Why can't SFN members delete their posts? I think that this would be a good feature to implement as it would lessen accidental double-posting and general bothersomeness towards SFN forum administrators.

I've tried to login to the chat today and yesterday. I keep getting "server not found" error messages. Is this a problem on my end or is anyone else having this problem? EDIT: It worked once after the problem started but now I consistently can't login.

After you upload a new photo, (not avatar), How long does it take before it changes?

Why does everybody in this forum write in such an expressive and sophisticated manner? We are in the internet after all, and hence isn't it the social norm to type in 'lol' or 'gr8' and 'omg' from time-to-time? WhY NoT wRiTe likE thIs?

I use my computer for all the usual things (Email, Bank, Poker, Family History etc.). I like this forum and so whenever I use my computer I have a quick look to see if anything interesting to me has appeared. I am disappointed when due to timing there are only a very few items displayed. I think it would be a good idea to always display a set number of the latest entries - even if that sometimes gives more than a day's ideas and anwers. I suggest always displaying the latest 30 entries. Do you think this is a good idea?

I've noticed that a c in parentheses is automatically turned into a copyright symbol ©, even with the noparse command. Any way to customize this, or turn it off? Punctuation near parentheses is turned into smilies but that can be defeated with noparse The registered symbol is a problem, too ®

Try this: on the main page in the search box at the top, type (for example): 'neutrino photon' It comes back with the first page of 51 total topics back to the beginning of time. Now click on page 2... it has somehow broadened the search to give you 131 topics, but only for the last year?

For some reason i am getting some double posts from sfn and some time shifted posts some with hours between them way after i have already read them.

So, where did they go?

What happened to the Politics forum? It's no where to be found. I even looked for my own post history to get in from the back end, and yet none of my posts showed up for that forum. What's up with that? Okay... I just ran a test. Logged out and suddenly the Politics forum was visible when I was viewing as a guest. I presume I've for some reason been banned from the Politics section and nobody on the staff felt it warranted to notify me of this? If so, I'd like an open and public explanation of why. Thanks.

The Youtube tags used in threads from the old version are all buggered. Now, instead of a video appearing within the thread, all we see is the Video ID. I can hotlink to an image, and I can upload the image and have it show as an attachment, but if I take the URL of the attachment and try to use that in an embedded image it says "you cannot use that extension" because it has detected the .php filename. Is it possible to make an exception for this so you can embed images that are linked via an attached image?

My profile says I have: Reputation: -2 Neutral Red (background color) How does this get increased? I guess Reputation is awarded by other users when they find your posts helpful.

Lately I have been finding the forum is behaving strangely. I am missing the names on the tops of people's posts and the avatars are in a funny place. Any idea what is wrong? Edit: Hmm - seems to be a problem with "SFN" style setting since "--SFN Blue" works fine.

I've noticed the word being thrown about a lot during debates to try and suppress the offensive nature of debating. I think it's being used out of context at times and should be considered before being put to the table. Almost every thread where a less-educated member debates with a more-educated one, the term is used. It shouldn't be constantly used like that and the debate should be conducted fairly, non-biased and with structure. If someone has a point, and it seems offensive, one shouldnt' take offense -- especially if that wasn't the nature of the post. how do you make a signature on this site?

Right now I am typing this on my iPad, and I have SFN as an icon on my home screen. Many sites include an icon, which the iPad picks up and uses for the icon on the home screen, but if this is not present then it just takes a screenshot for the icon. Unfortunately SFN doesn't have an icon and the screenshot isn't very distinctive so it is quite hard to find on the cluttered screen. Could you please add the following to your header: <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="iphone_icon_57x57.png" /> where the png is obviously the icon (57 by 57 pixels), to keep us iPad users happy?
