Are there some specific evolutionary advantages to religiosity or did it simply evolve as a byproduct of the higher cognitive functions? I'm asking because all premodern societies (and a significant portion of modern ones) were religious in one way or another.

I watched "The Phenomenon" last night, I have to say it was the best UFO documentary I've seen. It blowed my former fav out of the water and then some. It had lots of footage of people who ere involved back in the day and other footage I had never seen. I thought I'd pretty much seen them all but this one resets the bar. Is Wikipedia reliable? i keep hearing that since everyone can edit it, its not a good place to get information. You see, if anyone can edit a page/article at any time then if anything changes then it can be fixed. While a normal britannica article for example cant be changed (at least not easily) after it has been made. And yes, i am aware that companies can edit wikipedia too- but so what? Speculation: So one thing I observe is that everything is so "fresh and new". We are not hampered by anything from the past.
