When to use High speed rail?
So new Brightline rail is being constructed from Miami up to Orlando and from there over towards the west coast. Still a bit out but trying to figure out how I should go about comparing ticket prices with alternatives and if there's anything else to consider besides straight roundtrip prices.

Crypto-cancer fade out end of civilization for Fermi paradox?
Yeah, most currencies are set up that so issuer makes a profit. Pennies and nickles are minted at a loss though so not universally true. Obviously you could use something like gold but then you simply have all the same issues in different forms to worry about. I'm not worried about crypto myself. We can always just switch to a fresh currency or drop the historical transaction data.

no ww1, impact on science and technology
Was to prevent our weak northern border from being used against us in a conflict with Britain. Yeah I have a feeling we would have been at the very least bogged down come winter lol. Got my dates mixed up, you're right actually. Not sure on the plaque then.

1914 and 1941. Though we do focus on broad causes for the war and US entry. Is that plaque at Brockhall by any chance? Thought may be in reference to the espionage work that went on. Think it would of simply had another random touch off event. Something along the lines of an accelerated timeline War Plan Red going awry instead, for instance. Canada is invaded by the US. England calls in help from their allies. With Russia and France fighting the US, Germany is soon convinced to join the American side.

I think once Haber-Bosch process was discovered a big war was inevitable.

Crypto-cancer fade out end of civilization for Fermi paradox?
Not really a waste if that is what people value. Higly probable there will be a variety of choices in the future though. No single currency can offer all options. There are less computationally demanding versions too. ie. Proof of Stake vs Bitcoin's Proof of Work

Kowloon
How did that happen? They did a mini recreation of Kowloon in Second Life, pretty cool looking. Setting of pretty popular SCP too, 'The Architect' http://www.scpwiki.com/scp-184

Are we hardwired for multiple partners? If so, what are the implications?
We didn't evolve to be totally one way or the other. There are species that entirely lack pair bonding and species that mate for life. Most humans will disagree with either extreme.

Are the white blood cells dividing a possibility?

Do you truly believe modern scientists have written the end of this story?
There is star lifting that can work to extend the sun's lifetime. In combination with new material for fusion added, could keep sun going for far longer than it's natural span. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_lifting Scale of engineering involved is main hurdle as physics is actually fairly well understood. Removing what is hard to fuse, adding what is easy. There's also options like man made Fusion and chemical energy that could keep us going as well.

U.S. Military Personnel Spilled Nuclear Secrets in Online Flashcards...
Yeah, that's the limit of what you can do though. This is the eighth modern accidental leak, I've either seen or heard of. All I can muster in response is a shrug.

U.S. Military Personnel Spilled Nuclear Secrets in Online Flashcards...
Pretty much a fact that people inadvertently leak info all the time. Better just to sensibly manage the problem, than think it possible to prevent.

Tendency of the rate of profit to fall
Seems like robots only replace cost of living/raising with those of maintenance/manufacture. Is a difference in that you can deliberately increase the size of your robotic labor force. Feed output of automation into increasing automation. That might well drive down profits. Depending on opportunity costs people would eventually start leaving the Market though, increasing profits again.

OOPARTS Out of place artifacts.
Yeah, I guess I've seen too many times where there's a more probable explanation(something falls in while processing) or where the object in question looks to be from the same time period as when it was found. Personally I find pondering how our ancestors might have used their brains and scarce resources to still achieve their goals to be more interesting.

Martian Hydroelectric Concept
I mean water will also sublimate on Mars at Martian atmospheric pressure, depending on temperature.

Dendera egypian hyrogliph
We're a very suggestble species... Does puzzle me what exactly the snake is supposed to be in that case though.
-
Dendera egypian hyrogliph
Egyptologists found that is actually a depiction of a lotus flower with a snake. Easier to see in this picture of them. Flower towards the base and heads of the snakes.

Physics of deep ocean
Technically also depends on how long you spend at that pressure/depth. 600 feet(183 meters) is supposed to be survivable though have to get back to atmospheric pressure fast. Ironic problem of having too much air in you, when escaping not having enough air. Better off really waiting for the Rescue Sub in almost every case.

Physics of deep ocean
In exiting out a submarine's escape trunk, for example, you only need to flood the trunk. Forbes had a good article about it that may be of interest. Explains everything in good detail. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidhambling/2021/04/26/how-to-escape-from-a-submarine-stranded-on-the-sea-bed/?sh=231aa94f1227

TVR Exploring? Wish I knew the answer to your question but it is interesting the stuff they find down there. Do wonder if they ever take samples off camera.

Safety and feasibility of driverless vehicles
I think nsurance will likely still exist, but will be handled by the rental/delivery company instead. If the overall accident rate goes down it won't be as big of a burden.
