Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Repeating it doesn't make that statement any less wrong, and it's spectacularly wrong.

An interesting observation about time is connected to an affect in photography called motion blur, as shown below. Motion blur occurs when the shutter speed is slower than the action speed. Since the photo stops time but conserves distance, the speed difference (d/t) shows up as uncertainty in distance; motion blur. Motion blur gives the mental impression of motion even though time is stopped in the photo. This suggests time is a potential that can convert to a potential in distance. This also suggests a time to distance potential conversion may well be the basis for Heisenberg Uncertainty. We can infer the momentum of the mouse but we can't fully determine its posit…

Hello, my name is Alex. Lets assume that we have a time machine. We are going in time from p.1 to p.2. There is nothing for us (who traveling) between 1 and 2. And here are the questions: If “World line” should be continuous and shouldn’t break then [0,1] should be changed also. So, can we know anything about the past where we came from? If we assume that the future is set and world just going his way. Can the time travel accident change the normal course of time and, for example, accelerate the evolution of live? It’s just some logical questions. Thank you for your time.

Currently the science estimates that the Sun is orbiting the galactic center in a vertical oscillation (Up, down) http://www.centauri-dreams.org/wp-co..._radiation.jpg Let's assume that this is correct. Now, please see the following presentation at pg 15 http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~barnes/ast110/MilkyWay.pdf There is an image of the galactic rotation random vectors in the nearby Solar Neighborhood. It is stated: "Most stars near the Sun have random velocities of a few tens of km/sec. These stars orbit the galactic center at ~230 km/sec." As it is random, each star can move to any direction. Therefore, we can assume that some of them are moving inwards to the galactic …

Recently I found a paper about new theory. It seems a kind of digital physics. The paper is located at this link http://figshare.com/articles/Nokton_theory/1549720 Is it a good candidate to be a theory of everything ?

I recently read a column in MaximumPC magazine by Tom Halfhill ( whose day job is as an analyst at Microprocessor Report and who I've read since Byte magazine in the 80s ) on the computer simulation of the whole universe. He had the rather naïve idea that since information is encoded as particle states in modern computers, and since just to encode all the information of a single particle would require a multitude of other particles, then by necessity a computer much larger than the whole universe is required to simulate the existing universe, But then he stated something which might make the simulation possible, and whichcaught my attention. In simulation games, lik…

Is there something that drives certain people to migrate to other places (some sort of epigenetic trigger) ? Why is it that less Caucasians prefer to work in warmer climes ? Why do some people take to a life at sea ? (inspite of obvious drawbacks).. Why do some people take to flying as a profession ? Please elucidate your viewpoint.

I realize that my previous discussion (debate) here has been closed: http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/91032-the-science-of-joy-and-happiness/ Therefore, you won't see me debating any longer since debating got us nowhere. I thought I could get somewhere with it. In other words, I thought that I could make my idea logically valid. But as it turns out, that does not seem to be the case. Therefore, this new topic I made gets things done the right way. That is, we are now going to talk about how I can test my idea. We are going to talk about science this time and no more debating. Overview Of My Theory To Be Tested (With New Points/Explanations) First …

Hello. Would anyone share what means could a human stem cell pass through the intestinal walls of our bowels and find their way into the blood steam ? I understand that this may not be possible as I have been told that stem cells are too big to pass through the intestinal walls however oligo elements such as the following (ions, sugars, amino acids, lipids) can pass through. Are these molecular elements larger in size than stem cells ? What I would like to know is how could it be possible not whether it can be achieved or not. Thanks

This odd thought keeps nagging at me and I have been debating whether or not I should even share this on the forum. It may even get trashed and rejected completely. Whatever happens here is cool with me, I simply need some well thought input to help me develop my own thoughts here. Where to begin is even kind of difficult. I believe there is a way to visibly see atomic geometry with the human eye. (I know this sounds weird or maybe even dumb. Just stick with me for a bit.) Atoms are so small that it is "impossible" for us to see them with tools and make visual observations. On the atomic scale we use mathematics to calculate the shape (geometry) and nature of atoms. A…

I had difficulty visualizing how mass and energy are the very same thing. This is basic relativity according to Einstein and all good physicists. Calder explains it well: At 1/10 C the energy of an approaching star is increased by 10.55% If receding it loses 9.55% of its energy. This is an average gain of .5%. This only depends on the relative speeds of observer and star.Since C doesn't vary, mass and energy are equivalent. Einstein intuited E=M before putting it to math . Paraphrased from "Einstein's World' Nigel Calder Calder stated additionally, "The rest-energy is the energy required to create matter." Matter is made of energy.

If we imagine light as composed of 7 native colors, each with a discrete "colored" photon, could we then visualize white light as the product of entanglement of these native photons? (each of which exist at different energy levels.)

This theory has been with me for a while now, in the same way we have bacteria living on our planet is it possible that we are bacteria living inside another life forms world. It sounds crazy but if you think about it bacteria spreads and evolves, it evolves like humans to become more suited to its environment. We haven't really got any idea what space is or how big or small our existence is, we could be a tiny spot of bacteria on somebody's kitchen table just waiting to be bleached away. Maybe I watch too many sci-fi movies.

