Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  1. Global Warming (technology [cars etc.]) disrupted a well-synchronized ecosystem. The ecosystem includes atmosphere and ocean. This slowed down the earth's core, thus weakening the magnetic field & cutting apart the magnetosphere. The ozone layer isn't healing, but rather is collecting in pressure gradients across the globe (maybe?) Not gravity (pressure). such as teh beach. A distinctively different atmosphere can't focus out so many cosmic rays: weakened magnetic field & global warming. Therefore, (also because there's much less refraction than there would be) harsher wavelengths or radiation is hitting the ground (us). This would explain why it feel…

In contrast to the approach of nuclei under thermal conditions, the interacting nuclei are maximally immobilised and are held near the equilibrium position not by a magnetic field, but electrostatically, while thin Coulomb barriers are overcome during quantum vibrations of the nuclei. The approach of nuclei to the minimum distances to (10^(-13) m) becomes possible due to the using of recent discoveries in the field of composite dielectric materials (SDM, super dielectric materials). Description of the proposed processes The essence of proposed method is the creating of conditions for maximum approaching of nuclei and hold it approached as long as possible. The m…

This is completely different than the Rumpelstiltskin theory! It started as that but it evolved into this. I would like to make a clear point that it has evolved. Here is the equation: A=±(O*C) A is the spectrum, or the value, which can be positive or negative ± is whether the equation is positive or negative. C is the Campbell Change Variable. It is determined by the number of particles (an atom counts as one) in 100 picometers from the isotope/atom. It also adds an invisible t at the end O is the original A value. See, with the invisible t the C, the equation repeats itself over and over again. The O is the A from the last cycle. Now that y…

  5. Hello My name is Matthew, for the last 20 years I have been pondering on the areas of science and mathematics and about 2-3 years ago I was pondering on the fundamentals of the mathematical system for the number base's specifically the representation of the decimal or the null factor it represents because in a lot of mathematics I see it representing things that are clearly observable but are represented with a null number similar to 0 in base 10 mathematics also, so for a few days I pondered on this for a while and I kept thinking that 0 cant exist because its a null number representing infinity pretty much but to be able to write the number 1 next to it it has to h…

  6. Hello, my name is Grayson. Anyone coming from the Rumpelstiltskin theory should read this. I have created a lot of chaos with my Rumpelstiltskin theory. Which is why I renamed it to the atomic adaptation theory. The theory states that atoms tend to adapt to their environment. That is literally it. The whole thing started in a topic called "What draws the line at life?" That didn't go so well. The second was the Rumpelstiltskin theory where I explained how atoms are sort of "Alive" Well this theoy has the same methematical formula as the rumpelstiltskin theory, but it is just a new name. Here is the formula you have been waiting for: A(t)=A(o)*c t A(t) or a of t …

  7. Started by Photon Guy,

Sometimes in science fiction they have planets that have very strong gravity and as a result the people from such planets are really strong. For instance, people from a planet that has twice the earth's gravity would be able to perform tremendous feats of strength while on Earth or while on any planet or environment that has gravity around the same level as earth's gravity, able to bend steel bars and lift cars and so forth. Im wondering though just how realistic that would be in real science. Let's say Earth did have twice the gravity, would we all evolve to be super strong? Or is that just in science fiction and not in real science?

  8. This hypothesis is based on personal experience and reflection. The hypothesis is thus: Bipolar disorder is caused by an overdeveloped affect of interest-excitement. This leads to habits which others find annoying / odd (stuttering, interruptions, etc.), which in turn leads to social rejection and depression. The individual learns to cope, developing a more reserved, euthymic presentation. The cycle repeats as the individual gains self-esteem and attempts to express themselves again. The individual will also be more prone to depression than other individuals due to low self-esteem. For discussion: are there any logical flaws that you can note in this hypothesis?…

Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forum but am looking forward to engaging with people who are also interested in brainstorming for solutions. And another thing I've been having a hard time with, what happens when you actually come across a potentially world fixing/changing solution but don't have the funds or resources to make it happen? This has been a problem for me recently. Anyways, I have had an idea that could potentially have a dramatically beneficial cooling impact on the Climate, It would be an atmosphere lamp; located on either pole. I've tried this before a few times on a small scale and it has already prevented multiple apocalyptic warm…

  10. All matter gravitate towards the Rest of the Matter in the Universe and moves towards the Gravitational Force Center of the Universe. At this Center the Mass of the matter becomes zero as it comes to a dead stop but gets pulled apart gravitationally by the Rest of the Matter and gets decimated. This is similar to the Big Bang Process most Scientists are familiar with but a Continuous Bang Process which goes on decimating every matter reaching there. At an interval of One Universal Time Unit [Average] every matter will be at the Center and it is Equality of Matter. You, me and every Particle within us and every bit of matter on Earth, Space, Sun, Moon and e…

During this dream I was in a science college like class room and the professor was explaining how to create a frequency that emits a shape in its self side by side . The way to form this number is to find 2 sets of numbers the factor of the shapes side and cross section values and the height and length of the 2 frequancys being edited at the same time. He said take the highest common denominator and the lowest common numerator for both them average them togeather to get the proper frequancy to to side by side shape frquancy.

