Speculations
Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.
The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:
- Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
- Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
- Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.
The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Does anyone else think that gravity could essentially be a force created by the interaction between matter & anti-matter, similar to the force of positive and negative magnetism? Only in this case anti-matter creates an even force around a body of matter, repelling each other enough to keep the mass of matter in a Constant shape? Or, maybe they attract each other instead. In equal balance so one doesn't overwhelm the other. Maybe this creates time too. Sort of acting on the principle of a railgun. This might also help explain why time slows down the further you move away from a solid mass such as Earth. Hope I explained that clearly enough!

Here is some of my theories if you go to a small enough measure of time and space planck lengths and a nothingth of a second preons will not move but the next nothingth of existance next frame and its has teleported then if you apply that to the atoms in our bodies we should be teleporting and that means infinite G-Forces and theerefore only life that cant move and has no molecular movement wont die and if its body can withstand absolute 0 then it can live but it has to be still and would probobaly die and also this teleporting means that movement dosent exist and ist jsust atoms teleporting more length oveer the frames please find a way to deprove it in…

If space is finite, you can define a distance from yourself to the edge of the universe. If space is finite but expanding, this distance will grow larger over time. Spatial expansion is a scaling factor, not a speed. But if space is finite, a speed can be defined at which the edge is receding. Are these correct assumptions for a finite universe?

I'm new here, and that's because I created this account to post this. I need some feedback to see if this is at all possible. Is it possible that White Holes are the "back end" of black holes in other dimensions, sometimes losing mass to our dimension? Or maybe is it possible that it is disturbances between the matter from other dimensions, bringing small amounts of matter from other dimensions to ours? My last speculation is that White Holes are the conversion of Dark Matter to our type of matter, if Dark Matter isn't part of other dimensions. Thoughts?

Every elementary particle discovered is later found to consist of additional constituent particles, and there has never been a way for us to determine whether or not that continues indefinitely with particles being perpetually divisible. For a particle to always consist of another tier of constituent particles at a smaller scale would be tantamount to there not being such thing as 'particles', only waves and energy -- and matter could be described more generally as an elemental material 'essence' or cloud, with indefinite form. Chemistry, as a science, accurately and consistently describes interactions of elements; it does not detail a science for particles like t…

Is this what a neanderthal really looked like? What has to be the most unique representation of what neanderthals looked like! I ran across this last night. Basically what this guy is saying is that neanderthals are being misrepresented because we always reconstruct them using human paradigms and in reality they are better represented as more apelike. Neanderthal super predators: Evidently according to this guy the neanderthals shaped our evolution by preying on us! His video it like a horror movie but he does have some points. The idea that neanderthals looked like us is based un.. us! He reconstructs them using ape parameters instead of human. …

The true nature of space In order for my theory to take form it is vital that we first re-examine the true nature of space. I’m talking about space in a vacuum state, the stuff that exists outside of the life sustaining atmosphere of our earth. What is space exactly? If we were to remove all observable matter and radiation what would be left? Is space empty? To this last important and fundamental question my reply is simply, no. Space is not empty and far from it. To the naked eye earth’s air appears to be empty. It was not until we developed the tools and understanding to see things on magnified scales that we uncovered a vast array of matter of varying sizes. From…

After thorough analysis of " arithmetic "( adding pieces on computer ) and then doing two " pen/paper " integers I must conclude that gravity need to be calculated to the midpoint of gravity field instead of midpoint of mass . And therefore I say that the method need to be as I briefly describe in attachment . I dare call the formula g= M*Ti /( p-R^2/5p )^2 a new gravity lav although it is made for only spheres so far ( and far away masses ) I ask you to read and consider my postulate because it is at least for me the only way of handling gravity so " ends meet" .The direction and distance from where the "weight "can be measured is by my meaning same as physically right…

I had a look at the video, & am not impressed. If the observer on the platform was Einstein, & if he had all of the simple info & simple measurements & simple theory needed, then he would see or deduce every detail of what happed as the train passed, & he would deduce that the passenger (she) saw simultaneous flashes (as did he). Thusly, the train (thought) experiment (& thusly Einstein's SR) relies on having an observer that is ignorant of the critical measurements, or is too stupid. This probably makes this thought experiment & the resulting SR theory unique. I am ok with mathematical tricks, & weird models, if they give good answers,…

Photons are massless packets of energy flying around at the speed of light. Yet, if you were to trap a bunch of photons in a perfectly reflective box, the box would weigh more with the photons inside then if there were no photons inside. Mass truly is trapped energy. Hermann von Helmholtz (ca. 1821–1894) was a German physician and physicist who studied fluid dynamics years ago. Specifically, Helmholtz studied vortexes in fluids and thought of particles as "vortexes of energy". Joseph Larmor (ca. 1857–1942) was a physicist who viewed matter as spinning vortexes. Larmor laid the groundwork for mathematically modelling the concepts of spin, precession and spin coupling. …

Could it be possible that black holes are converting matter into dark matter? Maybe the conversion creates a type of dark energy jet as a byproduct?

