Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

  1. Quarks (no spatial extension) experience all 3 fundamental forces plus have a fractional electric charge⚡and that's why protons and neutrons (spatial extension) have electrons orbiting around them. In Geometry any new dimension has to contain within it all previous dimensions. This holds true with it being impossible for protons and neutrons (spatial extension) to exist without subatomically containing within themselves quarks (no spatial extension). "Something (spatial extension) from Nothing (no spatial extension)".

Has anyone noticed the 2 large asteroid/meteor strikes north and south of South America? Looks like one took out a land bridge. If you trace the strikes and imagine the tsunami wave sand.... look at North Africa, The Southern tip of Africa, and Australia. Look at the color of that sand! So many questions here! Thank you

  3. I am reaching out as a passionate enthusiast of theoretical physics with a deep curiosity about the fabric of our universe. Premise: My hypothesis is centered around the possibility that spacetime could undergo dramatic ruptures under conditions where an immense mass is concentrated into a scale as small as the classical electron radius, similar to singularity points in black holes. I am particularly fascinated by the idea that such spacetime ruptures could potentially trigger localized big bang-like events on the 'other side' of these singularities. Exploratory Thoughts: - Using the Schwarzschild and Kerr metrics, I've theorized how spacetime might react …

Is anyone ready to give up on the nonsensical big bang B.S, yet (bad science , that is) ???? If not now, when? It's obvious, or it should be, that this theory's notion of some primeval atom from which everything (billions of galaxies) sprang forth in a split second is completely illogical and most of us on the outside of science looking in are getting a little tired of this big bang B.S. It's time to move on, salvage what you can and move on. Find something to replace primeval atom as the beginning. I entered my hypothesis here and was told in no uncertain terms no one here wants to hear it; that your theory might be wrong at it's core. We will never know until the …

  5. This comment opened the door for me. Mind is my favourite subject. I am entirely in agreement with the above indicated statement. If you assume, as I do (backed by evidence), that there are varying degrees of intelligence (a substrate of mind for me) in all living things, then it follows the there is only one kind of evolution; guided evolution; not the one guided by a supreme being, but by intelligence (primitive at first in small living things) that gives a bit of vision back to the blind watchmaker. However, intelligence is only a single piece (important one though) in the complex puzzle that is evolution. Note: If the conversation remains on non-living thin…

  6. You are looking at photons right now in reading this. Now just take it for granted that I entangled one of them. How would you tell it apart from the other trillions of photons, and then to prove entanglement you need to measure it which first means isolating the entangled proton, then measuring it, which would invoke Heisenberg's indeterminacy principle making an accurate measurement if not impossible, at least always suspect. Note, I am not arguing that entanglement happens, just wondering how one would find a proton that is entangled say a million miles away?

(apparently) dead?; or stressy & still alive. Why would the Babylonians use 60 divisions, e.g. for minutes & seconds; & (=but) then (suddenly, break that pattern, &) divide the day into (only) 24 hours? That does NOT make sense (to me), unless there was something important about (also) 60 hours. 1. E.g. Anthro(a)pology? Rising (ruffly) on the 3rd day, apparent death. Recommendations exist nowadays to delay burials 1..2 days to prevent being buried alive. https://www.amboss.com/us/knowledge/death/) (PS: But accidents still happen.) 2. 8. First I want to say that I believe women have always been above, better than and healthier than men because evolution gave them 90% of everything needed to continue the Human Species well into the future. A little DNA from a man and they are equipped to do almost all the rest. Nature would not have given women these responsibilities if they were not capable of fulfilling them. The problem has always been mens beliefs and desire to dominate everyone around them. The feminist movement brought some of this to the world's attention and has made things better for women in many ways but is it possible that the immediate changes to the relationship between mother and child due t…

  10. Or do black holes radiate Hawking radiation and, in the process, evaporate entirely yielding the information paradox. Because both are written down and claimed as fact and the only real paradox is that both can't be true yet both are or were claimed as fact.

