  1. Because they forgot what he said...
  2. Only if Russia diceds to include it...
  3. If you're going to lie, weave in a truth...
  4. I see, you're right, they're completely different; despite the fact that both endevours started at roughly the same time and has had limited success. 😉 Of course not, we have yet to meet them, or we are them... It wasn't presented as evidence... Nearly forgot the above error; In actual fact, we cannot be sure that the universe is infinite or finite, just that it is very big. Our observable universe certainly does have a finite size and age....13.83 billion years and 96 billion L/years in diameter You'll note, the universe isn't mentioned "the infinity of creation"... Even if the universe is finite, creation created it...
  5. "sigh" 🙄 If you say so. If you want further clarification, just ask; Just because you don't like my answer, doesn't magically make it dissappear... This reads like a rant from a religious zealot (my god/believe is better than your's), rather than a reassonable argument/critique for what is the greater good.
  6. Not if you don't want to see or read.
  7. And the time it takes for the artificial cuckoo to cuck...
  8. It depends on your definition of alien...
  9. Just this, for now... 😉
  10. I'd never judge someone who doesn't know, but I would challenge someone who thinks they do... It doesn't, when I say maybe read apathy.
  11. You can't sit on the fence on this question: If you say yes, you have to accept that you and your loved one's might be the victim. If you say no, you have to accept; there's a very small chance, you're wrong and an innocent dies. If you say maybe, you have to accept Guantanamo bay.
  12. Indeed +1. Just to add: A time pressure also comes with the chance that a well directed lie would both, run out the clock and save one from further pain; because they know that "we all agree" that torture after the fact is morally wrong. A strong motivation, to someone already radicalised, to kill two bird's with one stone...
  13. We're not alone, we have alien's on this planet that we've yet to meet. I think this was what Douglas Adams had in mind with his "total perspective vortex"
  14. No, it's not a question of how much science we do, it's a question of how much time have we got, to do it in? I believe it's certian, well 99.9%, that life exists in the universe; I'm far less certain that (intelligent) life exists in the solar system. 😆 Indeed, they didn't find that either. 🙂
  15. I think the two equate nicely. (1) Trying to create a star in a lab... (2) Finding an alien on another planet... We've been trying for year's to find life on Mars, a planet that's highly likely to have sustained life at some point in it's history and not even a hint of a corpse. Landing a terrestrial rover on Mars is childs play, compared to landing and deploying a submersible on Titan.
  16. (1)I have clarified that post: (2) Do no harm. (3/4) Like I've said "we lie for ourselves first", so ones greater good is always uppermost and if ones an 'addict' the lies are extreme. Some people routinely lie to themselves, even the none addict's among us, which is bound to skew one's view reality, and in turn, scambles ones view of what exacty is the greater good.
  17. Yes, in much the same way as it's right to torture them...
  18. The belief thingie is what we share, I can't belive we're all sick...
  19. The thing is, a child is only wise; when they grow up...
  20. The death of innocent, is a different question...
  21. You seem to have a different understanding of what is relevant...
  22. Why wouldn't it???
  23. And I've got a tooth-ache, I didn't take it out on you...
