Defended my thesis in front of the examination board. They were very pleased, found both the thesis and the presentation excellent, appreciated my direct and to-the-point answers to their questions ... Couldn't ask for more! 8 February is verdict day ...

Supervisors were happy with my thesis, said it could easily be a PhD dissertation to be defended on 21 January ...

Turn up - arrive at a conference.
Turn out - end up with a certain result.
Right? Check nr 2 here: https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/turn+out
So it turns out that my command of idioms in the English language is not so great. Or is that dictionary stating some unused dead form of the „turn out” phrase and it might turn out that I’m not in the wrong here? Does anybody use „I didn’t rurn out at that function on Sunday”?

Even though I have not met any of you guys in RL I dreamt yesterday that I was hanging out with a few members from the forum. Really strange dream. You guys looked like rockers but dressed business casual and the setting was an office space. I don't know why I'm sharing this haha

It is a good day today. We’ve managed along with my partner to finalize a deal which will let us breathe and gain the peace of mind which we need so very much after bad streaks in recent years.

My cousin Jeff Stewart died this morning. Jeff was more than a cousin, he was my brother in so many ways, the way only a real brother can be. One of the few people I have ever known who was basically a good person no matter what situation he found himself in. It's difficult to wrap my head around the fact a world can exist without Jeff in it.

Hello there. Would it be okay to write about 'kissing techniques,' as that is 'kosher?' I mean, I can keep it clean, but, I would like some feedback on these ways I have developed to see what others think?
I don't want to break any rules, so if the answer is no, I will understand. It is scientific as it embraces the sciences of biology and music, or, 'melodious mathematics.'
Thanks all the same.

„Who is America?” a new series on Showtime by Sasha Baron Cohen. I just saw 2 episodes and I think this might just be the answer to a divided America. Hilarious!

I want to "upgrade" my waking-up experience. Ideally, I'd love to have an alarm clock which I can plug into my computer and transfer custom alarm sounds to (which don't give me a heart attack), and which has two speakers so I can put one at both lateral ends of my bed.
My phone (iPhone 8) won't do it for two reasons: (1) I can't plug my speakers into this phone and make the alarm sound come from the speakers, (2) even if I got to accomplish this, every iPhone since the iPhone 7 has been infamous for not having a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which means that if I would use the lightning port to connect speakers to my phone, I couldn't charge it, unless I also buy an overexpensive wireless Qi charging thing.
Does someone know if this even exists?

Wow, Mars looks so beautiful tonight - like a giant orange star brightest in the night sky. It’s almost as though Mars is playing some twisted joke on Americans with that orange color.

Passed my exams with quite disappointing results. Ah well. Used to it. I'll do an extra effort for the last exam period in January before my 1.5 years of internships.
