Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

The complete space physics theory. 1) Earth is an absolute magnet as a whole: The earth does have two magnetic poles that act opposite to each other but it is this proposition that balances the magnetic field of the earth as a whole. Thus the effect of gravity that matters perceive is but the central attraction force of the entity, hence gravity waves is but proportional pull of the earth via the balancing out of the two opposite force. (Something about the physics of the entire universe is that usually two opposite force of equal potential energy exist along with an intermediary to balance the construct of space and matters.) 2) Nature of the laws of physi…

  2. What do you think of this concept? Let's go the next step deeper than molecular biology, down to the atomic level where the right numbers of the right atoms have to be found, sorted, selected, and precisely assembled for each complex part of each complex cell for every living entity. Just visualize what has to be happening to build even the first tiny root hair cell onto a newly planted carrot seed. How many carbon atoms have to be found in the soil and seed; how many hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, calcium, iron atoms, etc., etc., etc., have to be found, sorted, selected, and precisely placed for the construction of each complex part of that cell? The nucleus has to be…

So as I've mentioned before. If the cell divide with mitosis, it would produce an identical cell at the same age. Just like I am age 30, so my cell would go through mitosis and produce an identical cell of age 30. Now here is my question about aging, when a cell goes through meiosis it produces cells with chromosomes that are halved known as gametes(sperm and egg). When sperm and egg combines, it produces a zygote which is of age zero (something that will turn into a baby). Now how does a human of age 30 produces sperm of age zero with meiosis? Some suggests that telomere is the key to aging, but when sperm is produced, is the telomere completely restored? I'm pretty sure…

Keep in mind that DNA damage and DNA mutation are two different things when you are reading this post. So here I start another post based on jimmydasaint's request. The question revolves around DNA damage and aging again. About my speculation in simple term, when I was born my DNA is perfect with no DNA damage of aging because I start out as normal born baby. Now as time goes on my DNA starts to get lesions, not mutations, as I grow old, that's what the DNA damage theory says. Now this theory does not go into replication but I speculate that when I am 30 years old and my cell goes through mitosis, it produces an identical 30 years old cell, not baby cell, equally dama…

  5. I am not talking about augmentation, I am speaking of genetically altering the brain for better information processing and possibly different sensory perception. Whether it will be a supplement or a therapy,I have been reading a lot of neuroscience lately, I have a hypotheses and would love opinions about it as well as your ideas on this subject, my hypothesis - If I change the chemical balance in the brain will it be possible to enhance intelligence and perception, will the supplement that is involved be passed on to the offspring ? I will start off with the neurons, the chemical absorbed to produce consciousness and produce dreams is gulamate ,it is what gives the bra…

  6. I am quite upset. I had hoped that Near Death Experiences (where patients in hospitals have been resuscitated following cardiac arrest) would provide enough evidence to show that there is an ego/soul/self that leaves the body after heart stoppage and then returns during resuscitation. Unfortunately, there is a very small number of anecdotal accounts and the evidence is that these experiences occur in the brain. First the anecdotal evidence: http://iands.org/resources/media-resources/front-page-news/1060-aware-study-initial-results-are-published.html The sample number is one, and the evidence is not strong, but, if these findings are replicated ac…

  7. The Double Toroids and their Frequencies; Could there be three Double Toroids, best described as rings within rings, made of an unknown ferro-magnetic type material and with unknown axial supports that share the same centre positions physically in the vacuum, 565MLY from where Earth is now. The Rings are sized in proportion to Pi and the square root of Pi ie 3.1412 & 1.77245. The three sets of Toroids are of the following dimensions with the largest pair first; 3141.6M(Outer) with a 1772.45M(Inner), 3.1416M(Outer) & 1.77245M(Inner) and the smallest 0.0031416M(Outer) & 0.00177245M(Inner). The Toroids are all rotating, the Inner Toroids are rotating abou…

  10. I've lost sleep over this and I am hoping that someone here can help me to understand or at least tell me that I'm wrong about what I'm about to ask. General Relativity explains gravity as being the bending of space-time, and we know that the larger the mass of an object, and the greater it's density, the larger it's gravitational pull. But my theory is if you were to take the Earth, and enlarge it to the size of the sun, that it would not effect as much gravitational pull as the sun does. This goes into more detail below. We know that energy can be expressed in many forms, through wave forms, and light as primary examples. Photons, which make up gamma rays and ot…

  11. As a layperson, I get the impression that, with respect to explaining the nature of time dilation, there is some speculation that one can emphasize the more materialistic role that variations in mass(/gravitation) might play in certain situations rather than the more mathematical role that variations in spacetime plays: Ex. 1: Cordus Time Theory: "It is known from general relativity that a body experiences time dilation in any of the following three situations: relativistic velocity, or acceleration, or in a high gravitation field. According to the Cordus time theory, all these are situations of greater fabric density: the first because the fast-moving…

I have realised Einstein's dream of a theory of everything. On one hand I have a complete and coherent mathematical model that fully describes all forces in the universe uniting the macrocosm with the microcosm under a simple philosophical framework. On the other hand I have a complete and coherent understand of the underlying architecture of the universe that facilitates the above mathematical model, namely that the universe is a kind of cellular automata. Now prove to me that big bang and evolutionary theology is 'science' and I will share the theory of everything with you.

