Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

I can already feel the blood thirsty stares directed at this thread (and possibly at me too), ever ready to pounce and fire the stockpiles of accumulated arsenals for topics like these. The fact that this is my first post in this forum doesn't help very much, does it? I would like to state that this thread would require a bit of, for the lack of a better term, open-mindedness. Warning: This is going to be a very long starting post, and there are reasons for this. You've been warned! Before I proceed to the main body of the discussion, allow me to state a few qualifiers, and perhaps even set a few parameters for discussion, as a topic such as this can…

Science took a wrong turn. It all took a wrong turn with the missed understanding of the double slit experiment in the 20's. And along with the discovery of the universe is expanding that took everyone away for Einstein's work that was right ON , but no one would pay attention to him any longer. Well with the new MIT very high speed camera I know that the 1920's experiment can be turned around and be totally understood and fully predictable. And GR and QM can be expressed in a consistent language. Part #2 And yes Einstein’s Cosmological Constant can explain a static; 1. The planet moon systems. 2. The solar systems. 3. The galactic…

Theory of Time.pdf In addition partial derivatives of this function can betaken to find the change in time based off the change in frequency, acceleration, and mass. I will put a 3D version of the graph on later when Ican make one. Tell me what you think of this. The first page of the pdf will need to be rotated, but the rest are right side up.

What about this then. I belive that once a photon has been liberated from an atom it no longer has any velocity in the time dimension. All matter is traveling through spacetime at c, in the case of matter most of the velocity is in the time dimension. When a photon is emitted from an atom it is mearly dropped off in 3D space, standing still in time (as it does) while the rest of the "solid" universe speeds away at c, giving the observer the impression that it is the photon that is moving away at the speed of light. The photon, being an oscilating electromagnetic wave, appears to any observer wizzing by to be a sine wave, but that is only the view of the observer (simi…

The Big Bang theory is a mathematical model that has to rely on two principal observations to be seen as fact-but both of those seem unsafe. 1/Redshift-From the redshift of spectral lines we can conclude that objects are generally receding. Dark matter, dark energy inflation all rely on the assumption that redshift is a reliable indicator of radial velocity- I can`t see how it can be. 1/Critics mention Compton Scattering as a contributor to redshift 2/The K Trumpler effect, known since 1911-The well documented, accepted, but ignored apparent phenomenon that O,B type stars are receding to a much greater extent than other spectral classes. I must also mention that I…

When I watch these pop-science shows with people like Michio Kaku, I keep seeing them say say that the universe originally expanded faster than the speed of light because it's actually bigger than 13.7 billion light years, which they try to explain with various theories such as dark energy, but with a pretty universal property in quantum mechanics, couldn't that infinitely small thing that it was at the moment before it big banged be very or perhaps infinitely delocalized and thus make the universe bigger than what light would expand to be? I suppose you would need to be able to describe the entire universe as a single equation though... High mass in conventional QM woul…

The link below, I think, is a well-written discussion of the theoretical problems in cosmology today. This topic and thread is for the discussion of these problems. Discuss known alternatives such as MOND etc., or speculate without bringing up too many details of an unknown model such as your own or providing links to such models. For this, your own new thread would be better http://www.scilogs.e...k-matter-crisis

Virtual reality applications can be of two types. In non-immersive virtual reality such simulations are used to simulate destroyed cities or other things like Titanic etc where as in Immersive virtual reality individuals see the world through the eyes of a virtual body which exists in a virtual reality environment. See Immersion (virtual reality) With the kind of advancements that is taking place in developing new synthesizing haptic, visual and auditory physical models achieving realism which is indistinguishable from the actual reality we are not far away from having our own virtual bodies in cyberspace. Natural Interactive Walking Project- video clips. Whil…

