General Philosophy

Hello guys. Another weird thread. Recently, I've noticed I have started to have far more ambition then usual. From things like what I want to get in my grades, to going places in relationships, to just about everything. I'm far more ambitious. I literally crave power. It's becoming concerning. Any idea why this is happening? For back notes, I'm slightly above average intelligence, spend a lot of time reading about science and space, and I have minimal social life. Can we imagine at least theoretically and scientifically a conscious creature which is completely invulnerable to any kind of harm or destruction? That no one and ever would be able inflicting a pain or cause a suffering to such a creature? So, this is new for me. Recently I have been thinking on something that bugs me a tiny bit, and I suppose it has just gotten my gears turning to the point where I'd even want to coin a paradox of it. Do you believe animals have metacognition? Some studies shown that macaque monkeys and dolphins might have them. Do you support Anthropic Principle or Copernican Principle, why?

IMO it helps me organise my life and avoid any unnecesary issues that could get in my way of doing stuff and that is why it works. This is why intelligence agents in many countries use it in my oppinion. But it can be used many ways. Some seem to use it more strictly and others less. It just seems to depend on the individual.

We call the theorizing of the great minds of Athens and the Athenian age as well as those of the European Renaissance as "philosophers" but they advanced human thought and were a part of the growth of science. Hi I've betrayed someone 15 years ago. For a long time, i didn't think about it. Now i've stopped drugs, it came back, and it kinda burns me everyday. I have the possibility to send a message to the person, to apologize. But wouldn't that be too late? Wouldn't that be egoist? Like just to feel better? Or maybe I don't know what a proper apology is? Should I just keep living with it? Maybe it's the price to pay. But, I was thinking, if apologizing would be positive for both sides, then I would do it, but I'm not sure I would make things worst, bring back and old memory, provoke anger... should I just take the risk...

After prolonged thought about the slippery slope fallacy, I've decided that it is wrong to not appeal to it. Its a double edged blade. If a new hitler comes along and says, its wrong not to kill all life, and therefor your wrong for not agreeing because it's a slippery slope, they should be able to silence him for good purposes. Survival, replication, or better yet, solidification of the mind.

This, for me, gives rise to a fundamental question; are we the only species that can appreciate the beauty of the world around us? Does the appreciation of art/aesthetics stem from intelligence or is it innate in higher life forms?
