Is there any difference as to how a DC magnetic wave effect the relative permeability of an alloy, compared to an AC magnetic wave?

What is the difference between AC and DC magnetic properties? And what should I be aware of when calculating penetration depth?

Praise without end for the go-ahead zeal Of whoever it was who invented the wheel! But never a word for the poor soul's sake Who thought ahead, and invented the brake. I've seen a lot of ink spilled (electrons manipulated?) about massless propulsion, and I realize that it could potentially be used to accelerate a ship "in reverse" to act as a brake, but how would its energy consumption stack up against the following idea, assuming the idea could even work? Given: Some form of drive has been developed that can get a ship up to a significant fraction of c Given: A power source sufficient for the job and materials that could withstand the rigors of use Given: Relativity te…

I was wondering about this: If you have a rod made of indestructible material. And you attach the one end to a motor and spin it. 1 sec per round. And you extend the rod so it reaches about 47.746.482m radius. What would happen to the rod? Ofc this contraption is in space

Hey guys, I would like to present this question to people whomever out there is highly knowledgeable in the field of acoustics: Given these facts: Soundwaves can travel through solids, air & liquids. Scientists can move objects through measuring wavelength and intensity. Energy can be produced and conducted through soundwaves. Enthusiasts have created small to midsize drones that can carry up to 50 lbs. along with supersized drones that lift a human. (See YouTube.com) Why doesn’t someone combine these technologies to do two things that would be great for protecting our troops in combat fields: Create supersized, solar powered drones that can fly 2,000 to …

I know that an electric current can create a magnetic field, but can it strengthen a magnet field of a piece of steel if I charge it? The piece of steel already has its own magnetic field, so if I charge it with, let's say a AA battery, will it strengthen the magnetic field? If I was using a metal detector, would it cause the metal detector to sense something stronger if the steel is charged?

What is the average concussive yield of a basic combustion chamber in average car. The PSI of the explosion if you will. If the same amount of gas is applied what is the maximum possible size/ shape of the chamber in the engine? Thank you.

Hello All )) Do we know, what is our material`s avarage frequency? Formula E=mc2 and energy is always wave motion, so we have to have own hertz, which is typical in our known world. We have different light-and radiowaves, but what is the maters frequency? In atoms and nucleons has own hz. If no one knows that, who wants join to group, to think.... It will change world and will explane a lot in quantum and there will be totally new science area.

So I don't have much of a background in physics, since I haven't had the opportunity to take it yet, but I'm really interested in theoretical FTL methods. So my question is- What would it take for some sort of spacecraft to accomplish the speed of light or faster. I understand and methods are probably theoretical I just don't understand the math involved just yet, so I'm hoping for some clarification.

Light consists of quanta(small packets of energy). Then how do we explain doppler effect of light the same way we do for sound? What is the valid explanation of light doppler effect which is consistent with the photon picture?

Some countless websites on Google claim that there is life beyond death but what does science have to say about this especially biology, chemistry and physics? Is life after death just wishful thinking or is there some science beyond this? If evolution is indeed true and humanity indeed evolved from more fundamental forms of life, does this mean that there is no life after death?

I'm a non science graduate and trying to understand Einstein's theories as a beginner. In the relativity theory, as I understand it, if a person went on a trip to space in a rocket that travelled close to the speed of light, when they returned to earth they would appear younger in relation to any observers, who in turn would have aged more. But what I don't get, is that you could look at it as though the earth was moving away from the space traveller at the same speed (relative velocities) - so who is really moving away from whom, and why does the space traveller age slower and not the observers in earth ?

So I am really interested in the idea of a floating land mass or land masses from anime and movie and I am generating if not drawing some ideas on how to make it a reality. Now keep in mind I want to keep this floating land mass perpetual, which I want it to stay floating for as long as possible, therefore I'm not completely rejecting but I think the idea of a hot air balloon might not work here since you would be ascending and descending based on the temperature. The helium balloon has a chance of breaking but if you manage to contain it as a permanent source let me know. My idea is on vacuum, with every liter of vaccum you can sustain a weight of 1.28 g according to Wik…

Nebular theory states that the solar system and other galaxies starts from a gas nebula. We all know that the nebular cloud has a uniform composition. Then how come for example in our solar system, every planet has different composition? Which it should be in the same composition? Feedbacks are very much appreciated.Thank you...

I always hear people talking about object falling into the black hole, possibly going through a wormhole and exiting in another universe etc. But isn't this fundamentally impossible? Black holes are completely solid, comprised of matter. Falling ''into'' a black hole is worse than saying falling into the earth from an airplane because the black hole is considerably more dense. (And this is another thing. I'm supposed to say the black hole is infinitely more dense than the earth because it has infinite density. In principle, this is very easy to understand because the space inside it is completely filled up with 0 cracks inside, therefore infinite density; But isn't this…

Time has an arrow.Like a river, it flows in just one direction which is towards the future. My question is,why time has an arrow towards the future. Are there unknown laws of nature which is responsible for this?Is entropy the right or exact answer?Or just pause a moment..... What if time itself controls the laws of nature. For example, time is real and an independent entity it controls all the laws of nature.A glass breaks but if the arrow of time is reversed it will back again into it's original shape.Meaning time can affect the laws of nature. So by this analogy,I have a question conclusion. Is the arrow of time an independent characteristic of time itself or there are …

Seems the effort is from a couple of years ago, but today, the news mentions an electrodynamic tether designed to generate electricity that will slow down space-based debris and fall to earth burning in the atmosphere. How is that meant to work ? ----> http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/videos/20161201140536917/

Hello to all. This is my first post in this forum I've been trying to plot some graphs on Mathematica but I have faced some troubles so far. I am working on this paper by Lattimer on binary systems: https://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0002203 I am trying to reproduce Figure 11 but something seems to go wrong. Here's what I have done so far: we set q=$\frac{m_{ns}}{M_{bh}}$ the ratio of the neutron star mass and the black hole mass. then we set the radius $\frac{R_{l}}{a} = 0.46\bigg(\frac{q}{1+q}\bigg)^{1/3} $ with a being the semi major axis that follows $a<2.8 \bigg[ \frac{M_1 M_2 (M_1+M_2)}{〖M^3_ {\odot}〗} \bigg]^{\frac{1}{4}} R_{…

This question is all about what happen to space around an object provided that the object is growing thru time.Did the space around The object expands or being occupied already by the object as the object grows on or the space inside it is generated or in other words the space is formed inside the object? Answers are very much appreciated.Clarifications with regards to my questions is very much accepted.Thank You and God Bless us all!!!