Logic would supposedly take us to a consistent theory that can avoid contradictions altogether. However, in light that logic has been used as a mode of thinking for thousands of years, but scientists are still searching for a Grand Unified Theory, it is a responsible conclusion that logic inference consistently ends up with contradiction with no exception so far. Since, on the one hand, logic aims to avoid contradiction, and on the other hand, reality says that logic, on the contrary, always leads to contradiction, logic does not make sense and therefore is illogical. Science makes a name for itself by demonstrating its powerful capability of explaining various ph…

Lots of silly crap is asserted on various platforms online but one of the weirdest is the idea that there is currently a war being fought across time. Of course various bits of "evidence" is asserted but... Let us for a moment participate in a thought experiment. Let's say we want to know if a time war is being fought, how would/could we know? If a time traveler went back in time and changed something, no matter his motivation, could we know? Or, in my estimation most likely, would the time changes be completely undetectable by us, the equivalent of non combatants? If someone went back in time and changed history, imho, we would never know, no matter how viole…

Here I am back again hoping for constructive feedback. I took criticism from the last post to heart, so this article is a little heavier on the math side. Enjoy! The article assumes photons are responsible for gravity in lighter objects like the sun (while in heavier objects, gravity waves or other mechanisms take over that role). The idea is losely based on an unsuccessful unified field theory which tried to combine electromagnetism with gravitation, but was too complicated (5 dimensional fields and such). It instead is based on the assumption (inspired by Maxwell) that all fields are (caused by) waves (or particles) moving around and that photons don't …

  14. Humanity has been puzzled by gravity for millennia. It is the strangest and the most significant of all the known forces in the universe. Gravity is still a mystery and the exact mechanism and nature are still unknown. I will be examining the mysteries of gravity, antimatter, black hole, and gravitational lensing today by reflecting on Nikola Tesla's quote, "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration". Space, Energy, and Matter Everything in the cosmos is composed of no more than energy. Energy is just a term to describe a capacity to do things and is commonly measured as frequency. On the other h…

  15. Since this is the Speculations forum, I thought I might broach something speculative and quite unsubstantiated. One thing I noticed, and probably everyone else, that Earth appears to be the only place in the currently known universe to harbour life. If we were to put this in to an index, Earth = 8 billion + plant life + animal life. Quite a high number. But for stars index = 0.0. Plus all other discovered planets index = 0.0 We are like a massive black hole with everything else relatively insignificant in terms of a life index. Of course we wouldn't survive without the sun.... On another note, our quest is to discover life somewhere else in the…

  16. Spacetime is 2+2 dimensional corresponding to the two approximate inverse square laws. A four velocity is a coordinate transformation to 2D. In Special Relativity the y and z coordinates are not contracted. That is the electric charge doesn’t contract Spacetime. Gravity doesn’t affect electric charge. Gravity moves electron mass, electron mass moves electron charge. Charge isn’t mass or energy. The mathematics of (t,x) & (y,z) is 2D planes and 2D spheres. This corresponds to Kepler’s ellipses (planes) and Coulomb’s outer surfaces (spheres). General Relativity is also split into 2+2 dimensions. The Schwarzchild Metric doesn’t contract the t…

  18. The ebb and flow is the result of the rotation of the Earth and the gyres. Tides are not formed along the entire coast of the seas and oceans, but only on those coasts where there is a high speed of currents. And the higher the speed of currents along the coast, the higher the amplitude of the tidal wave. On those coasts where the speed of currents is 0 km / h, the amplitude of the tides is also 0 meters. The waters of the lakes, seas and oceans of the northern hemisphere rotate counterclockwise, and the waters of the southern hemisphere rotate clockwise, forming cyclonic gyres. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocean_gyre And everything that rotates, including th…

My name is Everett, and I have a hypothesis I’d like to share with you. By you, I mean everyone who I can possibly reach. I intend to send this message out to a wide array of different forums and individuals. My hypothesis consists of a new idea regarding the relationship between space-time and matter. It first occurred to me several years ago, when I was watching a video documentary about black holes. I was considering the popular mystery of what happens to matter when it is drawn into the incredible gravitational conditions of a singularity. I was approaching this question in a very casual and simplistic way, so I thought of it like this: Gravity tends to crush things t…

For those that do not know about the Alcubierre warp drive I have a Wikipedia link below to show you. Wikipedia page for the warp drive Now that we have that out of the way, we can move on to my variation. For the short story, it uses relativity of position to make an illusion of anti-gravity even though it is actually just gravity. Now for the long story. This warp drive is on a railroad, so it used massive spinning rings to warp spacetime around the drive and oppose the force at the front pushing it with gravity. So, I will show you a picture of the normal warp drive and how it works, and you can imagine this idea. So, as you can see, the front of t…

I put this in speculations because it is a developing theory. I call this theory the Vacuum energy-fluid theory. This is because what the theory states is that the vacuum energy is a fluid and does not have the same amount of energy everywhere, or energy density. For those who do not know what the vacuum energy is, I have a link below. Wikipedia page for vacuum energy Now that we have that over, we can get onto the theories. The mathematical equations state this: v = \frac{h}{m\cdot x} E = \frac{c^2h}{vx} (I do not know if LaTex works on this website, so if it does not show up, I will put a link for a latex editor that you can copy and paste instea…
