Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

E= m•lightsecond²/time It's the same formula. But we separate speed of light into time and distance. Since both things can pretty much be warped. PERSON A is moving away from PERSON B at 13,000 m/s I'm person B, a lightsecond for person A in his direction is 299,805,458m, in the opposite direction it's 299,779,458m. This proposal postulates that time is actually constant but perspectives can be bent based on energy difference. It's a minor change, but it solves a lot, I think... Am I allowed to do this?

  2. Alright, so I got the same beef with Einstein as Tesla did. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think relativity should be thrown out the window, it's great theory from a relativistic viewpoint. But I think once we begin to consider deep space travel, with near zero relativistic drag, I don't see why it can't be realized relative to Earth. Kind of like warp speed (PS That's a graph from a test where light goes faster than light). I believe the Pioneer Anomaly is better explained by breaking conservatively accepted science, and allowing the speed of light to be a variable! Similar to how you can solve E=mc² to be "c = sqrt( E / m )" when in deep space, where we are void of…

The above question has probably been hashed over many times here on the forum, I just wasn't lucky enough to be part of the hashing. But when a well known physicist or (scientist) says, Quote: our universe will simply slow down, freeze over and quit running or disburse into nothing, I wonder where he gets his information? It makes me kind of nervous. Why not, like the seasons, or water, coal and gas, as well as many other natural phenomena, can't our universe be: "CYCLIC"? What if dark matter, dark energy and some of the other dark sided questions we can't answer, are a part of this revolving door? Me not knowing, I am merly asking questions?

Hello all, I have 'exotic" stuff for evaluation. what is Your opinion about this theory of "dualistic biology" involving the "mirror matter"? Let's leave aside homeopaty stuff here, what is your opinion of biological organizm creating copies of itself into the "mirror matter"? These ideas are described here: http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ Especially interesting is : http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED02.htm and http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED04.htm Is it mere speculation/pseudoscience or something worthwhile,to your opinion? Thanks everybody

Hi all, Just an idea... Thinking about gravity not as a force but as an effect of motion. Here's my tentative veiw: Objects take up the space in which they exist, what if they also "remove" that space? The effect we see as gravity is actually the space around the object pouring into the vacuum created by the object removing/displacing the space (matter destroys space) Of course, space is expanding so the anihilated space is not missed

  7. Space is now expanding at and accelerating rate (cf dark energy) If we extrapolate backwards, we could conclude there was a big bang. If we observe, we can only see signs of inflation from just after this moment (cf Inflation theory, CMBR.) Therefore we cannot say for certain there was a big bang. So it's equally possible that the universe's default state is inflation. Matter and energy are fueled/produced by the expansion of space: Space produces virtual particles (VP) (cf uncertainty principle) As the volume of space increases the probability that more VP's will be produced increases. When space is in its default state of inflation every frame of re…

As quantum physics speculation about illusion of matter, I come with some thinking of,matter is illusion created by event(time) by the energy vibration (I am not scientist only curious person, pls pardon any miss conception). So if any one could travel or aware of faster than light(time) so the one will out of the event it self, and there will be no matter, time and space. You will not in the event(time). So you cannot go back or forward in that event(time). because your wil be absolute without time just energy.and you will not feeling being exist. Time is an illusion of different absolute condition being compare each other. I realize that this is very2 …

This is an idea I had quite recently. I know it needs work, and I would've liked to have diagrams of what I mean exactly when I say a certain thing. But here is my first draft. Jan. 2, 2012 This theory was developed with these laws in mind: 1. At the beginning and end of all things, there must be nothing. 2. In order to compare something to isolate its true nature, something that has no prior characteristic must be used. 3. These characteristics are relationships the object in question has with something else. 4. If something has no relationship to any other, it does not exist and is nothing. The universe is only as big as there is another landmar…

I've added this to one of the locked sticky threads, but have reproduced it here for discussion. ——————— It's human nature to categorize people, and if you're introducing a new subject for discussion — some new, possibly untested idea that is not part of the standard curriculum of science — you don't want to be classified as a crackpot. Here is some the behavior you must avoid. 1. Vocabulary Crackpots misuse terminology, especially terms like theory, or dogma. You don't want to be the one who proclaims "it's only a theory" or "you're being dogmatic" and make it clear you don't know the definitions of the words. Unless your posts actually get redacted,…

