the magnetic wind in clockwise direction. These two fluxes are at angle of 90 degrees. I will introduce a new explanation of the electric current which I call “dynamic” because it speaks of forces (δύναμις = force), in contrast to the contemporary explanation which is materialistic, bec…

  18. There is a concept of "irreducible complexity". Meaning that some biological systems could not be produced by incremental steps. Evolutionists really can't explain an evolution for almost any of internal organs. Go look for yourself. How 2 chamber heart evolves into 3 chamber heart, how lungs evolved, how bactrium evolved a flagellum. This is very simple stuff, and yet evolutionists can't provide an evolutionery path to any of that. And yet they manage to live in small illusion that they got it all figured out. Actually evolutionists have nothing. They can't explain anything really.

  19. If I plug values into a physics engine, would that be enough of a proof of concept? https://forum.unity.com/threads/defying-gravity.858343/ I made something in the unity3D physics engine that shifts it's center of gravity in the positive Y axis at around 600 force units. It would require downloading the engine (version 4.7) and the project file from the forum I posted to view on your computer, of which is asking alot. Its the best I got, I hope it's enough. -DandelionTheory

SeaPower description Attached is a diagram that details a new energy generating power source using the expanding rise of air underwater as a lifting force. This is the same principal that keeps a boat afloat. In the diagram, there is a linear row of balloons. The lower balloon or inverted umbrella; is injected with 300 cubic feet of air compressed to 18 ATM resulting in a volume of 16.66 cubic feet of air. When the first balloon rises 99 feet (3 ATM) a second balloon attached to the first one is injected with 300 cubic feet of air compressed to 16.66 cubic feet of air. In the diagram provided this process is repeated having five (5) balloons risi…

Need some help with this hypothetical. If you added 139,989,929,200,000,000 gallons of water to the ocean how high would the sea level become? If you could explain the math that would be more helpful too. There’s no use in knowing the answer if I can’t do it myself.

  23. Note before reading: this is my first theory, and as such will have a lot of flaws/ doesn't work with laws of physics/ doesn't work at all. So feedback and corrections will be much appreciated! Also I do not know all the theories out there, and this may be similar to a preexisting theory, which is not my intention. So this is a theoretical model of a cycle involving two universes. Imagine a 3D cylindrical infinity symbol, with the middle two lanes(?) connecting. At the center (from a top or bottom angle) of the overlapping lanes is a indefinitely tall line that divides the overlapping part into four sections, each connected to a side. A universe starts in one secti…

  24. Is red shifted light travelling at a speed less than c? Light emitted from a light source moving away from an observer at a speed v would intuitively be expected to be travelling at a speed c – v but is in fact still measured to be moving at a speed of c. The measurement of speed is based on the time interval between the light being emitted and the light being detected at the destination. The difference between light detected from a stationary source and light detected from a receding source is that the latter is red shifted which means that its wavelength has increased and consequently that it is less energetic. But what does that really mean? One can vis…
