Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

I have thought about this for some time and though it was time to post to see what others think, anyway here it is: I have a hypothesis that everything everylivig thing has ever thought about, is either a window into another dimension, or a dimension is being created around that thought. That's all. I just wanted to know what others think. I am 13 and an aspiring quantum physicist.

If a disc was spinning in microgravity, and while the disc was spinning, the disc ejected some mass. The ejected mass would continue to travel in the in the direction of tangential velocity, but what would happen to the disc? Would it be pushed in the opposite direction of the ejected mass's tangential velocity? I am speculating that this is so, but I am not sure since I do not have access to microgravity to experiment.

So, snakes can see, or "sense" infrared vision, right? In a perfectly unethical world, could the gene that allows for picking up infrared light be inserted into a human and allow them to see it? ~EE

This is another hypothesis of mine, I'm 13, aspiring quantum physicist, and don't have the recourses to test any of my theories and hypothesise. This may also already be a theory/hypothesis, but nevertheless, here go's: What if black holes are just gravity wells, or massive vortexes of entropy? Ok, so, what if as a star shrinks and dies it's gravitational field enlarges, which pulls in every quark in an immediate vicinity, which then collide with the photons, etc. explaining the theorised warp appearing around theorised black holes. Which would mean that black holes don't "go" anywhere, it's just everything that enters it's area gets... I don't really no the correct term…

If the multiverse theory is true, it means that there are infinite number of planets, in fact infinite number of planets exact same as ours. There are infinite number of ''ME'' out there living the exact same life as me. Now you may agree or disagree of the theory, but if we take the path I did, which is that I believe in the theory, then I want to ask some basic questions: 1. If the theory is right and there is infinite multiverses out there , existing for eternity without beginning and without an end, does it mean that I personally , after I die, will live again the EXACT same life as I did this life, because according to quantum physics, energy can't be destroyed. Th…

If 2 mirrors were placed either side of universe & set in motion parallel to one another, for light to bounce back & forth between middle of them it would have to travel instantaneously & be given sideways momentum with each bounce. Sounds like Decoupling & fallacy of information traveling instantaneously. If I solve atomic clock time-dilation here now would I have proved my worth regarding eligibility for science funding?

I am 13, and an aspiring Quantum Physicist, I have started development on a paradox correcting "Time Travel" theory, and would like to know what others think. First of all I need to point out that my theory requires a 4th dimension, that being "T" or Time. Meaning that every point in time has its own coordinates, so with a controlled ionized wormhole you could "code" coordinates into Space and Time, without adverse effects, if my theory is proven to be true, that backwards time-travel as it is constantly perceived, is not possible, but instead time is another dimension in SPACE known as Time, this theory would allow "Time Travel" without causing any type of paradox, …

Good Evening everyone, I have once again a crackpot style hypothesis, but with some mathematics tonight. Before I allow you to begin poking holes in my hypothesis here are some basic rules for discussion. 1. There will be no copying of equations except for the purpose of peer review, this equation is my own, and I claim copyright and ownership of this hypothesis unless there is a hypothesis that has be proposed prior to this that has the same equations and general thought. 2. No personal judgement is to be rendered, only judgement upon the theory. (Basically no flames if you think this is insane and would like to beat up on me for it, after all all of us have insa…

In recent months I have made 5 observations which are indirectly leading toward a possible theoretical insight into the possible underlying nature of gravity. Although physics is usually concerned with the HOW science works , rather than WHY a certain aspect of the natural world happens the way it does. Nonetheless 'sometimes ' probing the WHY can occasionally lead towards an insight into the HOW something scientifically works the way it does. This could possibly be the case with the observation I have made , with 5 gravity related phenomenon. 1. Many years ago when the children were small, I was able to raise Massive quantities of water , high up in their ro…

Can’t be possible, a parallel “ gravity -- electric” interaction between Cosmos bodies? (One speculative question) Let suppose that cosmic bodies possesses electric negative charges free. And in amount proportional with their mass as below: Qx / e = Mx / Mun. = Nx Here Qx is the amount in Coulomb of electric free charges. Mx is the mass of cosmic body. Mun. = Mplank * sqrt(α^0.5) = 1.859389987 * 10^-9 kg. Nx = Proportion Then forces of electric and gravity interaction will be: Fe = Q1 * Q2 / (4*pi*ε * (D1-2 )^2) = G * M1 * M2 / ( D1-2)^2 For example: The electric and gravity forces between sun and earth. Qsun = e * Nsun = 1.706963894…

Fatness of triangle=A/P2 A/P2=1/(a+b+c) We know that: When angles of triangle are 60,60.60 degrees then a=b=c=12/(3)1/2 When triangle angles are 45,45,90 then a=2 b=2 c=2*21/2 When angles are 30,30,120 then a=14 b=14 c=16*31/2 Can we make any actions(the actions should be the same for any triangle) with triangle angles to define a,b,c ?

