I've always been extremely skeptical of the Copenhagen interpretation. I'm aware of its use in explaining the probability distribution of subatomic particles, but the extent to which the idea has been taken, simply seems unrealistic. I'd very much like to see a mathematical/scientific proof of some kind which more adequately affirms/debunks the veracity of this interpretation.

Hello. I have an obscure question... I understand that electromagnetic energy spectrum includes everything from Gamma Rays to Radio waves, with x-rays, light and microwaves somewhere in between. I also understand that fire releases energy. Much of this energy is heat, and some of it is light. In addition to light, what other forms of electromagnetic energy does a fire release? Does a fire also emit ultra-violet radiation or infrared radiation? What about X rays and Microwaves? Or even radio wave interference? Ok, im a starwars fanatic, and as i was playing a game, i notised that the players could apply a shield field and be protected from bullets:eyebrow:. Now i have been doing some research on it and found this fourm, then i search for 'reverce magnet' and found this: Can a magnet be made to PUSH metal? So here i am wondering if you strip pyrolytic carbon to about 2 mm, would it lose any force from the orginal, i don't know, 1 sq. dm block, and, would it have the power to stop a bullet before it hit you? Hi can anybody help me with my egg launcher project? I can't really decide what to build. We're suppose to build a egg launcher taht willl launch 20 meters, and it won't break the egg. Please see the attached "concept" pdf file. If the mechanism does not generate energy then there should be physics which can clearly show that without it being assumed in the method of analysis used. So I am doing a research paper but im not sure if density affects the bending of light. I have always wondered why the energy of a photon in vacuum is equal to E = pc (where p is the momentum of the photon, and c is the speed of light in vacuum) and not E = 1/2 pv (where for a photon v = c) as is the case for the kinetic energy of any moving mass. Of course, I understand that photons are massless, but can anyone clearly explain how E = mc^2 and not E = 1/2 mc^2 and prove that in a theoretical non-empirical way??

I didn't know which category this fitted in, but you got the duty: When it’s hot. They say, “wear a hat”. To keep the heat off (No, not just the UV). When it’s cold, they say, “wear a hat”. “30% of your body heat is ‘lost’ via your head…” Isn’t this crazy talk? Your hot blooded brain isn’t going to conserve body heat because it’s got a hat on it? Isn’t putting a hat on, in summer, going to make you hotter? Given the above? My idea is that ‘hat’s have no net-effect at all except in extreme, extreme. Circumstances. Can a hat, at any time (not counting a blizzard), do any good?

Hi everyone, I am new here, but I have a question I have been thinking about a lot. The force of gravity is one of the fundemental forces in nature. But my main question is, what actually generates the force itself? Now I know of course that gravity is proportional to the mass of an object, but that must mean that every atom on it's own, generates a very tiny amount of gravitational force - right? So is it the nucleus, electrons, quarks, the charge of the atom or something entirely different that actually generates the force? This doubt arised in me just when i was holidaying with my parents in the car. A huge load in the trunk made the car to move slow. this means, mass is inversely proprotional to velocity. But then i suddenly thought of einstein's theory. What he said was that ,when an object acquires the speed of light, its mass becomes infinite. Doesn't it mean that mass is directly proportional to velocity. Can anyone pls clear it to me in a liberal way as i am only a school student and cant understand complex terms...

Hi everyone, I've come accross this on the bitesize revision pages and it doesn't make sense to me, I was hoping someone would be able to explain it, the link is : http://www.bbc.co.uk/school... my problem with is is that the formula for working out the relationship between the voltages on a transformer and the number of turns on a coil is that they seem to change the formula round. First of all it is: Vp/Vs = Np/Ns then they write it as: Vs/Vp = Ns/Np which obviously isn't the same thing unless I'm missing something! Recently I have made two test to see how much hydrogen is made with hot and with cold water and I have seen that when you put an electrolyser into hot water, the quantity of hydrogen obtained and the speed of electrolysis is higher that when you do the same test in cold water.