There was a program on bbc1 yesterday, I cannot remember all details has I had a friend around who never stops chatting. There was a segment about some band who have managed to put all there music to dna, it was something about first turning it to binary code then coding it to C,A.T,G, IT then went on saying we could encode all human knowledge into dna. This made me wonder if we encoded all human knowledge to dna, could we then theoretically seed a planet with this encoded dna, and whether these new life forms would have all our knowledge within them, If this was possible in our future to seed another planet with this dna, would they follow the same path as hu…

Please view the attached file : >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I give the following equation, as the reason for calling the value of 1 {Quantity one} as the mother and Sum of all possible Rational Numbers. http://www.wincowalker.com/ An Equation created and proved from basics by me [ Thomas Walker ] in 1998. The greatness of this relationship is the fact that it shows that number 'one'1is the sum of sums of all possible inverse powers of all possible positive integers that come after 1. That is, from ‘2’ to ‘ infinity’.

Have you ever wonder why people decide to read the Odyssey and to kill a mocking bird as the schools literary cannon and it never changes, kids 10 years ago read the same books as we do today in schools? Who decides what goes into a literary requirement in schools and how educated are those people? I feel like it should change people should analyze different books new books and think about having them as a requirement because peoples values change and people. The bible was written so long ago and I feel like people dont question the things in it and thats whats probably going on with this too. I think people trust the people who decided this a long time ago and everyone…

I've been looking up a lot of information about quantum mechanics, and something that I keep running into are people on youtube videos/documentaries claiming that the outcome of double slit experiment changes when we measure it because we measure it, i.e. our actions of measuring it are the ones causing a different outcome. Is this just people passing the most obvious answer/their opinion as facts, or is this an actual problem with quantum mechanics but we don't know how to make sure ? I know people on the internet will always try to be smarter than they are, but I've never seen anyone even try to bring any arguments to this. Thanks.

What these series of diagrams are speculating is that the existence of something is dependent on the observer. In other words, Einstein's Theory of Relativity can be applied to Existence itself. One of the diagrams goes on to introduce and advance the very radical and seemingly contradictory speculation that any entity that possesses consciousness is actually not fully conscious and full consciousness is actually the absence of consciousness in the traditionally accepted sense. Note: At maybe one or two points in the below images I use the description "spectrum of existence" when I meant to use "span of existence". Both actually refer to two different things: …

THE ADVERSARIAL REVIEW of the New Intelligent Design <id> and its new discoveries To be fair to those who bought my science books, I will be sharing you the different content of my science books and in different approach so that all of you who are interested could be a part of this Adversarial Review of the New Intelligent Design <id> and its new discoveries. I claimed that my new discoveries are universal, obvious and yet sooooooooooo profound and sooooooo straightforward. BACKGROUND Before the new Intelligent Design <id> had discovered the real intelligence and the universal boundary line (UBL) in the topic of origin and cause and effect, o…

You are invited to shoot this duck (hypothesis) down. perception noun (AWARENESS)› [U] an awareness of things through the physical senses , esp. sight thing noun (OBJECT)A1 [C] used to refer in an approximate way to an object or to avoid naming it: object noun [C] (THING)› a thing that can be seen, held, or touched, usually not a living thing:Distant objects look blurry to me. --from the Cambridge Dictionaries Online-- Perception, as I use it here, is: the differentiation of sets or arrangements of stimuli as objects. One can be said to be aware of something when a sensory stimulus is received from that something. To perceive some th…

To be clear I do not support any specific conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11. I simply enjoy the dicussion. Everything from the 3rd building (not hit by a plane) collasping, lack of video showing a plane hit the Pentagon, questions about inflight cell phone use, and the Bin Laden family connection with U.S. officials are interesting details that make for fun conversation. Does anyone here believe the official story is a cover and something else actually happened?

Hello! I'm new here so I think I have to introduce to you myself. Please Moderator, you can move this to INTRODUCTION PAGE but I could not find it here. So, I post here. Sorry if I got a mistake. I am the Founder, Discoverer, Scientist, Researcher and Author of the new Intelligent Design <id> and the discoverer of the real "intelligence". I maybe one of the greatest scientist who ever live now or a worst shameful scientist on humanity's history, but only a real science can strip me of having real science. Well, the old ID was based on "complexity" from Darwin's original idea of eyes as "complex", hence we have "irreducible complexity" and "complex specified inf…

You knew, I've been studying science for the last 15 years since I discovered the real intelligence and I am the father/founder of the new Intelligent Design <id>. My discovery predicted, I mean that if I used the real intelligence in Quantum Mechanics, that there is no such thing as UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE becuase existence is a certain phenomenon, then, if existence will follow the principle of uncertatinty, then, we will never have an existence. It is too obvious. I mean, if all particles and the coming to-be-discovered particles are meant to exist, they will never follow UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE. I think as an analogy, that the whole existence exists in a 4D …
