Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

How many different ways can someone illustrate geodesics. Can a wavy line be used to illustrate a geodesic?

It's just me or Dark matter look similar to the Electron cloud? Can it be that all known effects are related not to the "hidden mass" but to some astronomical caliber quantum-like effect of possibilities similar to the Atom structure.

  3. I have some knowledge of quantum mechanics, game theory and ethology, and I think that these sciences can be united into one. The ethology and game theory are nice new sciences which answer many philosophycal questions now: what is the Good and Evil, how did they appear in the evolution, and how do they interact. I can write this later. Roger Penrose has suggested that quantum effects are working in the nervous system of living organisms. Currently there is some experimental evidence in favour of this hypothesis: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/2399-6528/ac94be https://www.mdpi.com/2624-960X/3/1/6 https://royalsocietypublishing.o…

  4. 've been experiencing recurring dreams where I know I'm dreaming, but I feel stuck in my room, trying to escape. Every time I reach the door, I reset back to my bed, creating an endless loop. It feels like a combination of sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming, where I consciously try to escape, but I’m unable to break the cycle. In these dreams, it seems like there are multiple versions of myself, all trying to escape at once, but we all end up stuck in the same loop. This dream experience reminds me of concepts like Schrödinger's Cat experiment, where multiple possibilities exist at once until one is observed. Similarly, in my dream, it feels like I’m trapped in a sta…

This Theory (link removed), is one I have devised which could possibly help to better explain the geometry and behaviour of Black Holes, as well as also acting as the potential bridge we have all been looking for which finally relates Quantum Mechanics with Relativity.. But of course, it is 'Mostly' Theoretical, and although it aligns with most-all of the widely 'proven'/'accepted' theories and laws in physics as of yet, it still requires your willingness to 'consider' its plausibility (i.e. open your mind to 'new' ideas, and not limit it to 'current beliefs')..

Basically, I believe that if all laws and social institutions disappeared, that people would potentially behave in much more barbaric ways than they do in everyday life. Not necessarily everyone, but many would, and there is ample evidence that "ordinary" people can act in uncivilized ways under specific circumstances. This is why I don't totally buy into atheist arguments that, unlike theists, they don't do "good out of fear", because the reality is that many secular institutions, such as the laws of one's nation or state, play a role in how they behave, even if they take it for granted. If there was no perceived consequence for murder, people would be more likely t…

Hi everyone... I have an interesting test to do. If given to you a^p, where p and a are available from 3 to infinity( although this set of numbers actually started from 0 but I removed them for some reasons), what is the special number(x) when you subtract from a, some composite numbers of a's reminder are always known? Here's an example. Pick any number for a,X and p. For this test I choose 8 for a, 11 for p and 31 for X so the structure looks like this, (8^11)-31=8,589,934,561. Can you guess the composite numbers for 8,589,934,561 without factorization? Some of its composite numbers are 13 and 660,764,197. By using X =31, test X for every available number for…

  8. Hello. Same as some sporadic images obtained from orbiting crews, is there something sourced by ISS, Hubbel, Webb... and similar telescopes out there ? Are images from these telescopes recorded and kept 24/7 ? Images borrowed from the net, like example time stamp after 7:00 : ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8NptJVwNL4

  9. It was staring us in the face all along, since Galileo's days, folks. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES. THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY. THAT. The sun and the moon, when viewed from earth, appear to the human eye, EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE.....DESPITE BEING OF DIFFERENT SIZES AND DISTANCES FROM THE EARTH? Like....what natural law in the Grand Scheme of things, mandated that 'the sun and the moon must necessarily appear the same size, down to a pixel, to the human eye, when viewed from earth'? Is there such a law in the science journals? Would be funny if there was. You see what I mean? Why are the sun and the moon apparantly the same size? BE…

