  1. Through globalisation, a growing global population and the increasing use of the internet people are viewing pornography more regularly and starting to at younger ages. http://au.askmen.com/dating/news/side-effects-of-porn.html My question is, do the side effects outweigh the benefits? It is evident that easy accessibility to pornography has decreased marriage rates but it has also decreased the value of free sex as a commodity it may have once been. What are the benefits of being desentized to sexual images? In your opinion, is it a good thing and is this the direction society should be headed?

  2. The universe along with everything that exists in it is alive. For us to view this world in any manner that promotes the thought of anything being less significantly important, is inhumane. Biotic components other than complex life like humans also share ranges of emotions, senses, and stimuli to their environment. Even the inorganic inanimate materials in this world share the energy that is within us and in a constant cycle. The energy, the atoms, the molecules, the elements, the RNA, the DNA, everything that exists is in a constant cycle. From startdust to dust in the wind. We walk around like we know everything there is to know, confidently blind. Even the scientists,…

Leaving today for a siteseeing trip to Maine. When I was a boy, a friend of mine's dad was lost forever hunting in Maine. I was reminded of a time I was lost in the woods, near the lake where my friend and his lost dad had stayed in the summer. I was traveling a trail back to the old iron mines that I had traveled often, but had left the trail, lost the trail, and my bearings and had no idea which direction would take me home or back to the trail. The sky was cloudy so the Sun was not apparent. Moss on the trees did not seem to give me a good North indication. I did not know if I was traveling in circles or in the right direction or the wrong. Then the "tip" o…

In this video; he was first appeared in the elections of Popstar: He thought him as a world hyperstar! He was actually a mechanical engineer: But he was changed his career to popstar. How did you find this music video? Also watch his another song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zItG3CFdbXs

So Stephen Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, is about to release a search engine for formal knowledge based on Mathematica: http://www.twine.com/item/122mz8lz9-4c/wolfram-alpha-is-coming-and-it-could-be-as-important-as-google The idea is they'll hand curate a formal knowledge database about science, technology, geography, weather, cooking, business, travel, people, music, etc. and from this Mathematica will be able to apply rich calculations to answer natural language questions. It will be interesting to see how well this works.

And dripping sweat on my four was mixing with the cleaning fluids. ----> http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Innernet/P1010473_zps74645b64.jpg (Has text attached) Ideas for improvement welcome, If anyone wants to marry it to a computer on board to have it unnatended on battery power, go ahead... but think about some mild countertorque measures. This mostly goes out to the parents here on SF and anyone else who has an opinion on the subject. Circumcisions, did you choose to or not with your child? Personally I don't think circumcisions are necessary and are only a cosmetic cultural practice that has transcended from outdated religious practices to make sex less frequent and pleasurable. We chose not to circumcise our son, my significant other was going to at first but I was against it. I'm circumcised and never really thought a whole deal about it until recently. My standpoint on it is mainly this - The foreskin is meant to be there, it provides slack while being 1/3 of the penis skin. It has 20,000 …

I posted this in other sciences months ago with 99 views and no replies. I'm guessing it was in the wrong area, posting this again hoping to get some info. Please mods, don't take this down. I'm really curious about this, I know it's dumb but the question has just been aching at me. If I don't get any responses this time I promise I'll leave the topic alone. How long have humans wore diapers or cloths over our infants? Is this something all cultures have done or only a select few? I can't seem to find any information on google, as all that comes up is information on disposable diapers.

A short time ago someone posted about writing stories about science issues, I am no where near a writer but it made me think about what i would write about if I was, I thought how interesting the elements are and the stories you could if elements where living entities. This is a very basic idea at moment, But thought it would make a good idea for childrens book, I thought about creating a world where all the elements live, With their own day to day problems, With stories that can come as the result of elements living in a world similar to "mister men", Perhaps with issues where two different elements who are attracted to each other but are not allowed to be together"s…

But I can go another big cities which are higher chemical company profiles and job opportunities and so on. And I did some job interviews on chemical companies that they are in polymer, water treatment station, pharmaceutical, mining and also painting. But nowhere called me after that. I did as best as I can in these interviews. Only i couldnt answer to questions about chemical structure and some chemical equipments.I think that doesnt matter. So , whats the wrong about me? Hello So this is my first post here. I'm not the most scientifically literate person, (I've only done IB Physics HL, and that too I scored a 4). I have an idea that I'm trying to write a book around. THIS WILL CLEARLY BE PRESENTED AS A WORK OF FICTION, AND WILL NO WAY MAKE PSEUDOSCIENTIFIC CLAIMS TO BACK UP ANY RELIGIONS ETC. Basically, I'm considering writing a work of fiction basically inspired by Hairy Ball theorem and the Hairy Doughnut theorem. Essentially, they will be used as "symbols" in the artwork to represent daoism-inspired concepts of balance, flow and resistance. AND I will also explore the concepts of "chakras" with them. (and possibl…

This video is not about the music although I do like it, I have found it to be one of the most visually stunning film I have ever seen. I think many will agree this is a masterpiece of filming There is a "What are you listenning to" thread in the Lounge, but I think it would be nice if anyone sees nice film, editing, special Effects, or just about any cute visuals they could follow here. A Thread for beauty in films or videos, or even recommendations for it in case it is in theaters.

  19. It seems to me that conversion to green energy and cleaner engines have a chance to limit climate change to 3C. The linear alternator engine might be put to use in new cars within a couple of years, and that the potential efficiency increase for automobiles should be a huge; about like taking 15% of cars off the road if all cars were converted. Moreover, with 3D printers, a good small business in the near future might be to replace engines in old cars with linear alternator engines and electric motors. Cars with thin kind of engine also made from light weight materials should make 100+ mpg automobiles common. Texas recently decided that wind+solar and 3 coal plants wo…

Hi guys Those who know me a bit, also know that tuesday (previous week), I had to take my entrance exam in order to be allowed to follow medicine in a Flemish university. Today, I got the result. Knowledge and Insight in Sciences (KIS) (10 questions of each science) (a correction for guessing is implied; also, some of the questions were deleted because they wouldn't have been 100% correct; otherwise my result would've been a bit better): -Mathematics: 2,04/5 -Chemistry: 2,41/5 -Biology: 2,71/5 -Physics: 4,26/5 ----------------------- TOTAL: 11,4/20 Acquiring and Processing Information (API) (exists out of 30 questions on communication between phys…

  25. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-27926348 Harley-Davidson invites public to test electric motorbike Seeing the speed that electric bikes can get round the mountain course (link below) - and how drop dead gorgeous that one above looks; maybe there is a new age dawning for bikers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TT_Zero#2014_TT_Zero_Race Still 14-15 mph lower than a Superbike - but averaging 117mph around such a hairy circuit is pretty damn fast