1. Master Theory - relativistic theory, because it is the same problem ("Electrodynamics of moving material bodies"), which solved the Einstein. 2. Einstein gave the absoluteness to a cross-scale, but not to the time. In Master Theory time is absolutely (absent "Twin Paradox"), than it differs from Einstein's Special Relativity Theory (SRT) - a cross-scale is absolutely. But this difference has profound implications. (For example: in Master Theory are absent "Twin Paradox" and "Ehrenfest's Paradox".) 3. Author of Master Theory (Alexander V. Masterov) has proved that the problem (that are solved by Einstein) has an infinite number of solutions. SRT - only one of th…

Hey! Somebody I know said: "The universe exists. The universe has a beginning (big bang) and an end (freeze). The idea of it collapsing again is absurd, what would cause that? The universe couldn’t have created itself, as it had to have been in existence first (common sense) in order to have done so. So, something OUTSIDE the universe created the universe. The universe is all space, time, and matter (theory of relativity). Something outside time created it. Could be an abstract idea, but have you ever seen a number affect something? What else is outside the universe? Nothing. So, nothing comes from nothing (common sense). Nothing isn’t the creator. So, it’s a dis…

Time, motion, and Thought. To explain time you need motion. To explain motion you need Thought. Remove all motion from the universe and what you have left is stuff. In the beginning the universe needed something to get the stuff moving. That something is Thought. Thought is not stuff, but has always been and, for all practical purposes, always will be. As motion and time began so too did all of matter. A single thought produced what we now call matter. That thought came from a whole bag of thoughts called Thought. Thought is not perfect. Thought is not divine. But it is real. The only real thing that has no motion, no energy, and no dimension is Though…

The dynamic model of the globe has proved: sharp change of weights (Ms / magma / a nucleus of a planet) - during occurrence of the Earth in Solar system why at this parity of weights began the new natural phenomenon - during a presence of the Earth in Solar system (~ 800 thousand years) has proceeded ( 9 cycle) of this natural phenomenon, at last, why with the beginning of IV stage is a natural phenomenon temporarily has stopped - in more detail on a site ---

In nature we see magnets attracting each other even though they`re neutrally charged,we see neutral atoms combining exothermically to from ionic lattices and covalently bound molecules,diamagnetism,paramegnetism..All this points to a conclusion that substances will tend to align themselves so that they will attract each another. It might be a minute effect in comparison with the electromagnetic force, but when considering large numbers of particles,we get something quite substantial as the effect doesn`t cancel out.Is this conclusion correct? In the everyday world where the particles are comparatively static we can see dipoles in common molecules like water and magnetism i…

Do people, hopefully not most; look at life and their surroundings as a drag? Through a jaundiced eye, so to speak. Are they nothing more than Lemmings looking for a cliff to leap from? This is not meant as a religious or atheistic venue to spit venom, so let's keep it simple. I would just like to have your opinions and thoughts on the question. So, I will stay out of it entirely. Pardon, but I did change, "WE" to "THEY". I will only make changes to my initial comment if necessary, but no suggestions.

Hi: Let's say the emotion of anger -- in all mammals [including humans] -- were to suddenly, completely, and permanently vanish. What would be the effects? Would it be a good thing to lose the emotion of anger? What would be the drawbacks of the elimination of this destructive emotion? Thanks, GX

I have a couple things id like to say first This is a very young concept I am not the most educated, otherwise i wouldn't be asking for help I am in school so i can develop this idea further i won't post the whole thing online yet, nor in this first post this first post is me asking: is this a site for just discussion or actual formula development? I will post the basis/starting ideas then i will dive further when i have more time, work and school take quite a bit of time. maybe later today maybe tomorrow. there is more behind these 2 ideas and 2. i thought was obvious and my addition is the influence behind gravity, the earth is pulling itsself away from itsself e…

I'm sure enough of you here have seen James Cameron's Avatar, and remember that a big plot point in the film is Jake Sully being transferred from his original body to that of a Na'avi. That sort of thing has me thinking: Could human beings one day get a surgery that fully changes their species? Yes, it does sound a little far-fetched for today's genetic scientists, but in the distant future it could be possible, but also quite dangerous. I think something like this could be beneficial to those who are terminally ill or have organ failure, so they could get their full consciousness transferred into a new body, maybe even of a different species. Then there's the…

Hi all, I'm a layman when it comes to science but I do want to learn more. I wanted to know if humans were to evolve wings (for whatever reason), how long would the wings be? What changes will come in their body? Say the wings were to evolve angel-like... would that be possible? And probably my most important question, how long (years) would it take for them to evolve those wings, if the process started now? 100,000? 200,000 years? Sorry if this question has been asked before.