  12. In the Double Slit experiment, there is an interesting approach known as the Onnon Theory, which suggests considering the photon or electron as stationary while treating the entire system as moving. According to this philosophical theory, the universe is composed of infinite dimensions, and everything in the universe can be understood as the motion of a single particle. The Onnon Theory is based on three fundamental assumptions: Assumption: The universe has infinite dimensions, and each dimension consists of the surfaces of objects in higher dimensions and the spaces between these objects. For instance, the surface of four-dimensional objects is three-dimensiona…

  13. Hierarchical Structure of the Cosmos: Black Holes as Portals to Subquantum Dimensions Abstract: This piece delves into a theory proposing that our universe experiences cycles of growth, galaxy development, and eventual contraction via black holes. This process births subquantum universes. These interconnected universes, often labeled as "parallel," are nested within one another. Each primary universe can spawn numerous smaller, slower-paced sub-universes. Introduction: Throughout epochs, humanity has been captivated by the vastness of the universe and its countless galaxies. Observations of these celestial bodies reveal patterns, suggesting a repetitive and profou…

  15. Hello , The present theory explores the behavior of the expression of relative mass M(v) with respect to the speed of light (v=c)\ and suggests that dark matter or dark energy could be composed of ordinary particles with mass that have reached the speed of light. The theory delves into a mathematical analysis of the series representing the relative mass function, M(v), and discusses its divergence at v=c, drawing parallels with the regularization of the Casimir effect using the Riemann zeta function, which gives M(c)=-M(0) at v=c. It proposes the existence of a natural phenomenon that accelerates ordinary matter with mass to the speed of light and transforms it…

  16. Is it permissible to use infinity(infinity mass or infinity energy), which is not defined in physics, to assume the impossibility of traveling at the speed of light? Here is an example of using regularization via the $ zeta$ function in the Casimir effect: Mathematical calculations lead to the famous divergent series $1+2+3+\ldots=+\infty$. However, the physical results do not correspond to infinite values for the energy of the moving plates. To resolve this issue, we applied regularization through the Riemann zeta function. Eventually, we obtain a finite value of $-1/2$ for the divergent series $1+2+3+…$, and this result provides a good explana…

  18. Xiulin Ruan, a professor of mechanical engineering at Purdue University, and his students came up with a white paint that reflects 98.1 percent of solar radiation. The white paint actually emits more infrared heat than it absorbs. For example, previous experiments showed this paint cooling a surface by 8 degrees Fahrenheit versus the surroundings under noon sunlight. At night, the ultra-white material can keep things 19 degrees Fahrenheit cooler. Wouldn't this functionally be a form of Maxwell's Demon?

Disclaimer: (0. (Some people might think,) What goes up must come down. It’s called the 0th(=zero_th) law because he(=Newton) didN’T invent it. Joke aside. ..But (otherwise) here..) (To be consistent, & thus rebose.) Preparation: The (average_)distance da divided by the (average_)time ta is the average_speed va=da/ta. (I have to (repeatedly) say…

  21. I do understand that most likely, it will not work, but it'll be fun to learn, I hope. I haven't worked out a lot of details or bugs yet, but here it is: Okay, we have two rotating masses of equal weight. Mass #1 is on one side, and mass #2 is on the opposite side at an equal distance, so there should be no oscillating. What connects them is a non-magnetic cylinder-shaped rod. Mass #1 is possibly made up of batteries, etc. that surround the rod. Mass #2 is made up of a bunch of somewhat skinny, ring electromagnets, and each one has a hole through the middle. The connecting rod goes through the magnet holes and is attached to the magnet that is furthest out. At an equ…

The singularity is a gravitational wave with no upwards limit in frequency. Consequently, we measure the age of the Universe to be 13.8 billion years, and also the past is infinite. This is the simple essence of wave-particle duality. We observe what appears to be a point in space, and any point in space we observe can be traced back to the original singularity. The point is what we conceive of in relation to our observation, and this is what we measure. The singularity is the objective reality underlying all observational experience.

What happens if, instead of considering the singularity as a "point", we consider it as a gravitational wave with no upwards limit to its frequency? In this understanding although the Universe appears to expand from a point, the expansion of the Universe and thus the progression of time is explained in terms of a pervasive gravitational wave in spacetime with no upwards or downwards limit to its frequency. At a certain frequency, this wave due to the limitations of human observation would be indistinguishable from a point, but nevertheless capable of increasing in frequency to no end. The singularity is a wave of ultra-high frequency that underlies all of s…

  25. A recent paper states the real pseudoscience is exactly those unperceivable things named with 'dark'. Throwing something into the unknown part of reality for solving the theoretical problem is not the real rigorous science. This study argues that It is time, from a much more general view, to consider the common defects in the principle behind all the previous measure methods or physical laws summarized by the predecessors rather than keep adding new theories or new phenomena for amending the old cracks. Otherwise, the development of science will become bogged down in mud and also lead all people not to the real nature of reality but to a totally strange magic one. …