Powley's principle seems 2 suggest, for me at least, that all the atoms and all the energy was created or established at the moment of the big bounce or if you will the big inflation. It suggests that all the atoms in the universe was created at this point. What if the atom is accreted around quarks, the energy condenses space/time by means of standing waves, because space/time is in a very weak but generally positive ground state*, thus stretching space/time and creating gravity. *For me space/time is in a generally positive ground state but look microscopicaly and it's a seething mass of changing states going from positive to negative. Allowing Durac's equat…

  15. Hello, I am trying to find out something about Earth and Uranus, it appears that they may be in phase some how in relation to precession. I have been experimenting with figures and differential calculus in relation to the dates of 1776 2012 and 2029, now these dates were given by an online year converter, I used a birth date to get these figures and was trying to use winter solstice as a starting period only... I am seeing this precession here with the year 2012. This year of 2012 is also used as the denominator or delta x, and yes I am trying to find a relation to the Maya End Date Calender here. Please note what I am also trying to do is get the derivative fo…

This is really speculative. So speculative that it's probably going to piss people off even though it's in the Speculation section. Likewise, I have no idea how to test it, so it's not scientific. But whatever... First, some backgorund info. In pair production, two photons (chargeless) can create an electron (negative charge) and a positron (positive charge), so the charges cancel out, and the whole system is neutral. Likewise, if there is extra energy (more energy than the rest mass of the particles) it becomes kinetic energy after pair production, and the electron and positron move in opposite directions--therefor the motion also cancels out. I had the i…

Hello, I was wondering something that I have pondered on for some time now it is here: Pi Ratio Simply Squared As G 3.14^2 = 9.8596 9.8596 degree = 0.172082483 radian 9.8596 degree = 0.027387778 revolution Could pi ratio squared really be confused as gravity?? Could this be what that Higgs Fields is all about, in relation to pi ratio empty space and the Higgs Bosson?? And mostly, can this explain the constant of proportionality in relation to Issac Newtons' F= G*m1 m1/r squared? I never really did understand why pi ratio is used in some of the most rigorousness of equations used in this study, and maybe this can bring some light on m…

  20. "Time dilation" and "space contraction" are the important deductions from Einstein's special relativity(SR), based on "the principle of constant speed of light in vacuum" and the observation of moving objects in his thought experiment. Actually, Einstein's thought experiment is one kind of observation of length for a moving object with an invariable velocity, and there are many methods for us to be selected to measure the length of a moving object. for an experimental measurement, the errors caused by the method and equipment must be considered and be applied to correct the results. Lorentz's transformation from SR, which is only satisfied …

As long as they have been using the Hubble and VLBA/ VLBI (long baseline radio telescopes) they have been seeing at the farthest distances very old appearing galaxies like we can find in our local galactic neighborhood. I expect when the James Webb goes up they will also see the same thing. It has always seemed likely to me that a number of the furthest of…

The one thing I have learned on this forum is, you have to get the question right. My first attempt at this was, I'm afraid a disaster. This was due to my lack of eloquence and naivety (on this forum). So having a weeks experience, here goes. I think matter is, fundamentaly made up of an energy/spacetime interaction*. For me this goes along way to explaining our universe. E=MC^2, matter anihilation when the energy is released, the reason gravity is so weak compared to the other forces and gravity itself*. Now this I'm not clever enough to be sure but it seems to comply with durac's equation. I'm clearly no einstien, consequently I have no math to back up this hypothe…

  25. There is a proof of the singular nature of black holes, but it is being ignored. This proof was mentioned in an old paper by Michael Rowan Robinson. It can be found in ArXiv from after 1998. I ran across it by accident and I do not remember the title or year of publicatiion. I e-mailed him to ask if he could remember the paper where he made the comment. In his comment, he said that it has been suggested that black holes, precisely and only because they are relativistic singularities, must possess an hyperbolic gravitational field. A singularity, as a single point mass with infinite density, must have a gravitational field that also tends to infinity as one approaches …
