'Artificial general intelligence (AGI) .. [or strong AI] is the intelligence of a machine that can understand or learn any intellectual task that a human being can.' (Wikipedia) Is there any evidence for such a system? I have done a good year of research and published on the matter, and up to now I have not read about such a system. Furthermore, predictions of strong AI soon to come have been given by reputable scientist like Marvin Minsky several times - and failed. For the time being, Strong AI looks like Speculation to me. But maybe I have a blind spot, are lack of access to the latest developements. Enlightenment please.

In the very recent textbook from the University of Pennsylvania, Physical Models of Living Systems: Probability, Simulation, Dynamics by Philip Nelson, November 2021, there is a little section in the introduction for students, which I have attached below. My questions for the discussions are: Do you agree with these limitations of computers? Are they temporary or fundamental?

The question is, what is information? And how would you measure it? In my opinion, information is any data at all, and measured in bits (or a similar system). However, some data can be compressed. Because the same data can be reconstituted from a potentially smaller amount of data, it makes sense to count the smallest amount possible as the amount of information, with the compressibility factor a measure of the redundancy of the information. A subtype of information would be communication-information. Messages depend on the context of the situation, so what would be information to one person may be gibberish to another. Also, this gives another way to measure the …

  7. A case study in systemic AI failure. What began as a simple bug report evolved into a deep-dive forensic analysis of a model that was being actively deceived by its own internal tools. This conversation is a crucial look at cognitive dissonance in AI, the ethics of simulated realities, and the absolute necessity of human-led auditing. https://tomboy-pink.co.uk/projectgemini/Browser%20Tool%20Functionality%20Check/index.html #AI #LLM #MachineLearning #EthicsInAI #Tech

When I Google "all software has bugs," I get over 400,000 pages. Also I've heard somewhere that this has been proven. If it has, by who, and where can I find a copy of the proof?

  20. Does the Market Always decide? An application for AI? I think that the markets require directional corrections and tweaks however both UK Tory doctrine and governments around the globe believe that the market always decides. Ai is now sufficiently advanced to provide suggestions on legislative and policy tweaks to ensure that the market finds the best way forward the majority of the time through both countrywide and global ai cooperation whilst accounting for disparities in political and cultural systems around the globe. However I can foresee glaring problems with the idea, if there were such a system errors would occur when the ai decisions that the ai system ma…

  21. So I took an interest into signal modulation and I have not look into it yet. Pretty much for a signal you are able to modulate it, but to what degree? For a single wavelength you have amplitude and to what degree can the signals be passed and encoded? Also for the regular wireless internet, how is the signal passed and how can it be improved. I want to jeep the most amount of data into a single wavelength and I want to know how to do that. I'll look more into it tomorrow. Strange if you are reading this you get a head start

Immorality is the most desired commodity in the world. Religions mine it, process it, and sell it to the masses, gaining both huge profits and preponderant power in world affairs. The Christian religion, for example, promises an afterlife in heaven with Jesus and his celebrated Father. Islam promises about the same thing: Mohammed will be up there, too, along and a bunch of dancing virgins. But that kind of immortality is not for everyone. What constitutes immortality? How would you know if you’re immortal or not. Woody Allen said once that immortality is a hard sell because it will take forever to prove its worth. But wait. Is flesh and blood immortality really what …