  10. I would like to discuss the hypothesis. Hypothesis: the principle of causality is applied separately and independently for each different inertial reference frame (IFR). Inertial reference frames are considered different if they have a non-zero relative velocity. We consider only inertial reference frames. For space-time with gravity, we consider local inertial reference frames. Independent application of the causality principle for different IFRs means that events in different IFRs may differ. The events here are events described by the causality principle, not events in special relativity. The difference in events here is not related to the difference in …

Let´s try and see the issue from a natural philosophical point of view like the old Greek - and forget all about theoretical physics! A constant echo from the initial creation of the Universe is when we come out of a deep sleep´s nothing (vacuum) every time we wake up to a new 24-hours. Free-will´s ideas and thaughts has to come out of nothing (vacuum) otherwise they are not free and they are not new - they will have a pre-identity! We go contantly in and out of nothing, where our memory disappear in nothing, otherwise thoughts and ideas will pile- up in a total chaos. Yes, the Universe can very well be created out of vacuum or rather nothing - otherwise it will simply n…

Twin and Ladder paradoxes are real contradictions. Some scientists believe the twin paradox can be resolved within the standard framework of SR: the traveling twin's trajectory involves two different inertial frames, one for the outbound journey and one for the inbound journey. Some of them suggest that the twin on the rocket is undergoing acceleration, which makes him a non-inertial observer. In both views, they think there is no symmetry between the space-time paths of the twins. Therefore, they reject this as a real logical contradiction. These ideas tried to reject the twin paradox as they convert it to a non-symmetrical system, but they intermittently neglect …

Can these statements be demonstrated incorrect? 1- "... a considerable part of Darwinism is not of the nature of an empirical theory, but is a logical truism" - Karl R. Without the input of new genes, there is no evidence that natural selection does either." b)"The notion that mutation and recombination can compose new genes is implausible. There is scant evidence that mutation and recombination can compose functio…

  14. Hello everyone. It has been more than a century since the foundations of the Plate Tectonics theory were laid. Yet, to this day, there is no all inclusive model of it. These days, even enthusiast can produce computer generated models of highly complex mechanisms. Car engines, Jet engines, Turbines and prototypes of any kind. So why is it that no one can produce 3d model of the Plate Tectonics mechanism? If you tried to make one you would immediately run into a very unexpected problem - There is no theory! As i understand, there is a certain limit to file size i can upload here. for that reason only and with your permission i will provide the link…

  15. So if we have the flux made up of SQEP’s and a reasonance particular to that flux type. There would be quite a lot of SQEP’s and their individul resonances, perhaps these may all be classed as a cluster of SQEP’s and their resonance. Maybe we could make recipes for different things, ailments, transport, Film, technology, plants… Maybe the cluster is what we should try and detect as it would be a stronger signal/hum. A cluster of air/table fluxes if you will or a cluster of branch/tree trunk or really whatever you can think of. Maybe its the clusters that are key after the formation of the flux initially. Perhaps clusters then go on to eventually f…

    ### Introduction In the ever-evolving landscape of scientific inquiry, the fusion of diverse disciplines often leads to groundbreaking discoveries. One such innovative concept is "physics_logic," which seeks to integrate the principles of physics with the structured reasoning of logic. This proposal aims to explore the potential of physics_logic as a new paradigm that can bridge the gap between traditional physics and logical reasoning, offering novel insights and applications across various fields. Physics_logic is founded on the idea that physical entities and phenomena can be understood through logical relationships and sequences. By examining the interaction…

  17. What is it that holds our universe together? What is on the other side of our universe? What keeps these 2 universes apart if there are indeed 2 or more? So in a flux cluster universe as I visualise it, maybe the clusters themselves finally can't be reproduced anymore and whats left is the energy from the universe. Maybe when this energy meets the energy from the universe/s next to us it creates a positive/negative energy flux which keeps universes apart. Or something similar. Everything has an edge’ shape’ or shell’, everything. And if nature follows nature then our universe must have an edge’ shape’ or shell’. Maybe the energy retracts and the …