I have been thinking recently about electrons and electromagnetic wave and have come up with the following idea. I was just wondering what you good people thought about it. (I know the information is presented in quite a technical way, but I tend to find that helps me to see any problems there maybe with the idea). Introduction ========= Both electrons (or positrons) and electromagnetic waves have always been thought of as separate entities, i.e. as particles and waves respectively. However it has been experimentally shown that both of these entities can display both particle and wave like behaviour. Moreover, electron-positron annihilations produce only ele…

From : http://empiricalchurch.org/theory/ The following image was draw by my own hand, being Mosheh, and represents, as well as I am able, a description of the theory. My proposals are based around the idea of a natural progressive dimensional pattern of formation for our universe as space and time and matter. This image shows a potential pattern for consideration, which suggests 16 dimensions, while in theory we may consider and discuss potentially upto 28 dimensions. Below is illustrated a simple natural progressive rise pattern for dimensional motions and transitions of state on a spatial ether, as a transindental fluid, which condescends to obey certain na…

Is the universe governed by forces or energy? Could the most fundamental particles have fixed negative potential energies so that they always exist in some kind of bound state? e=1/r1 - 1/r2 + 1/r3 - 1/r4... = constant (<0)(odd= 'attractive' even='repulsive') If this was so,there would be most probable configurations in which particles were separated by certain distances. For two 'attracting' particles moving further apart, other particles would have to compensate by moving closer to them into less probable configurations. Moving between states of differing probabilities would appear to us as a force and for human beings to reach lower probability states-say a …

A few days prior to Christmas of this year, 2012; something of cataclismic proportion is supposed to happen concerning earths gravity. Supposedly "it", gravity will be reversed and everything will be cast into an eternal void. "WOW"! That scares hell to me since I'm going to be eighty come Dec.11. I have read tons of material on the subjest but am totally in the dark about it. Could someone please be informative? The below link is about all that I have to go on. "HELP"! http://www.2012danger.com/

So atom bombs and nuclear reactors release a lot of energy, but it seems like it would be more convenient if something could store that energy. Is there some way that energy could be mechanically used to compress matter and create degenerate matter? Or would you have to constantly use massive amounts of energy to keep matter stored like that? Because if the surface of a neutron star moves even 1 milimeter, it releases a gamma ray burst, which within our vicinity would be powerful enough to sterilize Earth, not that we could generate anything on Earth that powerful, but it seems like degenerate matter can store massive amounts of energy in a small space. Now that I th…

Hi: I currently daydream of a hypothetical food product. This product is vegan-friendly and has all the vegetables, fruits, herbs, algae, mushrooms, seaweed, and other non-animal organisms that are necessary/beneficial for human health. It also contains beneficial and essential microbes [such as probiotics and the Red Star T-6635+ yeast which is a vegan-friendly source of B12]. All the aforementioned organisms are in amounts and proportions optimum for human health. This product is completely organic and free of any pesticides, synthetic ethylene and other man-made substances that compromise the heath of foods and their human consumers. In addition, no organisms …

Everything around us is evolving. Something faster, something slower and something by jump. For example the mankind understanding of the Universe – the deck on the turtle back in the past. Nowadays we can understand it like a package of different theories understood by the biggest brains of the present days. Or are they just doing so? The present is not the matter of easy understanding for the every day man, but the future will bring the change, because it’s estimated to have one and only Theory taking the Universe as one whole unit. But is the mankind prepared for such Theory? Based on my experience I can say: it is not! But I would like to change this fact by the alt…
