  1. Stop feeding the trolls
  2. The most laughable part is that your citations don’t even support your claims. The second most laughable part is that your bad faith argumentation means we won’t have you here wasting our time much longer.
  3. Ignorant lies. At least you’re consistent in your posting style, but it’s a shame you feel the need to spread such remedially false disinformation.
  4. Was your intent with that post to confirm my assertion that you’re evasive and that any reasonable mature dialog with you is impossible? Is so, congratulations, sir. You’ve succeeded.
  5. Where I come from, it’s not an insult to inform you that you’ve completely failed to answer my actual question and have evaded a meaningful exchange with an unrelated anecdote.
  6. I’m not a very smart man, but it’s a priority of mine to accurately understand the thoughts of others. Sadly, I’m struggling with this last bit of your previous post. It sounds to me like you’re claiming covid is a hoax, but surely I’m mistaken. Because I respect you enough to ask, will you please clarify what is meant by these words of yours I’ve quoted here?
  7. Thank you, @studiot. I clearly misunderstood the core element of the question and yours was a helpful and welcome clarification. +1
  8. I've always heard our planet best described as an oblate spheroid. It's not perfectly spherical, has differences in dimension and density (it's a spheroid, not a sphere), and is a bit squishy around the middle due to its spin (it is oblate).
  9. Gamma rays exist by definition at a wavelength of ~100 picometers. Light visible to the eye exists between the bands of 400 and 700 nanometers. Orders of magnitude different You may as well be asking what sounds we can’t hear sound like, because you’re basically asking what light we can’t see looks like. I assume you mean how we see it after it’s been translated with appropriate detection equipment. Even so, you need to ask a clearer question than, “would we see a circular rainbow,” aka a glory or halo.
  10. Today, for the first time in the history of history itself and within 80 years of the first helicopter flight on Earth, humans successfully sustained flight on another planet... #micdrop #firstofmany
  11. And so the next chapter begins... what comes next is anyone’s guess. https://techcrunch.com/2021/04/19/apple-confirms-it-will-allow-parler-to-return-to-app-store/
  12. This isn’t a thread about Trump, but I for one have barely heard a word from him since his accounts were suspended. His multiple tweets per day are no longer driving news cycles. His lies are no longer cascading through the ether misinforming people who don’t actively pay attention to specifics. Surely this isn’t a good faith question? If it is, I can probably come up with 7 other ways the deplatforming of Trump has made it harder for him to get his message out... but this isn’t a thread about him (despite being peripherally related). Come to think of it, why is this thread in the suggestions, feedback, and support section??

Looks like the quote function of the forum software seems to have given you some trouble in that post. It happens to us all sometimes, but if you need/expect me to respond, then I'll need you to please try posting your response again.

I’m not here to defend Ron Johnson. I find his general approach here repugnant and detrimental, but none of these things you’ve said in the above quote are possible for you to know. You should stop making assertions regarding things impossible for you to know.
  15. Perhaps a better question is, “how do I use google?”
  16. Clearly your forces and vectors are off. Too much strange and not enough charm in your quarks
  17. Lol. Actually think autocorrect bit me on that one
  18. I would add the presence and overuse of qualified immunity over there next to your blue wall of silence. Also, in terms of reforming problematic police departments from a federal level (I believe there’s roughly 17,000 distinct departments all under local control and acting like little fiefdoms), the precious admins gagging of the use of Consent Decree has stood in the way. Fortunately, Attorney General Merrill Garland is taking steps to rescind those restrictions so the Justice Dept can again step in and mandate changes to local departments when issues are found. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/16/ag-merrick-garland-erases-trump-limits-on-consent-decrees-for-police.html
  19. Cool. Cool. Don’t think they died last week tho
  20. Sex. I took a sex ed class in college. Attractive professor asked for volunteers in her lab. She was researching a female equivalent to viagra. It was the first time I understood what science really meant (tho admittedly I was already predisposed to thinking critically and based on evidence thanks to my dad).
  21. And I tend to agree with you that more training would lead to better results, especially martial arts type training. No doubt. Could be a high ROI investment. I’m just not ready to stipulate that bias and racism (implicit or otherwise) are not the bigger issues at play requiring a change in culture and general approach to policing. After all, nearly 60% of police killings occur when they’re responding to nonviolent issues (graph and source shared earlier this week in this thread), and whites behaving the same way after being apprehended for the same offenses aren’t being similarly murdered by law enforcement. Anyway, your view benefited from a hard sell in the above discussion. Many good points made.
  22. Sam Harris released a podcast today where he interviewed Rener Gracie who’s been working with police departments to offer BJJ training to officers at a significantly discounted cost. I don’t agree with everything they discussed, but this is by far the strongest case I’ve heard for the position you advocated here. Is worth a listen given your interest and background and previous comments. Link below ✌️ Sam Harris: Waking Up podcast. 23. Fair, but even with that clarity my point remains. If they can get a ship there, then technically speaking that ship could also have a human aboard. We likely just won’t let them do it due to safety concerns. And above I meant their, not they’re