  18. In life, there always seems to me to be something for something so that it can grow, develop, be countered and be recreated in some way, whether specific or vague animals/life sort of thing. If a nettle stings you, theres usually a dock leaf not far away. If bitten by a snake, theres a good chance there is an anti venom. From an Earth pov, it feels to me like either we were very fortunate to be created on a planet with everything we need to survive or we/life was designed here… It doesn’t mean we don’t have free thought, just that we are an extremely clever design. If I were to make a human, what better way? Maybe add better self healing abilities but otherwise?…

  19. So how important are these SQEP’s? Extremely I believe, in the scheme of things. I visualise without these maybe nothing else would happen… or maybe something would but the opposite of this unviverse perhaps if it did…? Negative fluxes? In my head I think in the scheme of things they should exist. Nature being Nature. I think these things move so fast or are created so fast that, created to die, they can’t possibly gain any soldity at any stage during the flux. So even though they’re there, they are not. This only gets more confusing seemingly, but once you understand the basic SQEP dynamics I am seeing or trying to explain, the rest will I hope b…

Ok, since I was a child and until today, I can create this feeling that generally feels strongest in my core, right around where my diaphragm is. But, when I focus on different parts of my body I can "distribute" part of the intensity to that particular area, be it my foot or my hands or my thighs, etc. It is this powerful tingling sensation, it feels really good and if I sustain it for 4 seconds, it can become VERY strong. I can hold it for as long as I please but it gets gradually more difficult the longer I hold it. I tried looking everywhere for an answer but cannot find anything except others speaking of this same feeling, but no answers. Can anyone tell me what…

  21. By: Two totally verified science experts So recently, me and another science expert were deliberating on the topic of Santa Clause. Was he real? Was he plausible? We thought not. However, the other science expert came up with a theory that sounds totally absurd at first, but if you think about it it makes a lot of sense. We then continued to add some plausible, key facts to it, and we have now formulated a theory. Ok, so here goes the explanation: So you guys know how a LOT of people think Santa is made up because he isn't 'scientifically' possible or real? Well, Santa Claus was based off of St. Nicholas of Myra, who basically lived in Constantinople in presen…

Disclaimer: I am not a physicist, I merely had my curiosity peaked regarding Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, and one thing lead to another, until I came up with this. Please feel free to brainstorm alongside myself for other ideas, things I may not have considered, or anything else you want to add. Theory of mass-space relationship, gravity, and space distortion. Vulcan was a planet hypothesized in order to explain Mercury's unusual orbit around the sun. However, when Einstein came up with the theory of relativity, and how mass warps space-time, it explained Mercury's orbit, and thus Vulcan no longer was believed in. If, indeed, mass …

  23. The main hypothesis explaining the Fermi paradox is that the life is too rare at our universe (other civilizations are too far from us). One of the versions of this hypothesis is that the abiogenesis is too low-probable. I have already criticized this hypothesis, separating rarity in space and rarity in time. And here is another reasoning - the anthropic principle. As far as I understand, the idea of a multiverse, or a multitude of universes with different laws of nature, is mainstream in modern science. So it turns out logically that there should be "universes with the Fermi paradox" and "universes without it", i.e. in the first universes life is rare in the metagalaxy, …

Studying this is a complete waster of time. The theory is that much of the universe is made up of "dark matter". What is more important is to see this as "time". It is a bit complicated and relies on an element of belief. But I am just trying to saving our scientists (and people on this planet), from wasting their time.

I've developed a TOE and would like feedback on it. I'd particularly like comments on a proposed a modified Bohr atomic model. In the new model an electron in a hydrogen atom collapses to a particle at the n=1 quantum state. In higher quantum states the electron is a wave and has no mass. In the ground state the electron has mass and gravity keeps the electron in orbit around the proton. The other major change is electric charge is proposed to be emergent rather than constant. The changes account for all verified atomic observations and explain the stability at the n=1 ground state and the emission of energy (photons) below the 0 energy state. This TOE challenges se…