Ran across this last night on YouTube...I thought some people here might find it entertaining. Right in the beginning I noticed something that's typical of the 'christian truther' movement when it shows the 'human evolution' picture with a big 'X' on it saying "NO FOSSIL RECORD FOUND"...They really don't know that we have all kinds of even well preserved skulls of hominids like Homo erectus which are undeniable. However one thing in the video I didn't really have an answer for...and that is starting at about 10:12 there is a rocket strapped with a camera that just stops in mid air with a 'thunk?'

Centrifugal Offset Relativistic Engine or CORE Drive. Imagine a children’s roundabout with a flat smooth base on some ice. Spin the roundabout and if it is balanced, even with no friction with the ice, it will stay in the same location. If it is not balanced, say, we put one child on it, then when we spin it, the rotational axis will describe a circle in the ice. The imbalance in weight in the system causes the whole roundabout to move along the line of the net centrifugal force. If we could keep the imbalance of weight in the same place then we could generate linear thrust. So now imagine the roundabout with a number of vertical wheels around the circumf…

How simple it would be to unify physics if massless energy could create mass. Imagine the big bang as quantum bubble spewing out fundamental energy particles that were massless. Inflation would be no problem as they could quantum leap faster than light. There would be no issue with gravity as it wouldn’t exist in a massless universe. As the fundamental energy particles began to cool they would bond together to form sub atomic particles and then atoms. Any fundamental energy particles that didn’t bond would form back ground radiation. The atomic forces and speeds of electrons, protons and neutrons would create ‘motion mass’, this would facilitate gravity and stars co…

(This thougt came in to my mind a while ago and i kept thinking about it and i want to know if i was wrong or this already is a accepted thing.) If there is a infinite possibility of parallel universes, so there must be a possibility of a uninverse that travelles to our reality and destroys us, and there must be a possibilty that some other beings from other realities that saves us from them. So my opinion is there is an endless possibility of us being alive or dead, we must be both dead and alive if that is the case, but we are not dead and alive at the same time so there is an observer that observes that exact moment, makes us escape our quantum state and makes us…

Scientists have recently claimed that the earliest 'modern humans' date back to 160,000-200,000 years ago... Here is the Smithsonian article. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/meet-the-contenders-for-earliest-modern-human-17801455/?no-ist Right off the bat, they get the date for Cro magnon wrong, "30,000 years ago"...When the oldest Cro magnon dates 45,000+ years ago. They are claiming that Omo 1 and 2 are the oldest, but this is quite a bold claim as they are impartial skulls and we can't even see what they really looked like. Secondly most researchers already agree that Omo 2 is too 'archaic' to be considered a 'modern human.' But I am going to di…

Bell's Inequality (in a simple, comprehensible form anyway) states that in a group of items that possess three properties, A, B, and C, the number of items that possess property A but not B plus the number of items that possess the property B but not C is greater or equal to the number of items that possess property A but not C. Assign A as Gold vs Silver, B as Large vs Tiny, C as Bright vs Dull. That leads to the trivial inequality, GTB+GTD+GLD+SLD>=GLD+GTD. Is this wrong?

Bender. swansont. Thanks for the link & comments. I need to read more on sub-atomic stuff (QM). Naturally i will be keeping a good eye out for anything that supports my existing beliefs, namely --- quanta = ok -- antiparticles = ok -- 3 types of quark or whatever = ok -- about half of our present 60 or so particles = not ok. Without wishing to start any off-topic discussion, i might add (just to show my state of mind) that i suspect that all particles have mass (& no other type of particle exists). And that photons are the smallest elementary particle (& have mass). And there are no neutrinos. That there is a sub-quantum aether (giving our field). That we…

I, personally, am well aware that Psychic phenomena exists and that there are, in fact, real psychics out there. If you do not believe then there is no need to participate in this discussion as it would be an impasse. Here is my questionnaire to see if you're qualified to be a part of this conversation. Do you believe that the mind is physical? (Are you a materialist?) If so, do you believe that the mind works just as the brain appears? (Neural networks, connections, etc.) If so, do you believe that information is reducible to changes in our environment? If so, do you believe that these changes in our environment are what determines the structure of the br…

Consider if only one particle existed, then space doesn't exists because space is something in which we can move from one point to another relative to some other particle but if only one particle existed we cannot move that particle or we can't say if its moving or stationary . But if we split that one particle into two or more space is created or space comes into existence space is nothing but a result of existence of matter From this we can say that space cannot exist without two or more particles and space is infinite. Your opinions.
