Why does this topic* tell me it has zero views when obviously at least 2 other people viewed it? * http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/80781-theoretical-way-to-hold-tgether-unstable-atoms/ (thread link added by mod)

Hi, Is it possible for me to edit a topic that I created if I wish to rephrase my question? Is it possible to delete the topic so that I may just make a new one? The only reason is because I don't want to flood the forum with multiple threads of the same topic only slightly rephrased. Of course I know if its not possible then I can just add a comment, but I's much rather edit. Please help. Thanks, pyroglycerine

The one that says atom, molecule, organism. It would be cool if we had other variations to choose from. A physics one, for the physicists to recognize each-other, maybe have equations written out and more complex ones for larger milestone posts. A chemistry one, have compounds getting more and more complex. You get the point. I think it would be cool, what do ya'll think?

I realize one strange taxonomy of science fields in this forum. You see Astronomy and Cosmology section is included under Physics section. If astrophysics threads are posted, there wouldn`t be a problem. But what about astrobiology and astrochemistry? Aren`t they fields under biology and Chemistry?

I just had a thread split for Hijacking and another warning was given to me even though a) I did not hijack the thread b) No moderator sent a note or even a comment about my 2nd warning which must have occurred today. I understand this is a set cliche and I ruffle some feathers, but try to have some semblance of fairness. One day I'll be banned but that will never make this right. If in a religion thread someone cannot plug the idea that Telepathy/Mass Consciousness is a pretty hefty steppingstone towards the belief in god then the mentality of this group (whatever mod bypassed warning and commenting) falls in question (or anyone agreeing with them). …

A good discussion of sexology will be slightly sexual. Is that okay? Does it depend on how personal the content is? For example, see my posts here (Why do men like lesbians so much?).

I don't understand the inconsistencies of the forum clock and find it a positive nusisance at times. For instance when I am replying in a thread and the poster I am replying to is noted as being online, I might expedite my reply for their benefit. Then I find that going back to the index/menus the poster was actually recorded as being offline a significant time before I posted so my rush was needless. Now I see the ridiculous situation where the poster of post#97 in this thread http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/85331-thought-experiments/page-5 Is recorded as being offline at 1.12pm although He is also recorded as posting at 1.14pm I wondered if t…

<link removed by moderator> mhd stands for magnetohydrodynamics. which is a science per oxford definition of science. my thread has to do with science. your action borders on slandering me.which is illegal by british law. im requesting my thread be reopened. to not do so will result in reports to your isp and the international science boards. this post is being screen saved as evidence,if needed at a future date. sincerely ,the great and powerful robomont.

I'm finding myself mildly irked by the abuse of the "status" feature to keep crankery on the forums' main page, i.e. in the "Recent Status Updates" section on the right side. Do these statuses violate posting rules 8 or 10?

My post http://www.scienceforums.net/topic/102777-madmac-surprise-hijack-from-two-bolts-strike-train/#entry969577 had nothing to do with any hijack or 'speculations'. It's totally unacceptable to move my post to speculations section.

This is an excellent move and will help to reduce Spam & abuse of one another. No one has any Right to abuse or use harsh words against anyone bcoz no one comes to this site and participates to go back with hurtful feelings. Whatever be the Grade, qualification or Pretense of the Participant be. To be fair this should equally be applicable to all and therefore Mods, Staff etc should also not be allowed to abuse or spam against anyone just bcoz they seem to be in power. Retort to abuse or a tit for tat reaction to abuse may be treated less severely. Motivated Rep markings + or - must also fall under the category of Spam / Abuse. Perhaps the Moderators c…

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/Relativ/tdil.html#c4 See: Problems with variable mass. There are "problems with mass" m. Einstein said it is "not good" to use "relativistic mass".. (If it is not good, then it must be bad.) Is the cloth (of Swansont's physics) so whole? Einstein does NOT support (all) his own stuff. Is there a reason for that (lack of support)? He (=Einstein) did NOT say "difficulty (with mass)"; he said "problems" (!, i.e. plural) instead. Was he (=Einstein) hinting also at the problem we now call "dark(=unknown) matter"? (That's) Something just as difficult, with no (satisfactory) explaination. I.e. (T…

Any chance via this new forum software version of allowing users to edit a post within 1-3 minutes of initial submission without the "this post has been edited" label being applied? Frequently, I need to correct a single spelling error (or, more precisely, override an unwanted autocorrect that I missed while drafting) and would be cool if I could so without that post forever suggesting I've edited it (which I usually read as being related to content or overall presentation of the point). By keeping the time window allotted to do this low, we limit risk of folks unethically adjusting posts after others have responded. Clearly this is a nice to have and not a must…

Looking over the past hour 7 trash threads started 1 real thread answer posted, but I have to scroll my screen to see it We had all hoped for heavier trash swatting with the new look, but it doesn't seem to have arrived yet.

Someone mentioned about removing all the guests in the online user list. Click the Online Users tab on top and then the Sort By button on the right, select Senior Members or whatever you want to see.