  13. So you got a brain constructed inside a computer. Your eyes can be designed to look inside the computer or outside at the real world possibly by hooking to a camera. You never get hungry because you control your senses. You can program your food by programming your palette. You can change your shape and form by transferring your consciousness to different brains in the virtual world. You construct your own memory. You model your own house. You design your own Physics. You might have old neighbors. Everything works like an MMORPG but it's free because energy would be free, the hardware might break but can be replaced, and there only requires maintenance from the outside. W…

I think the Big Bang was a reality. There is a mirror math function at the centre of the Universe. That which is reflected by the math function is something that causes space to vibrate. The expanding Universe is the result of reflection by the math function. The space vibrates and the cause of its vibration is within space itself. The math function at the centre of the Universe controls the extent of expansion of the Universe. Once all that is within space vibrates with a frequency equal to this math function, the Universe will collapse. I think I have explained it properly.

  15. So first I have a question in mind. Does the mobile company uses satellite or radio tower to transfer the wireless internet that we receive on our cell phone? Why can't they make it support laptop internet? And let's say I want to track my cell phone position at real time that would give me x and y coordinate and height, how accurate would it be? Can it be on the centimeter accuracy scale?

Hello, http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Worlds_most_sensitive_dark_matter_detector_completes_search_999.html I think the researchers are on the wrong way. The right way is https://sites.google.com/site/testsofphysicaltheories/English/dark-matter Rock and water are the best hiding place for dark matter. They have no internal energy source, so they emit no radiation. With earthly instruments they can not be detected. But they are much heavier than simple dust. Mathematical approximately in the solar neighborhood: The dark matter is to be concentrated in the spiral arms. We are in the almost empty room and therefore can not see dark matter. The right way of…

Hello. I recently found out there are some people who don't believe in moon landings. I decided to researched it to see why and now I'm finding myself in dout of them being real. One of the biggest, is why are there no stars in the picture? Another one I'm wondering about is why are there multiple light sources? Shouldn't the sun be the only light to make shadows? Here's a link to the main arguments http://listverse.com/2012/12/28/10-reasons-the-moon-landings-could-be-a-hoax/ Please please please explain these. Their making me dout the moon landings.

  19. Dark matter is just an ad hoc explanation for when our theories of gravitation don't create accurate predictions. Although it has already been proposed, and I did not come up with it, I agree with a modified form of Newtonian gravity where gravity is proportional to the inverse of the radius as opposed to the inverse square of the radius.

  20. Hello! Maybe I am missing the obvious, but it seems space and gravity are going in opposite directions; out and in, up and down. Gravity is the emergent principle of matter. What if space is the emergent principle of time? If gravity is what matter feels like, then space is what time looks like. A lot of things fall into place for me by looking at it this way. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, Eli

Ok I have a question about time travel and I'm no scientist so you guys are all a great deal smarter then I am but I do have some understanding of things so no need to dumb it right down for me. So hypothetically speaking let's assume the multiverse and universe never existed untill the Big Bang happened creating the universe but not a multiverse, as time passed intelligent live evolved to a point similar to where we are now and begun contemplating time travel they realise the paradox's that can occur but decide to time travel anyway believing they can avoid any paradox. However they fail and accidentally kill say a grandfather of there's before he has any children. Curre…

So here I am with some questions about consciousness. I have concluded that the brain's consciousness consists of analogue circuit thanks to help from Strange. Now I will say that with an experience I encountered I think, when some neuron in my brain is blocked off with electromagnetic radiation, I no longer have consciousness in those neurons. My question would be, is individual neuron contribute a part of the consciousness to the overall consciousness or does it simply amplify the consciousness.

  24. Hi everybody, I do not know who can help me? I have a very simple issue but, I think we need to solve it before to advance iI have created a new model but are not complete I do not who can help me? One issue it is with pi : 3.1415 , on geometry are ok but on physics i think i am not sure are wrong Becuse geometry are from the geocentric model and I think I am not sure something diferent , a universal answere, my point of view We can not use PI on high speed and low speeds, I do not know if you can imagine a circle going to 1/2 speed of light or slow speeds where circles deform. What are you think? Jose Leal

I was thinking a little in reference to the hologram theory, and I just wonder if anyone thought this idea is actually possible: presume the universe is a continuous hologram/program, set up and coded to form in a grid format. That grid would be what we call the "Fabric" of space. A black hole is a tear in that space (a temporary error in the scripting for that area of space.), caused by the over abundance of information (gravity) applied to the fabric. The script (being a continuously active script) later has to rewrite itself to fix the error (hawking radiation), causing the black hole to evaporate. If there happens to be more information applied to the area of the erro…
