I was just wondering if anyone has come across this computer programming exercise. You are a programmer hired by a bank to manage several bank accounts. That isn’t always the exact description, but this question is standard for online courses. And from people I talk to they had the same question at traditional colleges. This is bad for uncountable reasons. This question even goes across different languages, such as C++ and when you learn Java it is the same question with different syntax. Not to mention a quick web search will answer the question. You are supposed to be a computer scientist and they give you a bank question…

Hi guys, I am wondering whether if VR will replace real life in the future where people will live in full immersion virtual reality? (Disregarding the basic human needs e.g eating) When is it expected to happen?

THE CHATPLACE TECHNICS In honor of Laplace, I'm building this imaginary space that will be a complete screen of symbol to be read and encode by the two end computer that will transfer the images. In the imaginary space of 4K, there is the place for all characters of this planet in 20X20 format pixels, of about 20,736 completed characters. All the screen possibility will be encoded materially into a memory read only device, that will trig the data stored into by the call of the transfer screen number. In the case of Mars, that should be a 7 X 7 low dispersion laser array. This system is now improved, by the use of single pixel (bit) in differen…

Hello Forum, I am new here but have maybe an interesting question. I now have a bachelor's in applied mathematics and applied statistics degrees. I graduated with a 3.92 and a 4.0 with my degrees. I do know multiple languages but because of my degrees the languages I know such as python, R, SAS etc do not really help me with computer science as a whole. Because of my history as well, I am not the best computer science major but because of my GPA and GRE scores and performance I am able to get into any computer science masters program i want to. I know I will have to take the 5 remedial classes but I truly want to know how hard will it be to transition to a graduate…

Employment of network and computer systems administrators is estimated to grow 6 percent from 2016 to 2026, approximately as fast as the average for all occupations. Demand for information technology (IT) workers is high and should continue to grow as firms invest in newer, faster technology and mobile networks. Please suggest me, which networking course is best for future?

Given a number n, what is the most assymptotically fast algorithm to express it in terms of base^exponent + rem such that rem is the smallest possible and base is limited from 2 to the maximum number that can be represented by a unsigned int? I'm currently using gmp bignum library in C, and my algorithm is as follows: It first finds the smallest possible base and the greatest possible base given the circunstances (binaries searches are performed) and then we know the range of i. Then, for each possible i, we take the i-th root of n and the corresponding remainder. The smallest remainder is updated if the current remainder is smaller than it. The algori…

Would it be theoretically possible to construct an algorithm that when provided with sufficient data, could predict the future with reasonable accuracy based on trends and pattern prediction? For example, if you created an algorithm that predicts where and when an earthquake is likely to happen up to a year in advance, then provided it with all the available information on earthquakes and plate tectonics and so on.

Hi all out there, I am writing a short summary article on biological molecules etc... for my school and perhaps for the wider community. I want to make my article exciting by incorporating scientific images. I want to make it more exciting and include images of amino acids etc... but showing each individual atom. Is there animation/image software available for science education purposes? Alternatively, is there low cost software that can help me to bring my article to life? for example, something like this: Thanks, in advance

I'm currently looking for an online school to get my BS in computer science. I'm 33 with 2 kids and a full time job so online is really my only option. I was on the phone for quite a while today with someone from Colorado Technical Institute and he made everything sound good and all but after I looked at the courses there is actually only one math and it's college algebra for technical programs. It's been my understanding that math was going to be a large part of this endeavor so how is it that only one math is required? No trig, calc, linear algebra, discreet math or anything like that. Math doesn't scare me at all but i'm wondering could this hurt me in the long run? I …

Would it be technically possible to make a ternary (3 bit) computer? Instead of the basic "on or off" in our standard binary ones. I imagine this might be done by having one extra state added beside on and off. We could call it dormant or standby mode. Dormant/standby would then be neither fully on or fully off. Edit: I would also imagine that such a computer would be incapable of communicating with binary computers, and be of less use, due to its isolation. Edit #2: I see now that I have been searching with the wrong keywords, and that such computers have been made: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ternary_computer Sorry for the inconvenience. M…

3-Sat is basically a Boolean expression written as an and of 3 or statements. (a!bc) and (!a!bc) and (!ab!c) and (!cde) and (!bc!d) 010**** 110**** 101**** **100** *010*** (aaa) and (!a!a!a) 0******* 1******* It can be solved in deterministic polynomial time by performing a bitwise unique match on FALSE values stored in an array. For example (a or !b or c) is only false for (010). We add the false values to an ordered array so a,b,c etc and simply do a bitwise check to see if the opposite already exists in the array, so for 010 that would be 101. If the opposite already exists then the Boolean expression is unsatisfiable. This would need to it…