This is speculations, so I need a bit of leeway just to express these thoughts. But don't hold back with ripping it to theoretical pieces, because I need that to erase these thoughts from my mind. Ive done a good amount of research about quantum mechanics and GR, but I dont have enough knowledge to disprove the thoughts I have. Here they are. In my understanding (which is probably where the issues will be) The gluon field exists as vacuum energy, which is to say, the gluon field is always present, regardless of the amount of matter or energy present. The gluon field is that which supports gluons in their role with QCD, quarks and their role with hadrons. Quarks make…

Hello All, Recently I've read this article about quantum physics and the multiplicity of mind: split-brains,fragmented minds, dissociation, quantum consciousness : http://journalofcosmology.com/QuantumConsciousness102.html Here are few outlines: Preface: " Quantum physics and Einstein's theory of relativity make assumptions about the nature of the mind which is assumed to be a singularity. In the Copenhagen model of physics, the process of observing is believed to effect reality by the act of perception and knowing which creates abstractions and a collapse function thereby inducing discontinuity into the continuum of the quantum state. This gives rise to the uncert…

William Kelly 1 November 2015 (Particle Scale: Infinite) Dominant Particle is relative to dimension LAW: multiple particles can and will co exist on the same point in space at any given time(dimension). The dominant particle is the one that is being reflected by light waves, takes up physical space and is furthermore dominant to human biological senses. Dominant particle is relative to dimension. Recessive Particles or non dominant particles in the human dimension is portrayed as black matter or “nothingness” or what lies beyond the universe “darkness”. It is possible for particles to co exist and no dominant to exist in the 3rd-1st dimensions. Outside of th…

The ability to recognize patterns seems to be one fundamental capability of neurons, neural nets, and brains; a second is remembering things. We remember original sensations and patterns that we have recognized. These two capabilities are Turing equivalent, except for infinite memory. Pattern recognition is essentially recognizing correlations. Within the past couple of millennia we recognized correlations cannot always be trusted, and developed the scientific method to avoid falsely recognized patterns. That people believe false patterns is understandable. Humanity thrived for a few hundred thousand years without the scientific method. That scientists think rati…

It's not easy for a no one to state something and have anyone listen. Maybe some one will read my assertion and champion it on their own. The Van Allen Belt is clearly electro magnetic. Naturally occurring in its origin or seeded and put there deliberately - might anyone speculate that the metals - especially the gold in the earth - perhaps the silver - taken from the ground of the earth might have an effect on the belts phenonina? The answer seems elementary. I wonder if others think I'm sleep deprived or have a genuine thought? Thanks for your thoughts. jerry

Introduction The complexity of the universe is possibly beyond the grasp of the human brain, as for your dog, your cellphone is just another thing to play with. A sign of this is when physics resorts to complex mathematical models which do not tie into a human way to visualize or understand. These mathematical models may not picture or explain how things work, but they do serve as important tools for performing certain calculations and predictions. They can also be important as names and placeholders for phenomena not yet fully understood and explained, temporarily allowing science to get around them and continue. A couple of examples are Relativity and Space…

Dear Science Forums users, I'm writer from Finland and I'm doing my next work based on a world where the sea level has risen about 1000 feet. Is there any situation/natural disaster that could cause this kind of situation and if there is what kind of damages would that disaster make when it would happen. If there is even any wild suggestions that could explain that kind of situations, I would be grateful:) I would of course like to add you to "thank you" section if I can get somekind of help here from somenone. Thank you in advance!

Strong Force In today’s Standard Model, Strong Force is considered one of the four fundamental forces in the universe. Strong Force is described as the strongest of the four forces and as having the shortest reach. The composite dipole hypothesis described below suggests that Strong Force is the result of a multitude of dipole force vectors. These force vectors are both attracting and repelling. The fact that these different dipole forces are based on different dipole distances creates a complex resultant which is highly dependant on the distance between the particles. Let us start with two free protons placed in the vicinity of each other. Looking closer …

Here's a theory I made. Thoughts. Can you help with ideas. I also came up with a theory on electroms which was said to only need a Princeton backing by a physicist. My Theory talks about the infinite and how it can be located at a point. At a point it can be found but at no other place can it be found. Infinity at a point is infinite at all points but the point it's located making it about infinite. I will explain more in the paper why it's about infinite instead of infinite. A large piece of my paper is that infinity is everything . I talk about this throughout the paper. Here is my theory Part 1-discussion of infinity Infiniti goes on forever. It has…

Simulations suggest a model for gravity based on the ES charge of the individual constituents in atoms and neutrons. Said simulations show a possible ES mechanism for neutron gravity. 2D Charge Posturing and Gravity between 2 neutrons with trapped quarks: 3D Charge Posturing and ES Gravity between 2 neutrons: Recent calculations also suggest an experiment: Proposed neutron gravity experiment: Place a negative charge of 2*10^-18 Coulombs (=13 electrons) above a source of neutrons. Stir up the neutrons and see if they defy earth gravity by gravitating toward the charge above them.
