How does quantum mechanics explain or describe observations that space is expanding? If qm cannot describe such phenomenon, is there any other model that can? How does dark energy and dark matter fit into the qm approach. Which of following terms is most likely to exist assuming some unexplained behaviour is observed: Dark Time, Dark Mass, Dark Speed, Dark Spin, Dark Momentum, Dark Field, Dark Direction, Dark Gravity, Dark Observer. I don't agree with Bell's theorem. Bell's theorem basically states that local hidden variables can't explain quantum effects,like the quantum correlation between entangled particles. The absence of hidden variables is the absence of a cause. 1.If an effect like quantum correlation is not caused by hidden variables then the absence of hidden variables causes quantum correlation which means it should be present between all sub-atomic particles. 2.When you measure one of an entangled pair, the correlation collapses. Is non-locality applicable over any distance? Right to the edge of the observable universe? Do the two related events have to be related in any way apart from originating from the same "parent event"? Does the "detector" have any input into the phenomenon ? Hope I am not derailing. Schrodinger's Cat, according to The Complete Idiots Guide to Theories of The Universe, Is essentially an experiment which states that a cat that is in a box with a vial of poison, is both dead and alive, because we don't know whether or not it IS living unless we look into the box. In this scenario we wouldn't be looking into the box. It's used as an example for wave particle duality, and I personally think it's a bad example and shouldn't be referenced. I understand that particles' position in space is described by a probability function that seems to me to imply that there is no part of the universe where the particle might not in theory be observed. Are there in fact places and times where it is possible to say with 100% certainty that a particle will never be observed? If this is the case, is there a mathematical formula to describe that circumstance (in the quantum region)?

One thing that has always bugged me, other then the clearly dumb "us" centric way it tends to be portrayed. Is that everytime Ive heard the multiple universe hypothosis described, even on wikipedia. It seems to say that other universes pop out of nothing. If I make a right turn another universe is instantly made out of thin air where I made a left. Ignoring how absurd I find the idea that every flip of a coin spawns a universe. Where does the energy come from for any of these universes?

Hello, iam new here and i am not a scientist nor a physicists. I learn physics and biology from movies and books. But computer it's my natural talent Alright, let's say the Singularity is happen 10-20 years from now what will happen "if" human really transcend 1. By Religion? By philosophy? Hi, I am not up to date with recent Physics theories, having done my Physics degree in the 70s. This book is one I have been wanting too read for years but I am not not sure whether it is 'out of date' as far as the theoretical content. Please can you tell me if you think it is still relevant. I have idea. Electron moving creates a wave that accompanies the particle all the way, but by observing the electron wave is extinguished and only a particle reaches the screen. Perhaps in some experiments, the scientists recorded particles and in others only their wave? Hence, the wave-particle duality.

Hi Experts, I'm trying to understand the Higgs boson and Higgs Field which, allegedly, is responsible for giving mass to matter. And if the field is all around the universe, why then the same matter weighs different in different gravitational environment (same thing is lighter on Moon etc). You can say, must be because the gravity, but then my question how the Higgs field and gravity (which is based on the mass of object) related?
